Great fix it over the phone

When a service visit starts with "Well I am in the area heading to another appointment later this afternoon, I can stop by now and call it my lunch" you know you are getting GREAT customer services. Bill stopped by and quickly diagnosed the issue and with a part on his truck replaced it in mere minutes. That's the technical part of the review. The other non-technical part is even more important. Professional, personable, and just a nice guy, I would recommend Bill to any of my neighbors or friends WITHOUT reservation. Bill gets it. He works and treats you just like he wants to be treated as a customer. We are so psyched to have found him and his company now for all our appliance care! You will not regret calling him.

Thursday afternoon I started hearing a clicking sound in my kitchen, which I was at first unable to pinpoint (toaster? dishwasher? stove?) By 6pm the puddles around the front of my fridge, melted ice cream and thawing chicken in the freezer clarified what appliance was malfunctioning. At that hour I was unable to get any emergency service for the refrigerator. I packed the ice, ice packs and whatever was still hard frozen into a cooler, turned off the ice maker water, and turned off the freezer, which stopped the dripping and left messages on a few appliance service answering machines. Friday morning I called a few places, and found that no one would be able to come by until the following Tuesday or Wednesday. I received a call back from WRM owner. He advised me that he would be by between 11 and 2, and asked me to turn the freezer back on, as it would help him to better diagnose/fix the problem if it had been on for a couple of hours. Bill arrived before 1, swiftly and easily moved the fridge out so he could access the back, guessed the likely problem, and advised me the likely cost. He confirmed and fixed the problem relay/overload) without any fuss or mess. I feel that he explained the problem, and why it occurred. I expect to seek his assistance in the future if I have additional problems with other appliances.

Excellent. He was prompt and efficient. Bill is also very good about explaining things to the customer. And he certainly enjoys his work.

I called WRM and spoke with Bill about my dishwasher issues. My dishwasher (LG, 5 yr. old) is all of a sudden making a lot of noise when we run it. Normally you can't even hear it run. It sounds like the motor. But, it is still washing the dishes effectively. Bill told me that he could come out and look at it, but it does sound like the motor and those are not serviceable with LG or some other dishwashers. If that is found to be the culprit, I'd be looking at a whole new motor at about $325. (plus labor, I'm assuming). So, hardly worth it. He said sometimes they do that and in a week or so the noise will stop. Even if it doesn't, I'm best to put up with the noise, as long as it continues to do its job, until the dishwasher completely stops working. I so much appreciated him giving me the advice over the phone and not coming out and charging me for a service call (when it is probably not fixable).

The owner, Bill, showed up at the appointed time and ran electronic diagnostics on the washing machine. He gave me a rough written estimate on repair. We decided that it was not worth spending the money taking the machine apart for a more detailed analysis/diagnosis, since as he had mentioned when we spoke on the phone, the minimum cost for the repairs to my 10 year old unit based on the computer error codes were such that it made economic sense to replace the machine. When I asked Bill for his opinion on options for replacement units, he gave me his perspective on different styles and manufacturers. He did not push any particular unit, and does not sell washing machines, so I appreciated this perspective from someone who repairs them once the warranty has expired. He recommended a basic top loader rather than a high end unit based on my likely pattern of use. This advice plus professional confirmation that it was time to get a new unit rather than pour money into repair more than justified the cost of the service call.

Thursday evening I noticed the fridge was making an odd clicking sound and the freezer was frosty. Tried all the seals etc, everything was fine. Heard the random clicking next morning. Checked the freezer and items were defrosting. Called WRM Appliance Service that day. Talked to Bill, the owner. Described what was happening and gave him the model number. He seemed genuinely sincere when he told me he couldn't be out til Monday. That was reasonable to me. He said he would research my model during the course of the day. Monday morning he arrived as promised and within 15 minutes had the new part installed (part of the compressor was blown). Advised me that it would take 12-16 hours to be fit for food storage. This the second time we have hired WRM Appliances and I plan to call on this company for all my large appliance repairs in the future. Bill is very personable, patient and wiling to answer all questions. It is a pleasure to do business with him.

