They were really great. I was able to get an appointment the next morning after I called. The technicians were quick and professional. He even drove across town to get the correct part, since the next day it was supposed to be hot (around 100 degrees). I'm happy with their services.

I arrived home to find that our AC unit was dead, and our house was 80 degrees and climbing. After calling 3 different top rated companies from Angies List, who all informed me they could come over the evening of the next day. I finally called Advantage. The office administrator/receptionist, was very sweet and courteous and assured me they would come out ASAP. I received a call from the technician in less than an hour as promised. He informed me he'd be at our home in 20 minutes and he was. Mike arrived and checked out our system to find that the capacitor had blown. He replaced it, then fixed the wires to make the fan spin in the right direction (thereby fixing the noise and vibration that it emitted since we purchased the home about a year ago.) The entire repair took about half an hour. I was also able to use the Angies List coupon reducing the unit check fee from $89 to $59. The entire repair cost $190, and they take credit cards. Very happy, not only that it turned out to be a quick and relatively inexpensive fix, but also that we found a reputable and affordable company to take care of our unit.

I arrived home on Friday 5/17 to find my central A/C was not working. As it was late I waited until the next morning to call anyone. I checked Angie's list and chose Advantage based on the number of highly satisfied customers. I called just before 8 am. The young lady who answered the phone said someone would call me back to set up an appointment. About 8:45, a technician called and said he was very busy but would get to me that day, sometime after noon. About noon he called saying he was on his way. He arrived about 12:30, went right to work and quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad fan motor on the outside unit. He luckily had the correct motor on his truck. By 3:30 he had replaced the motor, added refrigerant and tested the system. A month later it is still running beautifully. I strongly recommend this company. I am very satisfied.

Used this company because of the positive reviews on Angies list and was not disappointed. My work was scheduled at my convenience and two follow up calls were made to me to confirm. Very nice gesture. The technician was on time, rare these days and accomplished his work in a timely fashion. He cleaned up after himself and was very polite and kind. He provided me with a detailed receipt of work performed and fully answered my questions. I will most definitely use this business again.

The master switch was turned off, causing the fan not to work. The technician then went outside to ensure the equipment was in good working order, then wrote up the invoice for the visit fee. In and out in 20 minutes. Although I wish I would have noticed the switch was turned off before I called a service company and saved $89, I did not feel ripped off at all by the excellent service provided by the company..

overall the price was excellent - service was very good. completed the job in on day using two crews. concerns: one new crew member tracked mud and dirt through out the house. crew had to be reminded by myself to correctly hook up the condensation pump safety switch. overall a very good experience

Exceptional service. Office personnel whom scheduled the service did a great job, the technician did a great job. I called on a Friday, and they came to fix the issue on the Monday. I was so impressed by the service I shfted my AC service contract to them. Previous contracted company couldn't diagnose or fix the problem.

It went really well. I found them on Angie's List and had two other companies from Angie's List come out to look at it. It's an old house with a certain design and restrictions. All three of them came up with reasonable bids and I liked this company a little better. They were very prompt when they came out first thing in the morning. They worked from 8-4:30. They said they'd be done in 3 days and they were done in 3 days. They cleaned up and everything. They had a thermostat problem they had to resolve and came back today to fix that. Everything is working fine. I ended up negotiating the price down from the original bid, they came down $1,000 and had already taken $1,000 for a promotion. I thought that was great. I have a friend who works as an inspector and he was very impressed with the quality of the work.

Excellent experience! Patrick worked with me to find a quality system that met our price range and qualified for the federal tax credit. The installers worked very hard and got the job done in 1 day.

It was a service call. I loved their quick response and competent servicemen. They did a great job. I did not have to spend anything as it was covered under warranty.

We were impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the employees, both over the phone and in person. We were able to ask questions and received explanations that were detailed and made sense. We have an older home and looking to replace our system in the next few years. Will definitely call Advantage for this job.

The sales rep, Patrick, was excellent in his explanations. There was no high pressure sales pitch and we selected what we felt was the best system we could afford. He was the only one of the three companies we used that suggested the units, which are in our attic, should be moved and a small service platform built around it to make it more accessible as well as code compliant. We heard from the company a few times before the actual installation dates of 10-18 and 19 to make sure everything was in order and on the morning the 10-18 the techs arrived and went straight to work. They were very cognizant of the property and careful to lay drop cloths everywhere they walked and cleaned up the areas as they worked. These guys really earn their money....they worked continuously. They were extremely professional and pleasant. At the end of the second day which they worked almost 12 hours, they tested all the systems which worked without a problem and they had everything cleaned up and showed us how to use the programmable thermostat. You would never know that anything had been done when they left unless you climbed into the attic. We had a really good experience with this and I would highly recommend this company to anyone contemplating a job as large and as technical as this.

Needed a whole new system because ours was almost 20 years old, falling apart, and killing our electric bill. Also, we wanted to put something new in before it really started getting cold because we didn't trust the gas furnace. Used Angies list to contact several of the top rated companies and had them all come out and provide estimates. They ended up all being between $8500 and $11,000 with Advantage coming in at $9900. Dave and his apprentice Mike came out on Tuesday morning (1030) and stayed until about 8 p.m. that night, then came back on Wed morning (1000) and finished up at about 6 p.m. (I was told it was going to be a 2 day project). Both of the installers were very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. There was a small balancing of the fan issue when the unit was first started, but was taken care of quickly with an adjustment by their Trane certified service technician. Everything went in like it was supposed to and seems to be working as advertised. I took a look in the attic and the first think I noticed was that everything was carefully taped/sealed and all scraps/debris were removed. Throughout the install, blankets were laid on all carpets and stairs to help keep the area/carpets clean. Overall, really good experience.

