Nicto had a staff of very nice and professional workers.  We never wanted to rebuild our chimney because we have see other houses that have it done and it does not match.  The chimney was so cracked from the hard winter that we were concerned about water damage if we did fix it.  Nicto did a great job of finding new bricks (ours had cracked) and matched the mortar color very well.  They finished the job on time.  I recommend using them for chimney work.  They were a referral from Bromwells - the Fireplace people in Falls Church.

Two guys from Nicto arrived within the time frame specified by the company.  They introduced themselves and surveyed for the best entrance to bring in the approx. 800lb. insert.  VERY clean.  I was prepared for chimney and fireplace ash to be all over the room where they were working.  Not the case!  They worked very efficiently and quietly.  Showed me the outstanding issues to be resolved on their return trip (we have a custom plate to be installed around the opening of the fireplace) and were satisfied with letting me pay whatever part of the $1200 cost I felt comfortable until the job is complete.

Nicto installed 2 wood burning stoves for us in April 2013. The installation went well. We had a few installation "bumps" due to our house/electrical configuration. Nicto handled them all quickly and professionally.

We didn't use our stoves until Oct.  Then we noticed the heavy winds we had during the summer knocked one of our chimney caps loose.  Nicto came right away (after dark) and fixed it.

They are so great we even have them clean our gutters now.

Marcus and his crew installed two wood burning stove inserts into our fireplaces. He did an amazing job. He did the work in April so we couldn't test them. We had a few minor adjustments to make in Nov when we started to use them. Even though he was swamped with other customers he made the time to come out and help us.
Going forward, we will be using Nicto service for cleaning our chimneys and cleaning our gutters.

We have two really old fireboxes that we are not ready to completely replace.  Marcus listened to us and advised us on all of our options.  We chose the cheapest one for now... but with the informatio he provided we will be able to plan and prepare for the major renovation when we are ready.  From the start, the experience was great.  Marcus was on time for the free estimate... and his follow up was prompt.  We paid 50% up front and his crew showed up as expected to finish the job.  We were very pleased with the entire experience.

Marcos and his crew were absolutely wonderful to work with.  Their work and craftsmanship was impeccable and can't say enough about how easy it was to work with them and how happy we are with the results.  Our chimney was in pretty bad shape and not usable; we had a lot of water damage.  We called for an estimate and he came on time and worked up a full estimate. He is extremely knowledgeable and he did not try to sell us any unnecessary work.  Once the work began, they found more damage that first expected, but he did not charge us anything extra. Nicto even cleaned out our vents for the microwave which had a birds nest and added a cover all free!  The crew cleaned everything; there were no signs left in the yard of any damage (e.g., grass or plants). We also wanted to redo the interior refacing of the fireplace; Nicto provided some great references to work with.  We will certainly use them for our chimney needs. Highly recommended!

and showed pictures of everything that would need to be done inside and

Within two weeks, I had my appointment scheduled and despite the cold
weather, the work began and ended on time. I had to have extensive brick
work done on the outside and they did an excellent job matching the
brick, which wasn't easy since my home is over 40 years old. I was able
to see all the work done step by step and the workers even took time to
show me and explain all that was being done.
A very nice staff to work with and would definitely refer them to anyone
who needs a cleaning up to major repairs done on their chimney.

Nicto is a superb company who did a great deal of work in a timely manner, with expert craftsmanship, and with great care for the house and the yard. My house was built in 1964, and the chimney's needed quite a bit of work. Marcos was right on time for his appointment, was thorough and professional in his estimating process. The price was very competitive with other offers, and the work was done in quick and extremely professional fashion. I highly recommend this company.

At the inside of the house, we noticed a discoloration on the outside of the fireplace, indicating a probable chimney leak somewhere. We called Nicto. They went up via a ladder and deduced that the leak entered at the junction of the roof and the chimney. He also took a picture of my chimney cap which revealed evidence of rusting. Also, there was much mold on the outside of the chimney where rain water would roll down the roof, hit the chimney, and then run down the side of the chimney. They power washed and replaced the chimney cap on the first day, then installed the deflecter and did the water  proofing on the exterior of the chimney on the second day. The chimney cap has a life=time warranty; the water proofing has a ten year warranty. Prior to inspecting the outside, Nicto inspected the inside of the fireplace and pointed out the difference in the appearance of the right inside firewall vs the left inside firewall indicating leakage on the right side.

I needed a chimney liner installed, as the house we just bought had a woodburning fireplace insert but no chimney liner, which was not to code and a fire hazard.  As soon as I called Nicto Chimney Sweeps, the receptionist answered and was very professional.  She quickly set up a free estimate with the owner, Marcos Pacheco.  I will note that Nicto was the only chimney sweep we called (of about 5) that promptly called us back and wasn't booked out for months.  Marcos arrived on time and spent over an hour with us for the free estimate, explaining what sort of liner was needed and how much it would cost.  Inspecting the chimney, he noted several other problems.  A different chimney sweep company had just completed some other work that was subpar, and he picked up on this right away.  Although we were disappointed to have to start from scratch, pricing was very reasonable.  The cost for the liner plus all the repairs was about the same as what a different company wanted to charge us just for the liner.  Nicto did A LOT of work for $1900.  Two men were there for an entire day and they also returned the second day.

On the day they were supposed to do the work, it was pouring rain, and the receptionist called the day before to reschedule.  She also called the day before the rescheduled appointment to remind me.  Marcos and his assistant arrived on time.  They cleaned the interior of the chimney so thoroughly and actually removed several pounds of soot that a different company didn't remove, even though the prior company said they did.  I was truly impressed with how thoroughly they cleaned the chimney.  They installed the new liner and put on a new cap and crown.  They also did all the other work as outlined, and even pressure washed the deck while they were washing the chimney.  The other company had done a really shoddy job of washing the chimney, but Marcos was able to get it so much cleaner.  They obviously take a lot of pride in their work.  The mortar work on the chimney shoulder looks great and was done very meticulously.  He also examined our dryer vent and cleaned our gutters for free.  Finally, he reassured us that what we thought was mold on our fireplace was actually efflourescence and gave us some cleaner to wash it off.  (He said he could have done it but was nice enough to just give us the cleaner so that we did not have to pay for him to clean it.)

I would highly recommend Marcos and Nicto Chimney Sweeps to anyone who wants a professional job done!
