It went well. They were 30 minutes early and got right to work. The three guys moved my one bedroom apartment in the two hours allotted.

Absolute Moving is top notch and the guys they sent to do the move were great.
The estimate was fair and was even adjusted the day of the move as some of the furniture that was originally part of the estimate was no longer needing to be moved.
Absolute Moving provided us with a fantastic group of four guys (Sammy, TJ, Mark and James) who were on time the morning of the move. They packed the truck like experts and did so quickly, checking to make sure they'd moved all the specific items we wanted out of the upstairs and downstairs, all the furniture was wrapped well to avoid damage and the delivery was timely as well. The truck was unloaded quickly and all the boxes went to the right rooms. If they had a question, they were quick to ask and make the necessary adjustments. They did a great job disassembling and reassembling the furniture too! Very positive experience and would definitely hire them again.

I first went under Craigslist because I was pressed for time. The "moving company" was unprofessional andgetting paid by the hour, so they took three hours to break one bed down and haul a dryer on the truck. I was out of state for work and my father was supervising the move. I called the manager in regards to their unprofessionalism towards my father, the time, and also the workers STEALING. Well that owner cursed me and then told the movers got throw my things back in the apt. Well that's when I bought an Angie's membership and contacted Absolute. The owner answered and immediately went to my apt to give me an estimate (all done during the first call). He came to introduce himself and his workers the next morning (even though they were booked) and they started right away. My dad kept expressing how professional and efficient they were. My dad called me throughout the whole process complimenting how great they were. Thanks Tony for rescuing me and my things!

Best move experience in 14 moves--Rick and his crews are consummate professionals. We've used movers from all over the US and overseas, and these guys from the top down all aim to make the experience smooth and effective. Courteous, clean, thoughtful service. Highest recommendation. God Bless Earl--the man is in his fifties and lifted heavy items with the young guys and they all did it with a smile. They also had to navigate a very tough house at origin with multiple floors and heavy large furniture--not a single scratch on walls floors or furniture. Then they had to navigate tight quarters at destination due to massive tree work being done acorss the street, and a cable contractor at our house. No sweat for them--they did what they had to do.

Everything went great! They guys were professional and constantly working. We had a 4 man crew with Albert, Nick, Sammuel, & Matt. They worked hard and took great care of our items. They made sure to point out anything specific, & even showed me. That there was. Some surface mold growing on a table that was in the far back of the unit. They were professional in front of my kids and even joked around and talked with them. They placed everything where I asked, I never felt that anything was rushed or going slow. It was a happy moving day for us and these guys made it all the more better!

All phone calls were returned and the owner of the company was always polite and patient with my questions. The movers were extremely punctual, very king and very efficient. All items were places where I asked them to be placed. Everything arrived safely and with no scratches. The movers were personable and easy to work with. I am very pleased to have found them on Angie's List.

I would absolutely recommend these guys for your moving needs. Rick came by, looked at what I wanted moved and gave me a written quote on the spot (some companies try to do this over the phone & later try to charge you more). After he left I noticed that there was a coupon on Angie's list for 10% off, I called Rick and he didn't have any problem honoring the coupon. They arrived with 5 guys and moved our furniture taking care not to damage anything. That was the most important thing to me because I've had damage in the past and its hard to collect any insurance, and even if you do they rarely give you replacement value for items. All my furniture was placed where I told them and the guys were all very polite and professional. You can hire these guys with confidence.

They showed up ahead of schedule which I really appreciated. Once the clock started, Matt worked very hard and diligently. However, the other two workers were extremely slow (i.e. picking up one box at a time, taking multiple smoke brakes). One guy took off for over 20 minutes to use the bathroom. I was not given any time back for that too.
Once the truck was loaded, they took over 30 minutes to travel 3.1 miles, as they decided it was ok to stop by the bank on the way to my house. Was I given time credit for that? No.
During the unloading process, again, Matt worked very hard and efficiently. The other two were slow, took smoke brakes, and only carried one box at a time. Was I give time back for the smoke brakes? No.
Matt was good... the other two, though very nice, milked the $60 per half hour and worked very slowly. I feel the job could have been done in 5 hours in stead of 7. Unfortunately I will not recommend this company to anyone.

