Dan, and his team, Adam and Chris did a fantastic job!!!
I was so impressed with their thoroughness. They event had video links in the online report to show me what they found under the house, including the moisture content test in real time.WOW!!! I would have paid twice what it cost, to have the peace of mind I have now.
They even went back and re-inspected the items we had the sellers fix so I know the repairs were done and done right. Great job guys THANK-YOU!
Response from Final Analysis Home Inspections
"It's funny you mention paying twice what it cost for an inspection. If I had a dollar for every customer that said that, I could retire. Before the inspection most people are concerned about the price, Post inspection they are shocked about the value of our thorough and detailed inspection and what it really could have cost without one. Now if I could just find a way to double the price and still get people to call us....:) Thank you for your faith and trust in our company and thanks for this nice review. Wishing you the very best in your home."

Brilliant! Reuben was punctual, thorough, and extremely well versed in every aspect of home inspections. He answered every question I had and then some. He was able to point out one very important item which may be costly to me in the near future and which definitely changes my comfort level about buying this home.
Response from Final Analysis Home Inspections
"Reuben is extremely conscientious and knowledgeable. Even in that condo where everything seemed OK, one small thing can make a huge difference. The smallest hole can sink a ship. Thanks for your great review and for your business. Wishing you only the best."

This is the third house that Dan has inspected for our family and I trust him and his crew to give me a honest assessment of the house that we are considering for purchase.  I would use and recommend Final Analysis again. They are super nice too!

Excellent experience from beginning to end. Staff is professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous. The report is very detailed and includes pictures and explanations. I called afterwards with a question about my unbalanced overhead garage door that was listed in the report and Dan patiently explained why it was an issue. I highly recommend Final Analysis.
Response from Final Analysis Home Inspections
"It's all about precise, detailed, purposeful scrutiny of a home and it's systems that will illuminate it's conditions and defects. We also report safety issues that can cause damage, harm or injury because we don't want anyone to get hurt. Garage doors are guilty of many deaths and property damage. We take them for granted but they are a heavy, complicated and potentially volatile piece of equipment. Thanks for your wonderful review. Wishing you all the best."

My husband and I are in the process of purchasing a property. Our realtor recommended Final Analysis Property to do the inspection. We had to wait a few days because they were so booked up, but they were well worth the wait. I'm so glad we decided to go with them. The 3 men that inspected the property were very professional, very thorough, and clear to understand. This being our first home purchase, I know very little about electrical outlets, plumbing, and hvac. They explained it all perfectly, without making me feel overwhelmed or, like many companies tend to do, act like I was un-intelligent when I had a question.
They gave amazing feedback on the spot, and they sent the very-detailed inspection report within 2 hours.
I would recommend them to anyone, and will only use them in the future.
Response from Final Analysis Home Inspections
"A huge part of a home inspectors job is to sort out all the findings and present them in a comprehensive manner so you know exactly what you're getting. That's why you hire an expert, someone you can rely upon to give you straight advice. The companies that treat clients unintelligent are just showing their own ignorance. Thank you for the trust and confidence you placed in our company and thank you for your wonderful feedback here on Angie's List. Your opinion is important to us. Wishing you all the best!"

