I called Mike to get a quote after reading the reviews on Angie's List and I was not disappointed at all. He arrived at our house right on time, actually drew both of our systems in 3D and took a bunch of measurements, and then sat down to discuss the different options we could go with. He was able to pull up their website and walk me through each system that he thought would be appropriate for our house. He explained to me that the ductwork for our lower level was installed very well and there were no signs of air leakage, but that the area around our actual unit had quite a bit of leakage, which they would fix. He also explained how he would improve our upper level system by making it more air tight and efficient (in addition to having a more efficient unit in place). He was able to answer all of my many questions and I felt like he was giving me straight, truthful, and thoughtful answers. He returned to his office (on a Friday) and had an estimate to me shortly after that. My husband and I continued to have several other questions in comparing his estimate to other companies and he promptly answered all of my calls and walked me through all of the details. We decided to use Brennan on a Monday and that Wednesday they were at our house to install our new systems. Two crews arrived right on time. They laid down drop cloths and even moved my husband's ties and work shirts from the closet so they would not get any insulation on them. All of the men on the crew were very professional, polite, and friendly. They worked straight through from the time they arrived until about 2:30 when they finished up the systems and started cleaning up. I think they left our house about 3:30. It was a chilly day when we had it installed. Upon Mike's recommendation, we had increased the heat in the house prior to the crew arriving so it was nice and warm when they turned the systems off and started to change them out. They went above and beyond when I found that they had attached a drain pipe to our humidifier that previously had not had a drain pipe. The next morning we had a small snag. The furnace on the upper level had stopped working. We were a little surprised by this. I called Brennan and they sent someone out quickly to look into the issue. It turned out to be a switch that was original to the house (not the new install) had stopped working properly. It was not holding the wire tight anymore so the furnace lost its electrical connection. The technician quickly swapped it out and everything has been working properly since. We had the county inspector come out yesterday. Brennan sent me a letter explaining what I needed to do and what I needed to give the inspector. It took all of about 5 minutes and we were approved. I also received a letter today from Brennan reminding me of the warranties I have on my new equipment. They even registered our Carriers for us so we don't have to worry about that. They did a great job and I am so glad we decided to use them!

He was very nice, and took time to explain how HVAC systems work. He helped me think through options of replacing just parts, or purchasing a new system. Although we ultimately purchased our new system from another company (based on a neighbor's recommendation for the other company) I would definitely recommend that people call Brennans for repairs or replacement.

The installation was very easy for me- I just showed them the two old units and they got started. We prescheduled the installation, but they called before they showed up. The removed and hauled away to old units. They cleaned up after themselves. The total installation took about 8 hours and included a new thermostat and media filter. Since the installation, I feel that the house temperature is more uniform. The basement is actually warm and the upstairs isn't boiling hot. I would definitely use them again and plan to use them for all of my heating and cooling needs in the future.

After they did the assessment, we agreed to a contract for annual maintenance as well. It definitely was a positive experience. They were honest; heating and air conditioning can be very expensive and we felt like they had competitive prices but they made it very clear about what was needed to be done urgently and what work could wait. They let us know what all of our options were and they did not pressure us to make any decisions that would make them more money and we really appreciated that fact. They were excellent as far as their professionalism, being on time, and being respectful of our property; even our dog likes them. They were very easy to work with; they were very responsive and they had reasonable appointment options. They were late but they had their office to call us to tell us that they would be late and they would give us a window on when they would arrive; they handled it as professionally as they possibly could. We received a call very early letting us know they were running late and why they were running late, and also when they were going to be there; we really appreciated that.

The fan on our heat pump decided that December 23rd was a good time to self-destruct. My husband tried contacting the firm we had used in the past both by e-mail and phone, but they did not get back to us. I called Brennan's on the morning of Christmas Eve. They had a technician out by 11 am. He convinced us to replace rather than repair, since the unit was in bad shape. There may have been a bit of up-selling, but I agreed with paying more for the more efficient, quieter unit, and the 10 year warranty on labor as well as parts. He gave us the Angie's List discount without my having to mention it, and worked out the financing. The work was scheduled for the day after Christmas. The installers came on what many people think should be a day off, working in sleeting rain to make sure that we had heat. Meanwhile, I got three phone calls from the other firm (Furr's) following up on our attempts to contact them THREE DAYS earlier. In my experience so far, when I call Brennan's, I get a cheerful, helpful response, and a technician on my doorstep as promptly as I could ask for. The work is well done, and they do all I can expect to leave my house as clean as they found it.