Response from ABSOLUTE MOVING COMPANY
"I don't think this customer is fair in giving us an "F" for professionalism. We did deduct an hour for lunch, the bank, and smoke breaks on the final bill. He was just upset at the total time. I assure you the men were very good on this job. They didn't break anything, no damage to his furniture, walls, or property. He was hypersensitive to the smoking breaks, and in the end we took off "ONE" full hour. We had no problem with that. I don't mind criticism where it is due, but I don't think he knows the kind of quality (or lack of quality) that most moving companies provide. Rick"

ABSOLUTE MOVING COMPANY did a bang up job, awesome. The owner came out to take a look at all of what I had to move to quote me a price. His attitude was good for him to come out there. I felt it was a fair and excellent price. Once I hired them the guys called me in advance to tell me what approximate time they would get there and showed up on time. They were nice, courteous, and packed the whole house in one day. They came out the next day to load in a truck to move to the new location and put it in the property. I would refer ABSOLUTE MOVING COMPANY and I would put them in my speed dial. The team leader was Albert with Jay, Duke, and Luis need a pat on the back. We had such a good rapport it felt like a family member was leaving when they were done.

Rick (owner) walked through the house and tool shed and saw what needed to be packed and moved, and then gave a firm price, which we really appreciated. He offered to both pack and move us, and explained that if we did the packing ourselves, we could save $2,285 (packing fee also quoted to us). We did all packing, with Rick's good advice about materials.
On moving day, the crew was on time, and did an outstanding job. Two 26 foot trucks were used, and a crew of six men did the job. We had several very large and heavy pieces. Nothing was broken, or even scratched. We were very pleased!
They moved us out on June 17th and moved us into our new home on June 18th. The men who moved us in were Albert Harney, Michael Mallory, Dakota Holloman, and Nick Gaglione. I'm sorry to say that I can't remember the other two men who helped us move out, but they did an outstanding job as well. We are very thankful to Absolute Moving Company and all the fine men who helped us move!

They just used one truck for the trip. They had 3 people who came out. They moved the larger things out of my house so they didn't have to box them up. They just wrapped them up and put some of the things in plastics.

the 3 movers (Sam, Jimmy and Earl) kept us apprised of when they would arrive, worked very hard and were very careful with our furniture and belongings. The move was completed in 2 hours and we were very happy with the services provided.

I called and spoke with Jeff and confirmed a date and time to move and mentioned our coupon from Angie's list. He said just to give it to the driver and we would be good to go. When the guys showed up I gave them our coupon and the mover said it would be $70 more than the coupon. I showed him the coupon and he still said it would be more. We needed to get the stuff moved that day so we decided to go ahead and I would check with the office after the move. The guys were great. They handled everything we needed done. They were nice and courteous and nothing got broken! We went over our 2 hour time coupon so we needed to pay $50 for the additional time. No problem. However, they still charged me the additional $70 charge. I called the office when the move was complete and left a message for Jeff. Jeff called me Monday morning and we discussed the problem. He said the coupon was written wrong and he would call Angie's List and get it sorted out. He had a copy of the coupon I had given to the driver. Jeff called back and left me a message that the ad was written wrong but that it was not my fault. I had thought I would be paying one amount when it should have been another. I called him back and he told me that they would be reimbursing me the over charged amount. They issued a check and I received it within 2 days. That is the reason I still gave them an A rating. The movers did a great job and Jeff corrected the coupon misunderstanding. and reimbursed the funds quickly. Overall, a great job and we appreciated them working with us on the coupon confusion.