I went with Final-Analysis based on the excellent reviews they've received everywhere I looked (Angie's List, Google, Facebook) and was impressed with what Dan had to say, his insight and views on the process when I called him. FA is at the higher end of the price spectrum based on the quotes I received at other places, but I generally don't mind paying a higher price for something as critical as a home purchase, or any service for that matter, because 1) it warrants higher expectations for the service on my end, and 2) in my experience is indicative of how a business views itself and what it brings to the table for their client. That said, Adam, Reuben, and Chris exceeded my expectations. That's right, I had a crew of 3 extremely professional, knowledgeable, and helpful home inspectors. Not just one. I was surprised as were my agent and the seller's agent. It sure seems like a smart and efficient way to thoroughly inspect a home and they worked very well as a team. It's also reassuring to know there were three sets of eyes looking at and evaluating the home . They arrived 30 minutes early as they were coming from Va Beach to Newport News and wanted to ensure they had time to navigate the bridges/tunnels. They got right to work upon arrival and already had the roof and backyard area done when I arrived. Adam filled me in on what they had found so far and informed me on how they were going to approach the rest of the inspection. They encouraged me to ask questions of any of them at anytime, invited me to follow them around and look around on my own as well. They were extremely professional and accommodating throughout. I can't state enough how impressed I was with all of them. They answered all of my questions, were able to put things I was unfamiliar with in layman's terms, explained how certain issues can affect other things or lead to other problems, things to keep in mind for the future, gave me rough estimates, a ballpark idea on what certain things might/should cost to repair, and even offered some objective opinions on who some of the better contractors were whose work they had encountered before and were impressed by. It's really worth repeating how thorough they were. Both realtors, probably with 40 years combined experience, both commented on it numerous times and were asking questions about their approach and methods. "Why are you running the water for so long?", "Why are you running multiple water sources simultaneously?", "Why do you turn on all the fans?". The answers to some of these questions might seem obvious, but the fact the agents were asking these questions (and perhaps one even seemed a little perturbed) reaffirmed my confidence in the quality and thoroughness of the work being done and my decision to go with FA over one of the agent "recommended" or cheaper inspectors. Dan and the FA crew make it abundantly clear they are your representative/advocates in the process. They work for you and their goal is to make you wholly aware and fully informed. That's extremely reassuring in a business where at times it can seem like many people involved have an incentive to push things through for their own interests. At the end of the inspection Adam went line by line over everything they encountered/found and gave me detailed explanations and put things in perspective for me. He highlighted the main issues he felt required immediate attention and answered all of my follow up questions. As they were packing up Reuben saw my agent and I looking at and discussing some of the issues they brought to light and stopped to check if we had any questions or wanted any more clarification. These guys had a a drive and full day ahead of them with more inspections, but they didn't leave until they were sure I was satisfied. Again, extremely professional. Adam encouraged me to contact him with any new or follow up questions I had, and if I wanted his opinion on contractors or quotes I received for work that needed to be done. I'm extremely grateful for that as much of this is new to me. Within a few hours my full, and extremely detailed, inspection report was available online. You can access it anytime, print it out, save it to your computer, and even conveniently forward it to other parties where they get a unique password to view what you choose to share (be it the summary, full report, moisture/termite report, etc.) The report is thorough. It breaks everything down step by step, area by area. They take tons of pictures. They highlight, circle, use arrows in the pictures to point out exactly what they're writing up and there's a detailed explanation of why they're marking something as red (serious) or yellow (needs attention) and what they recommend as corrective action. It's extremely invaluable as point of negotiating. There's nothing ambiguous or really up for interpretation/argument on the other parties end. The proof is always right there in pictures and a detailed paragraph. They dot all the 'i's and cross all the 't's. And to offer a real terms example so this just doesn't seem like fluff, they found a vent pipe to an underground/buried heating oil storage tank that wasn't disclosed by the sellers. Google "underground oil tank problems" if you're unfamiliar with the potential nightmare these things can be. Sellers that are aware of the presence of an underground tank are legally obligated/required to disclose it. I'm not accusing anyone of anything and I try to give the benefit of the doubt, but it seems there are a lot of stories out there where sellers play dumb and hope no one notices... and once you it's your house; it's your problem/responsibility ($$$$). Adam wrote the presence of a buried tank up on the report. Now the sellers are fully aware and there's a paper trail proving it. I used that to strengthen my my position/insistence that it be remedied and any potential problems be remediated. It may potentially save me a lot of money and headache. That's my experience with Final Analysis. Extremely satisfied, will use again, can't recommend them enough.

"holy mackerel !! This review is amazing. You really reinforce our company values with your reflection on the details of your experience. You hit on all the bases...It's nice to know clients are watching and taking notice of what we do and how we do it. Inspecting a home for a client is not a "passing fancy", it's up close and personal and must be in order to coax out the silent edifices of any hidden secrets. Just like that tiny little oil tank vent that was barely noticeable. A passing glance would have missed what could have been a big expense on you. A house will tell on itself, if you take the time to get to know it. Thanks a million!! wishing you all the very best."

