I was truly impressed with the service tech, Nahum.  We went to each property together.  He checked out each unit thoroughly and explained what he was doing.  The townhouse did need to have some repairs done which he did the same day after going out to purchase the part.  I paid him once the repairs were completed.   My condo will be needing a new unit within the year and Nahum gave me a price on a replacement.
I was considering having Guy Smith do the replacement in the summer when my tenant goes on vacation, but now Guy Smith is sending me a bill advising I need to pay them an additional $149.00 !! I do not know why they are sending me a bill since I purchased an agreement for each property and I paid for the repairs at the townhouse at the time of service. I have receipts for all of this.
I am very disappointed with their accounting department. after this incident and as a result,  I will probably go with another company to replace my HVAC unit this summer.

The service went great. Original problem was the heater quit working.
As told over the phone when I called to Guy Smith Heating & Cooling. The technician, Mr. John Shaffer called prior to and informed me he was making his way to my residence and was 10 to 15 minutes away. John arrived on time as estimated. Spouse and I already had a ladder ready for him. After he arrived and gave him everything we knew about the issue,  up to the attic he went. Within just a few minutes he came back down and told me a few updates, the pilot was lighting and a few other details. He stated he needed a few more minutes to figure out what was going on. As he began to go back to the attic, my family and I were able to sit down to dinner (being after 6pm), and have dinner as normal.
It only seemed to be 10 minutes later when he came back down from the attic upstairs to inform us that a capacitor had blown. He was able to give me an estimate of repair within minutes, and 10 minutes later have the part installed and our heater working again. Company was found here on Angies List after reading several pages of great and amazing reviews. Thanks Guy Smith!

I was impressed by the time spent inspecting everything and the effort to completely refill freon in our system.  That made our unit produce cooler temperatures than with any other service in the past few years

We signed up for the early bird A/C tune up coupon. When the technician came out we expressed concerns regarding our furnace as well. Instead of telling us we'd have to schedule a seperate appt. for that check, he was willing to look at that also, which we greatly appreciated. He was very knowledgeable and willing to show us everything he was checking as he was doing it. He was also a very kind person and pet friendly.

Great service, although there was some damage to the attic access and ceiling. They sent someone else back in a few days to make the repairs, which were completed in a professional manner. I used Guy Smith again a few weeks later to make repairs on one of our rental homes. They were prompt and professional.

I came home from work on Monday 03.04.13 and the house was cold inside. I tried to relight the pilot light several times but it would not work. Called Guy Smith because they had come out this summer to check out my heating system boiler through Angie's List coupon. I was told the unit was in pretty good shape for its age. I called the service about 6:30 pm. The tech called me back and said he would be here in about an hour. He was. He tried to light the pilot and it would not work. Told me it was probably the thermocouple. He replaced thermocouple in the gas fired boiler.  Works like new even though the unit is quite old. The tech answered all my questions and did not mind that I watched him do his work and also was in-an-out in about 1 1/2 hours.

John Schafer and Hamza were friendly, courteous and did the tune-up. When they did the tune-up they found the ultra violet system - which checks for mold and mildew burned out and they replaced this.   On another furnace I have the bulb had been burn out and they replaced it as well.

There was an overflow (of condensation) making our unit not up to code. They fixed this for me allowing it to be current or up to code.

They were on time and would recommend these two guys to anyone.

I bought the $99 deal on this site for annual HVAC maintainace.  I called and was able to schedule for the heating check the next day.  The tech came and spent about 30 min... he informed me that I may need to replace the 'draft motor' soon.  Huge coencidnce when I came home from work the next day to find my house freezing cold at 60 degrees (it was one of the super cold and rainy days last week), very cold!  I go to the basement and find......the draft motor that the tech refered to the day before was not running, hummm.  Anyway, I called and told them the furnace is not working, spoke with a super snotty women named Mia.  She told me the earliest they could get the part would be Tuesday.  This was clearly not an option, it was Friday and it was supposed to drop to the 30's outside and possibly snow over the weekend...no heat, no go.  I said that wouldn't work and I'd have to find another company.  While on the phone with another company Mia called back and literrally told me she, 'went above and beyond' and found the part and would be able to schudle me for the next tech.  Great!  Thanks!  Well after 3 phone calls and 4 and 1/2 hrs later a tech arrived.  The third phone call to try to find out an ETA for the tech Mia litterally yelled at me, asked me what made my money 'greener' than others?, told me that she wishes customers (I would like to point out the word CUSTOMER) would understand how many people call in and how she has to deal with people needing their heating fixed ( I would like to point out...THAT'S YOUR JOB), finally I asked to speak with a manager and said 'oh my gosh', she then hung up on me.  I called back and asked to speak to a manager, at that point a women named Tina (I think) said she heard the tail end of that phone call, and that Mia was sent home for the rest of the day (it was 4pm), she apooglized several times.  I asked to speak with a manager and she told me she would have Ken call me on Tuesday.  Ken called on Monday, the phone connection was so bad I couldn't understand most of what he was saying, he asked to call back and that he was having trouble with the phone lines.  He called back, I explained what had happened, he said he 'talked' with Mia, the phone started to cut out again and I told him I couldn't hear him, he then hung up (or we got disconnected) and he NEVER called back!
I used this company based off the reviews and the 'deal', this deal turned out to be a total of $729!!!!  and a LOT of rudeness.  Don't do it!  There has to be a company out there that will earn your hard earned money through good service, respect and quality work.  Their slogan is 'how can we make you smile?' Seriously?  How about you not yell at me or hang up on me?  I am still NOT smiling.

