These guys were amazing.  I moved off of a fairly large farm/estate with a manor home containing some 18th century furnishings, art, and personal items.  The move had to be made in several loads since larger commercial trucks could not get onto the property.  The move was also made in dead of winter in poor weather.  Without exception, they were on-time, super professional, extremely respectful and polite, and treated our possessions as if they were there own.  I've moved from the mid-west, California, New York, Florida, and Virginia.  Wherever I go from now on, they will be the first company I call.  I can't recommend them enough.

As usual, Take It Away arrived when they said they would (and called 15 minutes ahead to let me know they were on schedule) efficiently wrapped up our donations and took them to GoodWill. A few hours later I received my tax deduction receipt and my receipt for this service via email.  

The same scenario took place when they moved us out of our home of 15 years, to a temporary apartment, and then to our new home. 

Take It Away took care of everything and made moving easy.  We sincerely appreciate their services!

My daughter had come across the company when she was moving. She raved about them for weeks so I gave them a try.

Our move is a bit more complicated because it also involves the sale of our house. Due to this, we requested that packing and storing our home furnishings be done in three stages, nonessential-moderate-essential items. We are able to do this because their rates are beyond great. When we were shopping around, we found that their service costs nearly half of what others charge.

We have finished the first two stages and it could have been a nightmare but instead things are 'moving' along seamlessly. I have been involved in several moves and this is the first which I am really happy about. I attribute this to excellent staff. We were assigned a coordinator, Helen, who came to the house and explained their policy and how they do things. She was absolutely wonderful. She was open and helpful on how we could minimize overall cost.

Our move has needed a three man team on both occasions and they were as wonderful as Helen. Both occasions we had the same team with the exception of the first time when Helen came by and also got involved in the packing. Everyone worked quietly and efficiently. Everything went exceptionally well.

I guess I should give them a rating of 100% but since they exceeded my expectations I have to say they earned a rating of 200%

I had an excellent experience with Take It Away earlier this month. Jacob and David arrived right on time and we all got right to work. They helped me clean out my attic--which was a major job --very dusty and uncomfortable. We moved out junk,huge rolls of rugs and various other items. They both worked non-stop.  No complaints --they just got the job done. In two hours, 
we had accomplished some major tasks. They made some very unpleasant jobs--almost pleasant with their great attitudes and professionalism. I would recommend them for storage,moving and removing unwanted items from your home. 
Trust me, they will get the job done and with a smile.

This company was very professional and prompt. Helen from Take It Away came to our house one evening to take pictures of, and notes about, the items we wanted to sell. She also took note of the painting we'd like done.

She quickly gave us a quote for all work, including the fee to pick up the items and list them via several different online postings and the painting estimate. She also sent a form with suggested listing prices for all of our items based on research she had done about their values and allowed us to adjust the prices and set a minimum sell price. It really couldn't be easier.

Her staff was equally professional as they came to pick up our items for sell and to paint. They were always on time and friendly.

Once an item sold, we received an email letting us know the sell price and how much we could expect to receive. We then got a check in the mail a few days later.

This company is absolutely fantastic to work with. They also have an interesting storage solution where they inventory what you store; you tell them what you want out of storage and they'll have it ready for you to pick up. We haven't tried that yet, but would in the future if we need storage.

Take It Away provided exceptional service and we would personally recommend them to anyone. Completely professional and meticulous operation with very reasonable pricing. I feel like we got more than what we paid for value-wise on every possible measure.

Pros: immediate response to any and all requests, highly flexible (we had to change our move date several times), positive and "can do" attitude, highly professional - these guys could write the training book for the whole industry, amidst all the chaos of moving they were the one calm in the storm, they provided all moving materials/crates/packaging and did not gouge us for it like some other quotes we received, extra care to package our belogings down to a screw that went with a mirror made it easy and logical to unpack, belongings came back clean and odorless after 2.5 months in storage, we felt like we really knew the management and team because they treated us like a true customer; Helen was exceptional - I wish I could steal her to run customer service in my own company

Cons: absolutely none; I wish the other contractors we used relating to our new home purchase and renovation even delivered a fifth of what these guys put forward

Take it Away -- has several additional services not commonly offered by local movers -- such as long and short term storage that is charged by the square feet of storage used eliminating costs for unusable vertical space -- an inventory system of itemizing the items stored and a concierge service to help with ideas and services associated with the typical moving process.