This team was very professional. They came into the house, explained what they were going to do throughout the house, and let me know to ask questions while I was walking around with them. They were essentially wanting to find anything and everything wrong with the house that they inspect for under the specific required codes. And you want them to find anything wrong with the house. It took just under 2 hours and when they were done, they gave me a verbal rundown of things they found to be safety concerns and things that would need attention. He then explained how to read the report once it's complete and said to keep the report since there is important information such as model numbers for the a/c unit and the water heater. He let me know I would receive an email once the report was ready and could be found on the website with my login information. It was very informative and they were very professional. I would use there services in the future and recommend them to any purchasing a home.

This is the third time I've used Final-Analysis and I won't use any other inspector. Their reports are thorough and I've had selling agents say to me that they were nervous that FA was my home inspector because they are recognized as one of the better groups. They are personable, on time, and thorough.
Response from Final Analysis Home Inspections
"It's true about some agents being nervous because they are afraid our discoveries and disclosures may upset the closing which is their payday. But the successful agents want a great inspection for their buyers and they'll get call back again and again too. We are grateful that you continue to use our company year after year and it means a lot that you would share your experiences here on Angieslist. Wishing you all the best."

First of all I found this company on Angie's list because of their amazing reviews. I trust Angie's list and the reports submitted. I called Dan and talked to him a little about his business and the process. Talking to him along with his great reviews assured me I could 100% trust Dan and his team would do an excellent and very thorough inspection of our new home.
The appointment was easy to set up online and nice reminders were given closer to the inspection date.
Dan and his team arrived on time and went straight to work. There were 3 inspectors that covered every inch of our new 5,000 sq ft home.
After the inspection Dan walked me through the home and gave me a briefing on any items he thought he should bring to my attention. We then met as a group with his 2 other inspectors and my realtor and went through any other details in as much or as little detail as I wanted. I didn't feel rushed at all and all 3 inspectors were very comfortable with providing their honest and independent feedback on the home.
Dan reinforced a couple of times he'd be available for any follow up questions we had once we had read through their very well documented inspections reports. They emailed me the inspection reports that very same evening.
I was very pleased with the work performed by this company and would highly recommend them to anyone buying a new home in this area. Thanks Dan and team for your great work!

The inspectors arrived as scheduled and completed a home inspection while also taking pictures and videos of all the areas they inspected. The pictures included the roof, crawl space, and their measuring the temperature of the water and heating and cooling vents. We were not able to be physically present at the inspection, but it was so detailed that I felt I could trust Dan Rogers completely. I recommend Final Analysis with no reservations and find their services worth every penny.

They did a very thorough job, and found several issues of importance that would have otherwise been overlooked. They were on time on both occasions, professional and courteous. They not only pointed out issues of concern, but took the time to educate as to how problems should and could be addressed. The reports were very thorough and contain pictures and videos which were extremely helpful. Dan has always been responsive to phone calls when I had questions concerning the inspection report. He always has his clients best interests at heart. I would use Final-Analysis again should the situation warrant and would highly recommend their services.

I showed up early to the home and they were already there. They did not begin until I arrived even though the builder left the door open for them. While performing the inspection they were more than happy to stop and answer questions my realitor, myself or anyone else had. They were quick and thorough. I received the report within an hr of the inspection because they updated the report while they worked. The report provided me with pictures and specific details on certain maintenance I will need to accomplish while in my home. I am happy I chose Final Analysis.

This was a short notice inspection request for a new home I just had built and I was very pleased how they were able to get me scheduled within a few days from me making contact.  Final Analysis Home Inspections showed up right on time.

After introductions and a little discussion of game plan with Dan, Adam and Chris, they got started with their thorough inspections of house construction to include everything from rooftop to soil condition of crawlspace and around the house for drainage.  Examples of systems inspections included electrical, HVAC, plumbing and installed appliances to include hot water heater, gas stovetop, and gas fireplace.  Come to find out I had a continuous small leak of propane in my fireplace!!!

