We moved into a new house at the end of May, AC unit for the second floor not cooling properly, had freon and stop-leak added. This worked for a couple of months, but the 17 year old unit finally gave out in August. We got several estimates, Advantage had the best price and also honored an Angie's List coupon. They were prompt, clean, professional, informative and great!! System works great, they were very patient answering all our questions and explaining lots of things (we never had an electric heat exchanger before).

When they came out I signed an annual service agreement with them. I chose them because of their availability. They were very friendly, forthcoming and explained everything about what the service agreement included. They answered any questions I had.

I gave a b for on-time because it took all day to get here. But they came within time promised. I am fussy: would like a better estimate of time of arrival. Other than that observation, perfectly satisfied with the capability of the technician. Great guy! Talented. Beautiful service. The Angies List discount really helped to deal with the price!

Our upstairs air conditioning stopped functioning on Tues, 3 July - - during one of the 100 degree days with high humidity. We called Advantage that morning and that afternoon, Jim Pickral, came out to give us an estimate on replacing the system. He quickly determined the appropriate sized needed, gave us a quote, and even offered to bring out some a/c window units to cool the upstairs. We received other quotes, but went with Advantage based on their reputation, competitive pricing, and the fact that they only carried Trane products, which we wanted. We signed the contract and the units were installed on Saturday, 7 July by David and Casey. The installation crew did an excellent job - professional, hard working, good attention to detail - and they were working all day in 100 degree heat outside, as well as a sweltering attic. True to his word, Jim did indeed bring out the window units prior to the system being installed. This was an excellent experience from start to finish. We received a quote to replace our downstairs gaspack unit as well, so that when it quits, all we need to do is call Advantage and get it scheduled. Will absolutely use again.

They were neat and pleasant. They seem to know what they were doing. All the people that came were good.

The salesman was very friendly, but professional. He listened to me and addressed every one of my concerns. Everything he told me about the system has proven true and I am very happy with the installation and the system.

The salesman was great -- no pressure. My existing system was installed 14 years ago, and was having a hard time keeping up in the summer. I decided to upgrade to Trane systems, and after getting two bids selected Advantage based on the cost, which was about 2k less than the competition. Advantage did a great job, and completed the install in two days. The install started Thursday morning, and the team was four guys. They were polite, knowledgable and efficient. The first day was for the ripout of the old and placement of the new systems. During the inspection of the new equipment they found the furnace inside the box was not the model indicated on the outside of the box. No problem, they had the correct furnace at 7:30 the next day. They installed a new return and re-routed some cool air to balance out the upstairs. Downstairs the return ducting wasn't large enough for the new unit, so they ran new 16" flexible. There were a couple of issues, wrong furnace and some collapsed duct at the very end of the install, but Advantage did a great job overall. I would use them again.

I like the price, they're prompt, and it only took them a day to do it. If we have any problems, they come back and take care of them.

They were early, and they repaired everything in my attic for me with no cost. They were very friendly, professional, and helpful.

Mike came to my house, on time, and provided a very professional presentation. Of the three that came to my house, Advantage was the highest, by far, of the other two. They were $3K more than their competitors. While the Trane system they would use was nice and had some great features, when it came down to it, I just needed something efficient to control the heating and cooling in my house. I ended up getting a 16 SEER unit with varibale speed fans, de-humidifier, etc for a lot less. Does it have some of the whistles and bells of the Trane - maybe not but it serves my purpose. I also heard from the two other providers (unsolicited) that they stopped carrying Trane because parts are often not availbale when they are needed. One had just recently dropped them after having a long relationship.

.I could not be more pleased in this whole experence. This company has all my future business and I highly reccommend them to all who need heating and A/C services.

I call them when I need heating and cooling work, they are really good. They schedule the work within a day or two and they are prompt. They call me when I can't be on the site and they tell me what is going on. They are really good.

Advantage initially installed both units in 2010 during the house build, so I spoke to Faith on Tues, 1/3, for an appointment to troubleshoot the 1st floor heating unit. She was able to fit me in, and Sean showed up on time after I finished work. He determined the thermostat was fine, but the unit's "auto heat limiter" had tripped. He noted poor air flow in the air duct return and inspected all outflow vents for obstruction. He then went in the crawl space and found about 10 feet of crushed duct work, minimizing air flow (essentially trying to sip water through a straw while biting it). It couldn't be fixed that evening nor the next day, which is why I rated Responsiveness a B. It happened to be the 2 coldest nights this winter, and the 1st floor reached as low as 57 degrees F. *brrrrrrr* The ductwork was fixed promptly on Thu, 1/5, and upon personal inspection and running the unit to observe a temp rise, I was very very happy. I would say it actually runs better than it did when we first moved in (just judging by the increased air flow through the return)! It took less than 4 hrs for the temperature to rise from 61 to 72 F. I still rated Price an A although it seemed high for splicing two ends of ductwork and joining them together, but I didn't have time to price shop, and considering the tight area he worked in, I couldn't see a seam at all. ($59 service call fee + $344 ductwork repair) Our whole house is comfortable again. Thanks!

