"This customer had an estimate dated February 16, 2016; a Straight Order for Service/ Bill of Lading GPP1 /W; which means the final charges are based on the guaranteed weight which is noted on the estimate; with a weight allowance credit, if the actual weight is less than the estimated weight. The estimated weight was 11,000 pounds and the actual weight was 10,380 pounds. The customer was entitled and did receive a weight credit allowance. The weight allowance credit is as follows: 11,000 minus 10,380 = 620 pounds divided by 100 = x $14.00 per hundredweight (cwt) = the weight allowance credit of $86.80. On or about March 10, 2016, the customer agreed to the binding contract terms which included the transportation of 11,000 pounds; Packing/Unpacking, Advance 3rd Party Charges at Origin and Destination for a Grandfather Clock; as well as minimum liability of $.60 per pound per article. All items and services noted on the Estimate / Bill of Lading are bound except it reads: PLUS any non-bound charges shown for Advance 3rd Party Charges (Exception Terms noted on page 3 of the signed Bill of Lading). Please Note: The Origin Advance 3rd Party Charges on the Estimate were quoted at $177.00 (Non-Bound Services); The Destination Advance 3rd Party Charges on the Estimate were quoted at $177.00 (Non-Bound Services); the actual Origin Advance 3rd Party Charges were $92.00 (decreased by $85.00); the actual Advance Destination 3rd Party Charges were $161.00 (decreased by $16.00). As stated above 3rd Party Services are non-bound items and they could increase and /or decrease. However, on this order the 3rd Party Services decreased by $101.00. The customer was entitled to and did receive a credit. Records indicate that the customer notified United Van Lines in regards to their Grandfather Clock. The customer's claim was denied, as mechanical malfunctions are not covered. The Grandfather Clock was serviced by CSNS Relocation Services. CSNS was notified and an inspection was scheduled. Per the inspection, the section that was not working properly was not a part included in transit servicing; this was not a part would've needed to touch at any time during the disassembly or re-assembly of the Grandfather Clock. We did not anticipate or foresee difficulties with this move, however we do regret that we failed to meet the customer's expectations. Thank you for allowing us to respond."

"Another great review, thanks so much for taking the time to write about your experience!"
"We were glad to be of service and pleased that you were happy with our service. We appreciate you taking the time to give us a review!"
I got a receipt the first time and they said it would only be $675 for the move. They called me the next day and they said that they are going to charge me an extra $1200. One day was for packing and one day was for moving. The move that was charged was only for $396. I saw that they were offering a deal through Angie's List and I thought that means they were providing good service. I have sent pictures to the manager about what they were using to fill the boxes. They were stuffing only 5 garments in a box that could fit at least 20.
The most important part for me was that they charged me the extra on a credit card that I had not authorized. I signed for the $675 but they charged $1896.50 without my consent. I would highly suggest that nobody uses this company. They said they are a part of united van lines but I wouldn't use them if it was my last option available.
There is a manager there (Erica Grey) told me last week that she would call me back but she hasn't responded to anything for me. She is the one that told the clerk to charge me the extra $1200. They called me and asked for the new CC date so I gave it to her.
"This was an Angie's List deal purchased by a Ms. C, not Mr. K, the actual person who moved. Originally, they purchased a "2 men for 4 hours deal" then changed their mind to a "3 men for 4 hours deal" after we informed them that it sounded like a move would require more than 2 men and we advised of the cost difference. We were told that the shipment would be completely packed and ready to be moved however, this was FAR from the case. Due to the situation, we extended a discount on boxes for him to pack himself the day of the move to help him save money. We assisted with the packing and provided more material of which he agreed to pay. This is simply a case of someone being unprepared for a large move. We emailed him the breakdown of charges so that he could understand what he agreed to and signed for, what services we provided. However, a couple weeks later he called and said he didn’t feel this was fair and again we explained the services we provided and what we did to help him move. Moving is stressful and when you purchase a deal, such as a 2-man crew for 4 hours or a 3-man crew for 5 hours, that is what you are going to get, not an unlimited amount of labor and hours. Feel free to read our other reviews in order to determine the quality and integrity of our service."
"This local, one-day move took place on November 6th and we were not alerted of any issues until December 14th. At the time, the customer didn't ask to file a claim but rather, asked if we had come across a French Horn that she realized she couldn't find. We looked for it and never found it so we called her back to let her know. We also asked the crew about it as well as our warehouse staff still without any trace of it. We called her again with the same information but got her voicemail and we never heard from her again, so we hoped that perhaps she had found it after all. We take reports of alleged theft, which are extremely rare, VERY serious and encourage our customers to involve law enforcement if need be and we fully cooperate. Unfortunately, even if additional coverage was purchased, the outcome of this situation would be the same."
"We apologize that we could not accommodate your after-hours request for an appointment and never had the opportunity to have you as a customer. However, we do thank you for your comments."
"We sincerely apologize that this move wasn't performed without incident. This is far from our normal, professional service. We identified the issue/weak link(s) the day after the delivery and took swift action to ensure that this would not happen again. Thank you for bringing the matter to our attention and should you have anything further to add or need instruction on the claims process, please call our office. We appreciate your business and hope that you are getting settled in your new home."
The office staff was helpful and friendly and went over everything with me well. The truck and movers showed up on time, were friendly and professional, and worked quickly, but carefully. They were able to make my entire move (2br/2ba) for me within the amount of time I had purchased, which was wonderful because I was on a tight budget.
They even let me have use of moving boxes for free!
All in all, a great experience and I unreservedly recommend their service.
"We are glad that you were completely satisfied with our service and hope you enjoy your new home!"
"We'll be sure to pass your great comments onto the crew! Thanks for taking the time to review."