My mom was moving in with us and needed an apartment's worth of furniture and household items moved. We selected Absolute Moving because of excellent Angie's List reviews. From our very first contact with Rick, one of the company's owners, through the completion of the move, my husband, mom and I were totally impressed by the representatives' of Absolute Moving's courtesy, experience and professionalism. Rick gave an advance on-site fixed price for the move. The actual day of the move, we were contacted to see if they could come early--a first! Since my husband's and my own move from AZ the previous week by a nationwide mover was horrendous, we were still traumatized and worried that my mom's move wouldn't go well. When Mark and Sammy from Absolute Moving showed up with warm smiles and went right to work, our fears were allayed. In no time they had everything loaded without mishap. On the other end, which involved lugging furniture up stairs, Mark and Sammy expertly unloaded and placed the furniture and other items exactly where we wished. The total move was accomplished within the estimated 3 hours with no damage--fantastic! We had a last minute request that Rick approved and our movers accepted with grace, which was for them to pick up several large and heavy items of furniture that wouldn't fit in our new home and take them back to my mom's house to be temporarily stored in her garage. Absolute charged us a very reasonable price and it definitely helped us out. One last thing about Mark and Sammy--these guys are real pros. Mark has been with Absolute for much longer but both are a credit to the company.

Movers showed up about 20 min late--so pretty close to on time. 2 of the 3 did 90% of the moving and the two men that did the moving were complaining about the third. The guys took over half an hour to disassemble a simple bedframe. Additionally, they took a half hour smoke break (for which I was charged). I also saw them using my personal belongings--for instance, a mover decided he wanted to use my scale to weigh himself, Overall, they were just inexplicably slow and not professional. Additionally, they left behind screws, wood fragments etc in the old apartment and I noticed some of my furniture was scratched by the time it reached my new place. (for example, couch's legs were scratched up int he process). I had a poor moving experience with this company and would not recommend them.

Absolute came out and spent 5 minutes looking at the home that needed to be moved. The second household was not even seen. Within 10 minutes I had an estimate on my home and an estimate was given on a site unseen. I felt that vital criteria was not discussed such as items that needed special wrapping and packing. In fact he looked at my flat screen tv and didn't mention it needs a special box. Overall he lacked any interest, and had virtually nothing to say. He didn't even state whether the day I wanted to move was available.
Response from ABSOLUTE MOVING COMPANY
"This is tricky to respond without offending [removed member name]. Her house was very cluttered, very dirty and smelled of pungent dog odor. Everywhere I went throughout the 800 square foot apt./house I had to step over trash, clothes, and junk on the floor. The odor was making me caugh and I really wanted to leave as fast as possible. I hate having to respond to this review, but I in all fairness, it was aweful and I needed to get out fast."

Absolute Moving Company were very good. There is a two-hour minimum charge, and you get two guys. They were very professional. We showed them what had to be moved and they went in and did it. They were real quick and were waiting at the storage facility when I got there. They responded back after we left them a message promptly. The guys were nice and pleasant and very careful with the furniture. I would say that they are a good company to use because there was no 'dogging'. Some businesses you have to stay on them, but these guys were really good.

The hourly price the provided on the phone was reasonable and the person on the phone was polite enough. We were looking to have them pack everything in our 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment, move everything to our new home, unload the boxes, and set up the furniture. We had no real way of estimating how many hours this would take and were disappointed that they were unwilling to send someone to our place to provide an actual estimate. Given the size of the job and that two other companies offered to come to our place for an estimate without us asking, we thought our request was a reasonable one for both the type of service and our area. Based on other reviews we read, this company was originally our first choice, but we'll be using another company now. I think we'll even be saving some money with the new company.
Response from ABSOLUTE MOVING COMPANY
"We never moved this person. She called but we are booked with in-home estimates on houses and condos/townhouses. It's our busy season and it is just crazy right now. We do not have time to see apartments in our busy season. I explained this to her and all I could provide was an hourly rate. I'm sorry that we are unable to come out and see her items. I wish her well."