Represenative took my information and stated they would call back shortly. They called back within 15min and said they could have a technician to my home that afternoon (speific time would not be known until they completed planned other service calls). They also stated there was an $89 service call fee to troubleshoot the problem. Represenative called at 10am to say technician was approx 30 min from arriving. Technician arrived 10:20am, reviewed problem and started to work. 11am technician was done. Problem was bad capacitor for motor, the technician had the part and replaced. Technician provided overview of the problem and condition of system. I believe $120.00 for a capacitor is high but from reading other post this seems in line with what is being charged. A search of WW Grainers found motor capacitors run between $10 - $40 depending on the type but that is wholesale price and since I did not have the equipment to troubleshoot system I guess that is the going rate that is why I marked price as a "B" not a "C". What I do appreciate is the Advantage Heating and Cooling responding so quickly to the service request and promptly being able to correct the issue.

I found them on Angie's List. I liked everything about them. I have no complaints whatsoever. The workers were excellent. There was no complication.

As mentioned above they came out isolated the problem, in no time flat. The provider was punctual, professional, knowledgable and economical.

When it came time for installation, the two man crew came shortly after the expected time, introduced themselves and explained what they would be doing throughout the day, and began work immediately. While they worked, these two men were quiet, quick, and clean. Throughout the process, they made sure that everything worked as it should. The sales rep, as well, as a supervisor, came by to see how the installation was going. When the work was done, one of the installers cleaned up the debris from boxes and packaging, drop cloths, and whatever else they had, and loaded up the old units on their truck, while the other showed me what they did, explained why and how they did everything with both the furnace and a/c unit, showed me how to work the new thermastat, made sure everything was running perfectly - again - and made sure that everything was turned on or off as required. Throughout that process the gentleman told me to ask any question I had and answered those questions to my complete satisfaction. After the job was completed, the sales rep returned to see if we were happy with how installation went. Upon leaving, he told us to call him if we had any questions. Overall, I was really pleased with this company, the reps, the installers, and quality of workmanship. We had a great experience with Advantage Heating and Cooling.

The service representative arrived as scheduled and on time to boot. He did a thorough job in inspecting, cleaning and testing for proper performance of our HVAC system. I was pleasantly surprised that they replace your air filters at no additional charge. Great service and value - I highly recommend them and have done so to my neighbors.

Very good experience...the serviceman was very professional, took care of business, gave me some pointers on the system, and was on his way.

He said he didn't have to vacuume the system but he would have also changed our filters if necessary. He spoke with my husband on the phone regarding details and recommending a service contract ($150) which was probably an additional 5 minutes.

The first time we called Advantage on a Sunday in July '11. They got a technician named Nate out the very next day. He checked the system and noted that the coolant level was low, so he topped it off. He also recommended a diagnostic test to check for a leak, but we declined at the time as we signed up for a follow up maintenance service in the fall. If the coolant was low again then, we'd do the leak test to hopefully figure out where the problem was. The first week of September we had the same issue - the HVAC wasn't producing cold air and it was leaking water again. We called Advantage and they got the same tech out the next day. This time a gal named Faith booked the appointment, and as I work 45 minutes away she was incredibly helpful in calling to let me know when Nate was about 45 minutes from getting to the house. It was raining, so Nate couldn't tell visually if the leak was outside. He tested the inside unit to see if he could pinpoint a leak, but no luck. I agreed to go ahead with the leak test and it was scheduled for the following week. He topped off the coolant at no charge, and did not charge for the service visit either, citing that though we were a little over a month Advantage guarantees their work for 30 days. After quoting around $275 for a leak test, today Nate found the leak, charged only $150 for labor, and $27 to correct the leaking valve. I am so impressed with Advantage, I would recommend them to anyone for service. They are fast, considerate, and incredibly professional. I am so glad we found this company!

I chose this company because of the positive reviews on Angie's List. I called on Thursday and they came out the same afternoon to fix the unit. It turned out to be a minor problem (thank goodness) and the service technician was very honest about the repairs. He didn't try to push any extra repairs or parts for the unit. I will definitely use them in the future.