I called Brennan's because my heat stopped working on a cold morning. They were at my house within 30 minutes, and quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue( the furnaces ignitor). I will not hesitate to use them in the future.

We realized the heat in our house was not working. I called and someone was able to come out the same day. The system was evaluated, and they reccommended we get a new unit. We could have replaced the broken parts, but it would have been over half the amount as it would have been for a new unit and there was no guaranttee of how long the unit would hold up because it was old and a builder basic model. They were able to come the next day and install a new unit. One of the guys said a random person came by and wanted to know if they could have the old unit (I guess for the copper?) He told them they could not, but he also explained to the guy that the new units had almost no copper in them so they were basically worthless... hopefully keeping the random person from thinking about coming back and stripping the copper from the unit. I though that was really awesome, because he didn't have to do that. He did that to protect us. I really thought that was over and above what he had to do. The installation went flawlessly, the heat works wonderfully!

They were good, on time, prompt and professional. I appreciated that they anticipated my needs.

This was a complete replacement of a (heat pump) HVAC system, inside and outside units. Great job! The installers were very professional. Drop cloths everywhere, very good cleanup and the new unit is working great. Last time I had the system replaced 15 years ago by a different HVAC company, that company was back on three separate occasions in the first two weeks to correct mistakes or add parts that should have been installed in the initial order. Brennan's got everything installed in one visit, did an excellent job, and we are thoroughly pleased with the result. Everything works as it should and they took their time to get a lot of the little things right. One example - the last vendor used a saddle valve to tap the hot water line for the humidifier. Brennan's took the time to plumb in a T with a separate shut off. All the pipes and cables are neatly dressed and bundled up along the joists. They also include 1 year of checkups in the job and warranty the labor for 2 years. All in all, a very thorough and professional experience.

Excellent experience from start to finish. Mike Brennan inspected my existing 34 year old GE electric system and walked me through every detail associated with the type of installation work involved. I was very impressed with how Mr. Brennan provided heat pump options tailored to the needs of our home. Of the three estimates I sought, this one was significantly lower than the others. The quote was a single quote - as compared to others who added other quotes for the installation of refrigerant lines. As for installation, despite a snow day, Mike Brennan arrived promptly to start work and then the installers arrived shortly thereafter. Despite the challenges associated with the set up of my older system and the previous placement of refrigerant lines, they did a great and flawless job! The current system looks great. Highly recommended.

Outstanding Service! From the moment I called to arrange the appoint to Brian showing up. Both were professional. Brian even took the time program my thermostat and gave me the 101 on how heat pumps work and what to expect with extreme cold snaps. I highly reccommend them.

They arrived on time. Gave me a clear overview of the problem and the fix. The technician (Gary) was efficient and quickly replaced the igniter and cleaned the furnace. I am very pleased with the level of service and attentiveness they have for customers. When the new igniter failed they had someone at my home by 9 am that day.

Overall, no complaints. Installation crew was courteous, professional, and on-time. They prepared the house first by laying down padding/protection for the floor and stairs so they did not cause any damage or dirtiness to the house. They seemed to know exactly what they were doing and worked the job efficiently. It took a total of about 5 hours, including their lunch break. At the end, they thoroughly cleaned up everything to the extent that you wouldn't even know they were here. Main installer showed me how to work the thermostat, we handled the paperwork, and that was it. My estimate came with a one-year maintenance agreement, so they will be out in the spring and fall to make sure everything is running as it should. Assuming I'm happy with their service on the maintenance agreement, and depending on what it costs to renew it next year, I may choose to do so. I also opted for the 10 year labor warranty as part of my estimate (cost is reflected in the total price listed). Having just had a ridiculously horrible experience with the junk Goodman unit I replaced, and now knowing the labor costs just to replace an evaporator coil, I felt it a good investment to pick up the additional labor warranty. I must say though that I am hopeful that with a quality Carrier product, and hopefully with a solid installation, that the system will last much longer than 10 years. Time will tell. For now, I am satisfied with the work Brennan's did and would highly recommend them.