I would definitely use this company again. We are very pleased. Our unit went out and they brought us a temporary unit, and that had some problems, so they brought window units, until our Trane was installed. Thanks Jim from Sean and Marsha Haley

A/C in our home was leaking into the ceiling and needed to be replaced (22 years old). We chose to do the furnace at the same time. Salesman came out and provided us with several estimates for different levels of equipment. Once we decided on the type of equipment that we wanted, company scheduled the installation date. They provided us with a temporary unit as they could not do the install until 2 weeks later. On installation day, the A/C and furnace installation went very smoothly. They showed us all the repairs made and how to operate the new system. They also scheduled the mechanical inspection and provided us with the maintenance manuals. It was a very good experience.

We came home from a day at the pool to find the house quite warm. Fan was running on the outside unit, but the coils were cool to the touch, indicating no heat was being removed from the house. I called another company based in Portsmouth, but when their technician hadn't called back after several hours, I called Advantage. Sean, the technician who?d be coming to the house, called me back within the hour. It was 6:30 on Saturday night, and he indicated he could fit me in around noon the next day. With 100 degree weather, I knew all HVAC companies were very busy, and I was glad they could fit me in as soon as that. He called about an hour before arriving to indicate he was leaving the previous job and was on his way. He showed up when promised, identified, and repaired the problem quickly. He was very courteous, and explained everything to me along the way. After replacing the blown capacitor, he continued to check the unit for other problems, and told me everything appeared to be running correctly. I've wanted a service contract on the unit, and they offered to give me the discounted price if I purchased one today. I did, and got 15% off the repairs. Also, because I'd called on Saturday and they couldn't fit me in, they didn't charge me the Sunday rate for the labor. I will use them again without hesitation.

The air conditioner was not producing cool air through the vents. After an inspection Nate determined the refrigerent was low and after replacing the refrigerent determined that the unit was still not producing cold air. Nate took the time to thoroughly inspect the air conditioning unit and went beyond the obvious problem to determine the real issues with the air conditioner and resolved the issue. I would highly recommend advantage heating and cooling.

Dave, the installer, along with Neil, his helper, came out on time, and worked very efficiently to install furnace in attic and outside air conditioner. Ted and Nate, service techs, also came to my home to help with install and make sure everything was going well. They answered all my questions and explained everything to me. Everyone was very courteous. Before I had this new system put in, I had issues with humidity in summer and staying cold in winter. I have not lived through winter yet, but I must tell you the ac is working great, both upstairs and down and I only have one system for both. I had several estimates done before I decided to go with Advantage. I was totally confused because I had too many companies tell me different things, but after speaking to Neil Zerbe, owner of Advantage over the phone and listening to him explain and answer all my concerns, I knew he was telling me what was best for my home. Also, they cleaned up afterwards, so my home was left as if they were never here. I would definitely recommend Advantage Heating and Cooling. I WOULD ALSO RECOMMEND YOU ALWAYS ASK FOR AN ANALYSIS OF YOUR HOME TO MAKE SURE YOU GET RIGHT SIZE AND EQUIPMENT. Advantage Heating and Cooling had the best price by quite a bit for the exact same equipment installation.

I had extremely high electric bills. Dominion Power performed a usage audit and determined that the heat pumps or the water heater was the cause. I asked Advantage to come out again and check the heat pumps. I had explained the circumstances and told them about the usage audit. Up to that time I had been extremely pleased with the service, responsiveness, and professionalism of the young man we had. The company sent another individual and this guy was rude, totally unprofessional, did not want to listen to the issues, was too busy telling me why I was wrong, that I didn't know what I was talking about and I finally had to ask him to leave the premises. The owner of the company simply said he would not be providing service any longer and refunded a portion of the contract fee. I had another company come out and they immediately determined it was the water heater, replaced a part and my electric bill dropped $300 in one month.

They came ahead of time and did an excellent job. They were very quick, very clean, and very professional. Theirs was the lowest price we got from a few estimates. When I had set the thermostat wrong they came out once again to explain things without charging me. They were really good. I can?t complain about anything that they did. We were very happy with their service.

Our heat pump was flagged for replacement during a home inspection. I selected 5 "A" rated Angie's List providers and got quotes. I told every one of them that I had selected good contractors and was simply price shopping at that point. The highest quote I received was $6700. Advantage was the lowest quote by several hundred dollars. It was so much lower that I was actually concerned and came back to Angie's List to read every single review before going with them. Boy, am I glad I did! They did a great job. They were on time, clean, courteous and professional. Michael Harris provided our estimate. He was quick and complete. He answered my questions and provided some information about different types of units (and their warranties) as well. A sales rep ("comfort consultant") from another company nearly won my business, because he was more more persistent by calling to ensure I had gotten the estimate and quickly making a modification I requested and calling back when he sent a revised estimate to ensure I had received it. However, at the end of the day I stuck with my initial thought of using "A" Angie's List contractors and shopping on price. I would HIGHLY recommend these guys. Great job - even better price.

It went very well. The sales representative was easy to deal with. He gave us options and we met with him several times. He provided us with literature on the two units and made recommendations. It was between them and another company. For the same unit this company was cheaper. They were very thorough in clean-up and installation. They asked my opinions on different things. They called back asking if we were happy and if they needed to adjust anything. When they came out for the annual inspection they spent a lot of time looking at the unit and checking everything.

They were 5,000 dollars less than the competition. It took them 4 days, they cleaned up daily, they were a very hands on company always checking to see if are needs were being met.