I would say the inspection time took around 2 to 3 hours to complete and was very educational for me as well.  That evening I was able to view, email, save and print an electronic report which included pictures and videos. This report is extremely in depth to include all items checked.  What I liked most was all discrepancies were accompanied by pictures and videos when needed.

Dan, Adam, and Chris were extremely qualified, professional and knowledgeable.  I most strongly recommend Final Analysis Home Inspections to perform their inspections for anyone contemplating buying a house or business.  There qualifications accompanied with such a detailed report only makes since for anyone making such a large investment.

There may be others out there you can get for less money but I feel confident I would not have gotten such a thorough inspection and detailed report.
Response from Final Analysis Home Inspections
"Thank you for your amazingly detailed and precise review. It is quite on honor that you selected our company to inspect your beautiful custom home with all it's complexities. As you know, even new homes can have issues. That's become somewhat normal to expect these days and as such a good inspection has become an integral part of the process...even on real nice custom new construction. I wish you all the best as you continue forward working with your builder on getting some of those issues corrected."

We are first time home buyers and had no clue about anything. Dan and Adam inspected the homes very thorough and talked and explained everything to us. We were beyond happy with them! They actually did 2 home inspections for us. They found things the first seller didn't Wana replace. So we walked and was happy to call Dan for the second house we found. I would absolutely recommend them!

I cannot say enough good things about Final Analysis.  The lead inspector was Adam Comeau who was both extremely knowledgeable and friendly.  More details are below but the bottom line is these guys are 100% there for the homeowner.  They do not affiliate with any particular realtors or builders and rather stick to providing phenomenal professional expertise and great customer service as the basis for their business.  They identified several discrepancies with my HVAC system that were not up to code and never should have passed inspection the first time - it literally saved me thousands of dollars in future repairs.  Finally, Adam even went as far as to send me a handwritten thank you note in the mail - something that I think is unheard of in this day and age

Throughout the process of selling my old home and the construction/purchase of my new home, I dealt with numerous contractors for various service items and repairs - none of them came anywhere close to providing the level of expertise and customer service provided by Final Analysis.  I was able to get an appointment scheduled on the exact date at the exact time I wanted and the team showed up promptly and got right to work.  Adam Comeau and his team were knowledgeable and friendly and conducted a thorough inspection of my home from top to bottom that included the roof, the attic, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc - essentially the entire the interior and exterior of the home and all installed systems with the exception of the well and septic system.  During the inspection they took photos and walked me through the various discrepancies they found and also provided tips on simple home improvements I could do myself to make my home more comfortable.  Later that SAME DAY I received a detailed report explaining all the items that were inspected as well the discrepancies along with photos of what was wrong and how it should be fixed.  For example, the drain line on my air conditioner evaporator coil is installed incorrectly - Final Analysis provided a photo both of how it is configured now (incorrectly) along with a diagram of what it should look like when it's fixed.  That way when the warranty company comes out to do the repairs I can verify they were done correctly.  Additionally, they pointed out that the AC condenser is undersized relative to the size of the house and the evaporator coil - which explains why my condenser ran near continuously throughout the summer!  They provided me with the relevant building code and an explanation on how the system should be configured to get it fixed.  Overall I was able to easily translate their report into warranty work requests with my homebuilder.

Initially I questioned whether or not a home inspection on a brand new home was required, but I am so supremely thankful I called Final Analysis.  In addition to the HVAC problems mentioned above they also found several problems with my plumbing that were not up to code and never should have passed inspection in the first place.  Final Analysis was 100% worth it and I would undoubtedly recommend them to anyone needing a home inspection.
Response from Final Analysis Home Inspections
"Thank you for your wonderful and detailed review of our services. Adam Comeau is one of the best inspectors in southeast Virginia and we are soooo fortunate to have him in our employ. He is highly competent and detailed to a fault and always has the customers best interest in mind. Even new construction can have significant issues that municipal code inspections don't cover such as your HVAC defects. A professional and detailed inspection report will give you leverage when negotiating repairs with the builder. A good inspection is expensive but as you mentioned, can pay for itself ten-fold. We are glad your found our services to your advantage. Wishing you all the very best in your new home."