I do not usually do reviews, but I do value other peoples reviews, so I figured I need to start contributing. We have recently moved (hence the moving company) so I have called out numerous companies to help with jobs. This is the only company that I have complaints about.
I called a couple of weeks before I needed the job done and was able to get my second choice of requested times for a weekend move. Someone came out within a couple of days to survey the items that were being moved and presented me with a quote. We were not moving any boxes, just big furniture. We planned to do any tearing down/putting together that was necessary, and really only cared if a few specific pieces got moved... a piano and a very large armoire were the only 2 items we felt we couldn't move ourselves. The consultant estimated this would be a 5 hour job and quoted a price of $785. This seemed long and high to me since we had used similar type companies in previous moves and had never paid that much to have our entire house loaded onto a truck (a job that took about 7 hours by a couple of fast moving guys. I asked about an hourly rate and was quoted $350 for 2 hours and $120 for each additional hour. If you do the math, 5 hours going this route does not add up to $785. We ended up agreeing to the hourly rates with a cap at $785... once again, I could not imagine how this job would take 5 hours! My assumption at this point was that they would be slow to ensure the 5 hours, but since they got so many high reviews on Angie's list we decided to stick with them.
They showed up on time... even a little early... and seemed pleasant enough, the furniture was wrapped in plastic and handled well (for the most part), but they turned out to be the slowest, laziest workers I have ever seen (and we have used this type of company at least 5 times)!! Of the three man crew, one guy never left the back of the truck... just waited for furniture to arrive so he could place it properly... he did more waiting than placing. The other two would come in the house and take a least a minute or two looking at the furniture before they even started to move it, then would slowly meander out to the truck. After getting the piece on the truck, they would spend another couple minutes watching the guy arrange before moving on to another piece. They would take a 5 minute smoke/phone break every 2-3 pieces. After about an hour and a half they had only loaded about half of the furniture (which did not include any of the pieces we needed assistance with) and then told my husband they couldn't get it all on the truck (which was only half full) so they were going to unload and come back. Now we were stuck keeping them over the 2-3 hours because they hadn't moved the items we needed help with. Once they got to the other house (a mile away) they sat in their truck for at least 15 minutes... doing nothing!! My husband finally went out and started unloading our dining room chairs. After 4 hours they had finally loaded the second load and placed the piano in our new house. They then started discussing what they were going to do with the armoire that we wanted upstairs. It was determined that this crew would not be able to complete the task so they would terminate at this point with plans to come back with 6 guys on Monday or Tuesday for around a 60 charge. We ended up paying $650 for 4.5 hours of work and a large armoire waiting in the garage. That armoire is still in our garage and we have not heard a word back from them!

"First of all, I gave her a flat rate price because I was going to send 4-5 guys to move their huge furniture. In a flat rate situation I send extra manpower. This particular job I did an in-home estimate and then left them with a flat rate price. They called and said they only needed 3 men and would like an hourly rate instead of the flat rate. I told them we could Cap it at $785.00 and do it hourly and which ever was cheapest we would honor. They were happy with that. The job only ended up being $650.00, not the $785.00. On moving day we arrived, did what we were told and when we got down to the last piece a HUGE armoire (weighing 500-600 lbs), the 3 men she ordered couldn't manpower it up the stairs. They put it in the garage and I told her we would come back with more men the next day to move it upstairs. When we couldn't get there in the early morning she got mad at me, I told her I would do it. I will still do it at no charge if she wants...she told me not to bother. The problem here is that I have 20 years experience in the moving industry. I know what it takes to move certain pieces of furniture, but she thought she knew better and only needed 3 men instead. The fault lies squarely on her, she reduced the people I was going to send thinking it would take less time. In the end it didn't work out like she though and she's mad at me. I don't like unhappy customers and I strive to do all I can to rectify the issues."

I was looking for movers to help with several large pieces of furniture during my move (bed, futon, TV stand). I lived on the fourth floor of an apartment building with no elevator. Absolute Moving gave me the best quote for the job ($300 for 2 hours with 3 men) and understood I was only looking for two hours worth of work. The movers showed up early and understood exactly what I wanted. In the 1 hour I had budgeted for moving items out of my old place, they had loaded up all of my furniture and every single box. They even offered to help me load bags of groceries into my car. They finished the job 30 minutes ahead of schedule at my new place. I would definitely use them again.

Jimmy and Earl called at the appointed moment, arrived 20 minutes later and hauled all of the heavy stuff with cheerful aplomb. They worked quickly and efficiently. No chips, dents or breaks. They were both experienced and just nice folks. They got the job done in 3 hours and charged me less than a third of their estimate!!!
