Paul and Julia were prompt and were ready to work. They made the removal, installation and cleanup seem so easy. We are very please with their work and our new doors.

We spent an entire Saturday with the sales reps from Paramount who did a very thorough demonstration of the performance of their window offerings. As well, they had samples of the siding and roofing that they install and explained how their products and installation methods are superior. Unfortunately, while their materials seemed to be of very good quality, their quote was substantially higher than the other estimates that we had received for the same work. In addition, they wanted us to sign a contract on the spot in order to secure the price they had quoted. Ultimately, we opted not to use them.

Everyone from sales people to installers were professional and courteous. Job was finished much faster that we anticipated and looks amazing. Can't beat their lifetime warranty on all their products either!

Paramount came by today again saying they would give me everything at cost, the conversation did not go so well and he never bothered to give me a lower quote. I also got a second quote from another GAF Master Elite Installer and I must say that Paramount’s quote is absurd to say the least. The second quote is about 1/3 of what Paramount’s was including everything they do; I can replace my roof 3 times still not spend what these guys quoted me. Now a new roof adds value and although will not be 100% return on investment it can make it much easier to sell. Paramount acts like it’s their roof that adds the value, this is just incorrect. A new roof is where the value is and not just theirs, simple as that. They also like to boast that they are the only ones that install these roofs, not true again. There are 7 businesses within 20 miles of my location all with the GAF Master Elite Installer certification. They also said that an estimated 13,000 of new roofs today is spent in materials alone, another sales pitch that is not true. GAF Camelot shingles for 30 squares (10ft x 10ft) will run about $5500 and the Timberline HD series will run you just over half that price. The Ridge vent sells for less than $100 to cover 40 ft and the underlayment will run about $300. All the miscellaneous items, depending on the house, would have a conservative cost of $1500 on top of the shingles to include the permit for the project. We also must consider that businesses buy material in bulk so they don’t normally pay retail like at Lowes and Home Depot. According this article, [*** Link removed ***] labor should between $100 and $150 per square to remove a single layer of old shingles and between $120 and $400 per square to install. On the high side labor for a 30 square roof would run no more than $12K. So with this in mind, my roof should run no more than $19k + an amount for profit. With Paramount’s $34.5k bill for a roof they would have easily made a profit of $15K off the job, also consider that they added a 25% discount(about $11000) on this price and free gutters which cost no more than $2k. This sight has a cost calculator, [*** Link removed ***] estimates that a roof of 30 Squares, a 12/12 pitch, a difficulty of medium, and 50 year shingles should range from $16k to $25k in the mid-Atlantic area which is what I would expect for material costs, labor costs, and a profit. So once again I say buyer beware, don’t use these guys unless you have money to burn.

I was in the market for a new roof, I did several hours of research on the net prior to the pitch. I was interested in the GAF roofing system with architectural shingles. They did a great job on the pitch, was very impressed with the level of detail they made. All was real good until they gave me the price. Their main office had told me that I would get a 25% discount and seamless gutters in the deal because they failed to give me an estimate the last time they came by. The price was 34k and change which would put the job in the range of 45k+. The internet places the price range of about 7500 to 17500 for my size house with a footprint of 2k SQ FT and a 9/12 pitch roof. The sales person had skewed these numbers by over 100% that prices for homes in my area for this size home low are at 18k to 34k. I cannot find any documentation whatsoever to support this amount. I already had two estimates before they even showed up, one for 8k with gutters and 10k with gutters, they were playing baseball in Yankee stadium when the game was football in Candlestick park( I know). They try to use the 50 year warranty to sell the product except its GAF that warranties the product and not Paramount. If you do the research, you will find that its the install that is important which in this case is Paramount, there price says it all. They also pitch the master elite installer, they are not the only ones in the area and with the reviews here on Angie's list, they are about a quarter of the price of Paramount. I have an estimate coming tomorrow with them, we shall see how it goes. This company preys on the ignorance of people, buyer beware.