After smelling smoke I contacted WRM about a possible dryer repair. Bill called back immediately and was able to schedule a visit for the next day. He arrived in the scheduled window and was very efficient. He also explained everything he was doing and very patient answering my questions. He vacuumed out all the built up lint inside the dryer and inspected the wiring for damage as there had been a small fire.

Bill, the owner, spoke to my husband the night before and quoted two prices, based upon whether the refrigerator had a 2-cellanoid or a 4-cellanoid (sp?) pump. Bill showed up to our condo on time, was cheerful and humorous, even though our building engineer required him to enter through the loading dock! He was quick to diagnose the problem, which was a faulty pump and a cracked valve. He quickly replaced these items and charged us as quoted for the 2-cellanoid pump, minus 10% with our Angie's coupon. I liked that Bill checked all the connections to ensure there would be no more leaks. I was very pleased with his knowledge, honesty and performance. And, the price was so reasonable! I am keeping Bill's WRM magnet on our fridge so we can contact him with any future appliance problems. I highly recommend WRM Appliance Service. You cannot go wrong using this company!

First, the appointment setup was more effective than most service companies. I was given a 2-hour window for the next day. Bill called prior to arriving telling me to turn the dishwasher on in order that it would get well in to the wash cycle by the time he arrived (which was about 15 minutes later). Upon his arrival, the leaking had begun. Bill observed the issue and promptly removed the arm which distributes water. He tightened the screws which were about to fall out that were holding the assembly in place - problem solved! He then proceeded to explain how to diagnose the issue by myself (in case something similar occurs again) as well as how to correct the issue (which required a special tool). In addition, he explained that if his diagnosis was incorrect and the problem continues, we would return to correct the problem without charging for an additional service call.

I called on Monday 2/18, which was President's Day, and left a message. My message was returned promptly just an hour later, and we scheduled the service for 2/19 in the morning. The technician arrived within the given time window and promptly was able to confirm that it was clogged. He unclogged the problem in the washing machine and it went back to working wonderfully. I'm grateful for such an easy and fast resolution, and glad that I didn't have to try to unclog it.

They were wonderful. He came and looked at it and told me it was the compressor and it would be more expensive to fix - almost as expensive to fix as it would be to replace as it was an old refrigerator. So we bought a new one. He was wonderful. He set the appointment up the day before, he called me 30 minutes before he came, he was very polite. He wore those little suit cover things when he came in. It's his own business. I was very impressed and I will absolutely call him again.

He did a good job fixing the clothes dryer a few months before. I called him on the phone and told him what was wrong with the oven and gave him the model etc. He went ahead and ordered the part and came to put it in a week later. It was very simple. He showed up exactly when scheduled and LISTENED to me when I explained the problem on the phone.

A young man came dressed in uniform. He was very nice. He showed up when he was supposed to. Everything they did was very professional. I would use them and recommend them to everybody. They were absolutely excellent.

Overall it went terribly and would not recommend WRM to anybody. After a week, the symptoms of the refrigerator started reappearing. I have called Bill and he answered the call promptly and recommend I call the home warranty company and they will re-open the ticket, I called the home warranty company, they have reopened the ticket and asked me to contact WRM to schedule a visit. I called WRM/Bill back and left a message and kept trying to schedule an appointment. I have not received any response and I kept calling few times a day for the next 5 days and eventually gave up. I have concluded that this re-opening is probably a non revenue producing opportunity for WRM so they have chosen to not answer calls or take up the appointment. I am currently in process of asking this ticket to be assigned to someone else.

THE COMPANY DID NOT COME ON TIME AND DID NOT WORK TO MY EXPECTATIONS. I HAD TO MAKE THREE DIFFERENT APPOINTMENTS. I WOULD USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN IF I REALLY NEEDED TO BUT I WOULD TRY ANOTHER COMPANY FIRST.
