At Root Electric it is our honor to offer our customers superior service from the first telephone call to the final payment. Root Electric specializes in working directly with homeowners, business owners and facility managers in electrical construction, upgrades and service. All of our electricians are experienced and well-trained employees of root electric. Additionally, we do not sub-contract to any outside workers or companies for electrical work. Root Electric employs a dedicated sales staff to handle customer's telephone calls and to estimate projects. On smaller jobs and service calls, we usually don't complete this form due to time constraints. Two electricians showed up and did the job. They were 30 min. late, but that's probably just northern VA traffic working its magic. Once at our house, they were thorough, and took pains to get everything working right and looking right. Every switch, outlet, light, and timer works perfectly. They're pet-friendly (though in fairness the cats mostly hid), and they even fixed a wiring issue in a GFI that wasn't on the original estimate, but didn't add to the charge.
Summary: very positive experience, would and will recommend them to friends/coworkers who need electrical work on their similarly older houses.

Bill Root III came out and provided us an estimate on the work requested. Bill was excellent and very patient with all the questions I had (given that my knowledge of electrical work is almost none). Bill was also readily available and very patient and helpful with a few follow-up calls/emails I had regarding the estimate and some additional work I wanted to have done.
The estimate provided was excellent and thorough, breaking down each item being done, and all the parts/labor that would be needed for that particular job. The price provided was excellent.
Root Electric did an outstanding job coordinating the work being done with NOVEC and the County Inspectors office. All of the work, the inspection, and having the main power turned off/on was all done the same day.
On the day of the work, the Root Electric technicians showed up promptly. The 2 Root Electric technicians worked quickly, worked hard, and were very courteous, professional, knowledgeable and answered any questions I had while they performed their work. There were NO issues with their work when the County Inspector came and reviewed everything.
When Root Electric left, they made sure everything was cleaned up and put back in place. They tested all the connections on the new electrical panel, and went over each item performed to show me how everything worked and answered any questions I had.
Id definitely recommend this company, and will definitely be using them in the future.

Although we did no actual work for this potential customer, we supplied a detailed estimate of the work requested and what was needed to meet the latest requirements of the National Electrical Code. The work was to have an electrical permit pulled and an inspection performed by the local inspection offices. We responded to the request rapidly with no delays, were respectful both to the homeowner and the property. The estimate as I stated was very detailed...we have never been graded on an estimate before so this is new territory for our company. Mr Root, arrived on time. He was very professional, friendly, and patient. He explained in detail and in a way in which I would understand everything he was doing. He also discovered that the original work was probably not wired up correctly, and that is why the outlet shorted out and melted the plastic and some of the wires had burned. So now all is well. I will definitely call Mr Root again, if and when any electrical problems occur. I definitely made the right decision in contacting him to do the repairs.

"I have searched our computer data base along with our answering service's computer phone records also our appointment log which is all computerized and I cannot find [Member Name Removed] anywhere. I have checked the work log for the week prior to the 24th and up to today the 29th and we have not repaired any post lights. With every panel replacement, we start with an in-person assessment to ensure that our price and scope of work is accurate. Our goal is also to keep drywall repair to a minimum. We invest in new, special tools designed to allow us to make installations without cutting large amount of drywall. (Although, we still do need to cut drywall on occasion)"