The overall experience was very good. My old roofing was very old, with the main house having two layers. Even though there weren't any leaks, I knew it was time for new roofing. While the door to door lead in had me slightly leary, after I agreed to have the sales pitch next day, it went well...the young ladywent through the standard pitch, then added some points relating to top quality materials, their installers being fully certified by GAF, etc... The installers showed up just as scheduled, and dug right in removing the old roofing. Because of two layers, and having the garage roof done as well, it took a day and a half to complete, and they were very particular in cleaning up. Others have said their prices are high, and I agree to a point. However, having the highest quality in materials, and a very careful installation, relieves any anxiety. Overall, very well done, and no problems yet...

Outstanding from start to finish. It is the second time I solicited assistance from this company, In 2004, I had used this company to install new windows in my home in Chesopeian Colony, which was a waterfront property. I was amazed at the difference the windows made in my heating and cooling bills. Still today, I have a family member who resides in that house, and the windows look precisely the way they did in 2004 when I bought them. In the home I am in now, I moved into it in 2014 and at the time, I knew I was going to have to purchase new windows. When I accommodated the expense into the budget, I immediately called Derek Hass with Paramount Builders once again, as I knew that the quality of the product was second to none. Derek has been with Paramount for many years and I was fortunate that I was able to reach him and he immediately came out to take care of measurements, estimates, and explained everything to me. This company has an outstanding reputation for quality, sales, and service, and they earn it every single day.

Initial visit with the salesperson went well and the display and examples of the products and the heat test was impressive. Purchased windows and door and signed contract with a three day cancellation clause. After doing more research we decided the price was too high and canceled. The next day we were contacted and the price dropped by 2800. We were amazed at the markup. When the windows and doors arrived the installation went smoothly and In my opinion went quickly. Installers were friendly and appeared to us to really know their business. Approximately two hours later, the door would not shut and no amount of forcing would close the door. Approximately 2 inches remained for full closure. We immediately called the company who called the installer. The installer promptly returned the call and said that the door needed to adjust to the temperature and that it would close when the temperature stabilized. Initially the door did close and we were able to lock it that night. The next day we again could not close the door after opening. The only way to close the door was to take two people, with one pulling on the handle and another pushing against the partition between the two glass doors. This started over 3 months of hassle and many phone calls to get action, any action. While showing our new expensive windows and doors to our neighbor, he remarked, why are your screens not the right size. Wow, our expensive and supposed great quality windows did in fact have the wrong screens. We contacted the company and of course they did not believe us. A representative came out and found the serial numbers off the windows and recording them, still not fixing the door problem. Yet another person comes out to look at the door problem. He was nice but in training and did not have an answer the the door or screen problem. After many calls and two canceled or no show appointments we were contacted and told they were going to order a transition piece between the two doors. Still no screens or closed door. On and On and On this went. We were told that the screens were finally in. We asked if we could have them brought out and the reply was that they would wait for the door transition. Too much trouble for them I guess. Finally the door was scratched up and scrapped from 3 months of attempting to close this $3000 door. I finally put my foot down and asked for a new door because of all the damage. I was told they had a product that was made to take out the scratches. I said no way. During this entire time we were repeatedly told the screens were waiting for the part or the door to come in or the door was waiting for the screens. I am totally amazed at the incompetence shown through this entire comic scenario. One of the original sales people got testy on the phone with my wife and pronounced that they don't make mistakes and stormed over to find out that they did. There is more to this, much more and I am running out of energy trying to figure out how so many people could be so messed up and the company make money. My only joy came from my wife and I telling two of our neighbors under no circumstance purchase windows from these clowns. Go to the last Ringling Brothers Circus instead. You are going to love this part,. .........When finally the door and windows did arrive, we were told by the installer that he noticed that the screens did not fit from day one. REALLY!!!!!! REALLY!!!!!!!!Did he tell us? No. Did he tell his superiors? YES YES YES. Would I buy from them again? NO NO NO We requested to talk to the owner but were denied time and time again. We never did and it is probably for the best because if he knew what was going on he would sell the business. I am upset yes!!!!!!!! Would I buy from them again there are only two chances, SLIM AND NONE

They do everything, they don't only do windows, siding, all kinds of things. It was good, they did a very excellent job. I can 't complain about anything. It took them about 2 weeks. 

Price wise it was was reasonable. They did a good job. They came back to check that the job was done right. I recommend them and I would definitely use them again.
