He ignored me when I told him I was sleeping. I started to cry and ignore me again. He gave me new medication but forgot to give me new refills. When I called him, he refused to call me back. I have only 3 pills left and the front desk did not care. If you have anxiety don't you think this would make it worse?

Description of Work: Appointment was for couples counseling. The counselor (Karen Johnson) was not equipped to handle our situation which was very complex . In the first 15 minutes of only one visit she, without hesitation or complete information, sided with my husband. Regarding the facility....make sure you have an extra 20 minutes to stay tethered to the phone on hold trying to get through to a human. Expect to be seen 30 minutes or more after your appointment time. Don't bother to submit a letter of complaint to the facility director, Melissa Barker about the staff providers. If and when she eventually responds, it will be with the following: "we can't address that issue". I had to suffer a biased counselor and a supervisor who could care less. I wouldn't have posted this review if the facility had not blown me off after I specifically asked for feedback. I'don't know anyone I dislike enough to recommend Atlantic Psychiatric Services to. If you come to APS for help you'll be taking a chance.

Description of Work: Family members have been treated at APS on and off over the years. It has become too large and impersonal. The final straw was a prescription that we had submitted to a local pharmacy in December. They had questions about the dosage and called APS at least three times for clarification from the doctor or a staff member. Almost three weeks have passed, and the pharmacy has still not heard back from either one. They suggested we contact APS which we did, and still no response. We won't be going back.

One nightmare after another. The staff seldom returns calls. The voicew mail message of the person in charge of prescriptions is she will return your call at her convenience. She returned none of my calls.
Description of Work: I went for pschotherapy. The administration of this organization is absolutely terrible. It will literally drive you more insane than when you started.

The first time I called, I was placed on hold for a time, then asked to leave my name and contact information. They did not call back that day. (According to the office hours indicated on their phone message, they had several hours to do so that day.) The next day, I called again, was asked to leave name and contact information, and was called back about 3 hours later. After taking my name and the name of the referring physician, the "new patient coordinator" informed me that, before we could see anyone at their facility, we would have to terminate any ongoing therapy provided by any psychologists, counselors, or therapists outside of their office. I was appalled that such a requirement would be levied by an office administrator as a prerequisite for treatment. I _might_ understand such a request by a doctor _after_ an evaluation, as a condition for a continued relationship, particularly if there was reason to question the efficacy of current treatment. But before even seeing the patient? Before even gathering the basic information on why we were seeking an appointment? Naturally, I declined. I asked the coordinator the reason for the policy and she simply said that it was an administrative policy to insure that all care for a patient should come from within their practice.
Description of Work: We were referred to Atlantic Psychiatric Services by a family physician for a specialized evaluation of the appropriateness of a prescribed medication.