I had Dan Rogers of Final Analysis Home Inspections come out and inspect a small home for me in Virginia Beach. This is not the first time I have had them out to inspect a property for me. I have also recommended his services to family and friends. Excellent company to do business with. They are very thorough and professional. I have a construction background and can smell BS a mile away. I particularly appreciate the online access to all my inspection reports. You can pull them up from anywhere. He provided a separate report with just the defaults and discrepancies for use with the realtors. They were very quick to respond to my request. Called them Saturday evening and had my inspection by 9:00 AM the following Tuesday. I would highly recommend using them for any residential inspection prior to purchasing.

Overall, our home inspection went really good for a house that was built in 1929 and recently renovated. As first time home buyers they definitely made this process less stressful. We were provided with very detail home inspection results the same day of our inspection. Upon sending our list of requested repairs to the seller for negotiations, we are excited to say that the seller will be fixing ALL of the major defects and deficiencies on the repairs summary! Final Analysis Home Inspections saved us lots of money for repairs and we don't have to worry after moving-in. Thank you for your wonderful service & quality work! We highly recommend them for anyone looking for quality home inspections.

Talk about an amazing and thoroughly detailed inspection report with color pictures and wonderful explanations!  I was purchasing a home which showed great, however, I still wanted a Home Inspection.  Several hidden concerns were found and many were safety issues for a total of 33 pages.  The sellers only agreed to fix the melted fuses in the electrical panel box and refused to provide a receipt.   Although nothing else was repaired, I'm thankful to have been aware of the many other issues and decided to still purchase the home. The biggest issue was that the same day Hampton Roads Termite gave the home a clean letter.  Dan and his team from Final Analysis Home Inspections came to the house right after Hampton Roads Termite left.  Through his inspection and pictures noted several issues with Termite Damage that was overlooked by Hampton Roads Termite.  I called Hampton Roads Termite the following week to let them know what my inspector found and was told they would have to go back out and 'investigate' the damage.  After several phone calls and 4 very frustrating weeks, the clean termite letter was re-issued and the damage was finally repaired by the home seller.  Not only did Final Analysis Home Inspections save me the $685 for a termite treatment, the repair was an additional $1800.  Neither Realtor was very happy with my Home Inspection Report, saying it was 'OVER THE TOP'.  Remember one thing, the inspector works for you and looks out for your best interest, not the interest of Realtors trying to make a sale.   If you're reading this, PLEASE DON'T USE THE INSPECTOR YOUR REALTOR IS TRYING TO PUSH ON YOU.  I'm confident once you do your homework that you will also choose Final Analysis Home Inspections.
A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO DAN AND HIS VERY PROFESSIONAL TEAM!!
Response from Final Analysis Home Inspections
"Wow! that's amazing. Even with the seller not wanting to fix anything you still saved almost $2500. I love that the agents think our reports are "over the top". That's a good thing for our customers because you can't be too thorough on an inspection. That's absurd. A good example is the termite damage that we found on your home after it was cleared by the sellers termite inspector. The advantage of our company is we do not have a horse in the race. We only want our client to have pure, factual, empowering information. We don't rely on agents for work and cetainly would never soften a report for the agent. We also don't sell termite contracts or treatment so there's no conflick of interest there either. Any professional that's supposed to be representing the buyer should be ashamed of themsleves if they put their personal interest over the buyer's and that goes for home inspectors, termite contractors and real estate agents. After all, they're all getting paid by the buyer at the closing. Good for you for looking out for your own best interest. We are right there with you on that. Thanks for the amazing review and we wish you the very best!"

They conducted a through inspection and provided a very detailed report with pictures.  They included standard guidelines and website links as additional information.  I received the reports the same night of the inspection (after making payment online).
