Atlantic Coast Contractors

Initially my experience with Atlantic Coast Contractors was favorable. So favorable that I wrote a glowing review after the installation. However,  after the installation of my Carrier A/C unit and furnace, around June 10, 2015, I noticed a drastic increase in the house temperature and called John Callahan to report the issue.  My calls went unanswered time after time and when I finally reached him, he said his own AC unit could not compete with the outside temperature.  It was uncomfortable throughout the summer months to the point that I left the house to go to the stores for cooling comfort.  Voice message after voice message was left in desperate attempts to contact Mr. Callahan.  My emails to him went unanswered.  Before long the one year mark came and any recourse I had went by the wayside.  Seven voice mails and two emails went unanswered.  I had to call in another company and learned that Atlantic Coast either failed to put the full amount of Freon in my unit when it was installed or I had a leak in the line.  I put Freon in TWICE and still have to pay $185 for some test and then $1,400 to find the leak!
I warn anyone thinking about hiring Atlantic Coast Contractors to think twice.  THEY DO NOT STAND BY THEIR WORK or honor their warranty on the installation.  I paid $9,500 for work that is not satisfactory.  NO PERMITS were obtained and no city inspections were ordered. I did not know a permit was required.  Now, I smell gas in my garage and have to deal with a problem with the heater and probably the city because the work was performed without a permit.  I checked out the licenses and insurance of Atlantic Coast thinking I was doing what I should to protect myself-but I was not aware that a permit to replace a unit was necessary. I need to consult an attorney now

I contracted with John Callahan and Luke Jones to replace my heating and air conditioning unit in August of 2014.  I purposely waited to write a review to see what kind of follow-up I could expect and I am pleased to say that John and Luke responded to every question or concern I had.  My thermostat needed replacement and Luke was at my home 30 minutes after I notified him that I didn't have any heat!  I was so impressed with Atlantic Coast Contractors that I had them totally replace my duct system.  These gentlemen are reliable, knowledgeable  and very personable.  They have extended me every courtesy and gave me the fairest prices imaginable in this competitive market.  TWO THUMBS UP for these guys!  I am not easily satisfied but these contractors met my every expectation.