Excellent experience from estimate to installation. Got three estimates and this was the best value and turned out to be the lowest cost. Installers arrived promptly at about 8:30 am and were finished by 4:30 pm.The area was thoroughly cleaned of all replaced equipment and debris. Great job overall and would recommend to anyone.

Mike Brennan provided us with a reasonable and accurate estimate for a new heat pump and air handler system for our home. he took the time to fully inspect and measure our existing system and answer all our questions. Additionally, he did not attempt any "hard sell" techniques nor did he attempt to sell us additional gimmicks for the system. The price quoted was extremely competitive. Although we ultimately chose a different contractor to perform this work, we would heartily recommend Brennan's to anyone in the market for any heating or cooling needs.

Great. It was simple to get an appointment. The company gave us a time frame and the provider arrived within the window. We received a courtesy call 15 minutes prior to his arrival notifying us that he was 15 minutes away. Gari was courteous and professional. He was very understanding of our situation and took time to explain the issues with us. Gari offered us the service furnace/AC combo which will save us money in the long run.

Visited in August for estimate on replacing heat pump. Price and services were outlined clearly, he took his time explaining them. Honored the quote when I was ready in December. Installation went smoothly, with professional staff. Price was as quoted, no tricks. Everything was straightforward and professional.

Our heat pump failed in the middle of August, so getting a replacement in a timely manner was crucial. I got 3 bids and Brennan's was the cheapest by about $1000. They also included an extra 2 years of labor warranty coverage. I signed the contract on Friday and the installation crew was at my door Monday morning promptly at 8. They completed everything by mid-afternoon and cleaned up, hauled away the old unit. Very pleased.

We had to replace an existing AC system which stopped cooling efficiently this past summer and was well over 15 years old. Mike Brennan did the estimate and was VERY informative. For instance: When his quote spec'd out a unit which was much lower in capacity (tonnage) than the other 3 quotes we received, I questioned him about this. He explained that his quote was based off the duct work/size of the house rather than the model number of the furnace, which seemed to make sense. The Brennan techs arrived in the morning around 9:00 am (crew of two). They removed the existing system. Installed the new system, and cleaned up the area they worked in. The tech finished around 3:00. Overall the techs were professional and courteous and the installation looks fairly neat. Unfortunately we cannot verify/test the new system as it was installed in late November.

Overall great experience. We have used this company since we moved here and have always been very pleased with their work. They conducted an inspection of the heating unit both inside and outside. He (RJ) was very thorough and explained everything he was doing.

The company responded quickly and the technician was top notch. Unfortunately he did not have the part nor was he able to get it that day (it is a relatively common part - a circuit board for a gas furnace made by a major manufacturer). The company rescheduled him to come back the next afternoon between 1:00 and 6:00 to install the board. Thus another night without heat. And another day off work. When I sent an email indicating I was unhappy the company VP took the time to personally call and explain that the part was not universal, in fact that each maker used a different one and the many were model specific. She made sure the tech was at my house first thing that afternoon and the installation went smoothly. Still it took my very assertive email to get an answer and the company owner, pictured on the web site saying "I guarantee your satisfaction" is no longer active in the operation. Good technician but overall I feel that customers are occasionally an afterthought, not their main ereason for being. The call from the company VP however was appreciated.

Brennan's did an excellent job from start to finish. We couldn't be happier with the work that was done.

This experience again confirms that Angie's List recommended a great HVAC system engineering, installation, and service provider. So far the system has met the service levels projected by Brennan's, including over a 30% reduction in monthly operating cost. This is a minor system installation error. The lesson learned is that when you are watching your service provider while installing or servicing your system, DO ensure there are no wires positioned near enclosure doors where they could be crimped / shorted to ground.

Service man did not think it was loud, told me York is inferior brand, builders' brand - blower is hard to get at, would have to remove back of furnace, questioned whether my installer/service man had actually removed the back and replaced blower in past. Brennan rep decided not to remove and check. After he left, the furnace had a new noise - just before it comes on, there is a loud "pop" or "click" which is very annoying. I called him and he said if it's not making that noise all the time, a trip back here might not detect the problem - and that it probably will not be a problem. He also told me my furnace is a 3-stage condensing type when it is actually a 2-stage, causing me to wonder how much he knows about furnaces. This man did have a nice manner while he was here, giving me tips on taking care of the furnace.