He was prompt. He was not only able to inspect it but he was able to show what I need to upgrade. He pointed out a certain part of my furnace that needs to be corrected and he explained why. He explained what it would do if it wasn't corrected. He was able to show me something that potentially could cost me more money than what it would cost to fix it. The price was fair and in competition with everybody else. He was able to show up at almost the exact time they scheduled me for.  He knew what he was talking about. He was very professional on how he was dressed and the way he conducted himself.

The service overall was very good, it lasted a little over an hour.
The $59.00 cost was reasonable; I never would have paid the normal advertised price of $250.00 for this service that took a little over an hour.
While he was here he cleaned the coil.  That took about 5 mins at an additional cost of $48.00.  You kind of expect to get hit w/an additional charge w/an advertised deal like this.  This seemed unreasonable for that short of time since the mechanic was already here.
One problem that I have, that I did not have before they came is my thermostat.  When he took it off to calibrate and level it, it has not been accurate since, it was accurate before.  In defense of them, I never called back about it.
The mechanic was very professional and polite.
I still would consider them when when I am ready to get estimates for other new work that I have planned, even w/the issues that I have identified.

Technician was on time and knowledgeable. Worked quickly and thoroughly to check proper operation of furnaces. Did not clean any filters, which I have seen included in other company's annual service plans. The service was worth the price paid.

The diagnostic/maintenance couldn't be completed because the system wasn't functioning. The technician did however confirm what parts were faulty and was able to identify another part that had failed. He provided fair options for repair or replacement. Although chose other options, I was impressed with everything about the company and the technician on site.

We called Guy Smith early in the morning and they showed up around noon.  After about 20 minutes looking at the furnace the tech told us the gas valve was bad and needed to be replaced.  Knowing the price for parts and estimating labor, we got a price back that was almost double what other companies would charge.  Along with the quote for the repair, they gave us a quote to replace the entire furnace as it had been with the house since it was built.  The initial quote seemed a bit high compared to some of the specials that they were running, however what the specials were versus the furnace we needed was different.  However the sales manager was about to drop another 200 dollars, and we got a new furnace with everything extra needed to be done for $2,400.  The set up an appointment for Monday (3 days after the visit) to do the install, and were extremely efficient. My biggest complaint above all has to be that just a few months before we had this same company out on a furnace PM special to come out before winter started.  The tech performed a "PM" which he indicated nothing was wrong with the furnace and painted a much different picture than the tech that came out just last week.

In our  office the 8 year old heat pump was not operating efficiently so we called  Guy Smith. The technician put in a new thermostadt and a Hard start kit. We continued to have the same problem so we called them back. We were told it would cost $1000 + parts to fix it properly and were encouraged to buy a new heat pump for $5300.00 because this one was worn out.
I said I would get a second opinion and was told they would match any price we got for a new unit.
I called another company and they said all we had was a pin hole in the copper tubing causing the refridgerant to leak out. The technician repaired it for $381.00.

l Pre-Paid for the HVAC check out diagnostic offered by Angie's list.
Guy Smith Heating and Cooling were very good working with my crazy schedule and reminding me about I had this service pending.
We finally found a day that worked, I was given time window for the tech's arrival and told I would be called prior to his arrival. I got the call the tech (Hamza) was on the way. Shortly after that he arrived. He checked the thermostat and proceeded to the unit. For safety, he pulled the electrical fuse block near the unit. He proceeded to check out potential problem areas that may need attention now or in the near future. I was impressed with the thoroughness, obvious expertise, and professional service.
For me, this was a good experience. It was a good value (I don't remember what I paid), but I was satisfied with the price when I bought it. Both people I worked with (Kathy-office and Hamza-Tech) company were polite, professional and easy to work with.
Bottom line, if (when) I need the HVAC service again, I will look to Guy Smith Heating and Cooling and request Hamz as the tech.

The two employees were very nice, informative and efficient.  However, the one thing that bothered me was their pricing for parts and labor.  They identified one part that I needed to have replaced and since they couldn't finish their inspection without the part working I had to purchase it from them.  The markup for the part was several hundred percent higher than what I would have paid at Grainger.  I could have bought the part for like $60 and installed it in 5 minutes.  They charged me $300.  I found this out only after everything was done.
So to summarize they did a great job, but the pricing is outrageous.
