I feel the charge for the capacitor was a bit much but the technicians were very friendly and professional. I usually feel weird about having service people in my house, but I didn't feel that way about these guys, I was very comfortable around them.

I had a problem yesterday. They came out even when it was a holiday, which was quite impressive. I don't find many companies doing that. They came out just within an hour and half, and they fixed the problem. I did not pay anything because I am still under warranty. I have recommended them to a lot of people. I will rate them on the top for quality. They do all sort of impressive things. They put the booties on while working.

Working with this company was a pleasure. A plumber came to my house the same day I called to evaluate the situation and gave me a quote to complete the work. He was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I was so impressed I had some additional work added to the quote. The work was scheduled for the following Monday. That morning a Bobcat was delivered to the house for the needed exterior excavation. Several plumbers arrived at 8am to start the work. One gentleman did the exterior excavation while another focused on the interior work. The work was completed quickly and with minimal damage (from the Bobcat) to the lawn and landscaping around the house. This extra attention to detail was really appreciated. I was very impressed with Nugent and will certainly use them again. Their knowledge, professionalism, and attention to detail set them apart from other plumbing companies I've used in the past.

They did a good job! They were very professional and hardworking. He did not push us to by a new unit. He was very honest. The only downfall was that he was a little high. But the service was great!

This exact work was scheduled for, however the technician arrived without having the valves on his truck and had to call for a part supplier to bring him the items OR reschedule. Since I had already arranged to work from home for this day, I wanted the work done as scheduled. One of the two valves replaced was defected and had to be re-done. This was not the fault of the technician as it was a manufactured defect. However, I felt the cost for this relatively easy scope of work was outragous, but I needed to have the work done. I think a rough estimate at the time I booked the appointment would have appropriate; I'm unsure if I would call this company again. Do: Ask if the pricing is the "National Standardized Pricing" or does the company set their own rates. After calling several other plumbing companies and asking their costs for this job, my pricing appears to be the National Standardized Pricing...something I had never heard of before. Do: Ask if there is a cost to come out and give an estimate if it cannot be approximated over the phone. If there is a charge, do you get credit for that charge if the company does the work on another date. Do: Be better prepared with options than I was...this was my fault.

They are very good. They give excellent service. I have yearly contract with them. they have very good technicians. They are eligible and accommodating. I would use them in the future.

Andy was fantastic! The quote was accurate. The work was first rate. There was absolutely no mess. He even submitted the manufacturer's rebate paperwork for me and helped to submit the Virginia rebate paperwork. They honored the Angie's List discount happily. And the new system is working perfectly, just in time for the summer A/C season.

I had used this company 2 years ago to fix my air conditioner, so I returned to them again when this new problem came up. As before, they were extremely professional and punctual. I talked with the technician and he explained to me what he was doing every step of the way. After the technician left and I had given him a check for his services, I realized I had forgotten to ask about an Angie's List discount. I immediately called the company office. They said that yes, they did give a 10% discount and would honor it. They said they would mail my check back to me and send me an involve for the new amount, which they did. As with my last experience with this company, I think their prices are too high. The full price without my Angie's List discount was $313 for less than an hour’s worth of work and no parts needed. That seems kind of outrageous to me, but they do have a standard book they use to determine pricing.

Overall, service was excellent. Personnel were professional, prompt and competent. Price for electrical work was very high given the work that was performed.

As soon as we moved into our new home, we discovered the air conditioning was not working. It was the middle of July and very hot. While the technician was punctual and fixed the problem for the time being (a coolant leak), it appears the problem is back, since my home is uncomfortable in this unseasonably warm April weather. Apparently he did not fix the leak, but just refilled the missing coolant, which must have leaked out again. Of course, I am no expert, and am a first time homeowner, so who knows - maybe you do use up that much coolant over one summer? But it just doesn't seem right. Even when the technician was here, I was a little unnerved by his response to my inquiry about the lack of air pressure coming out of my vents up in my bedroom. He suggested I install ceiling fans in the bedrooms and balked at the idea that something may not be right with the system. Seemed like a rather odd solution coming from an AC guy. He just didn't seem interested in my concerns and he wanted to leave as quickly as possible after filling the coolant - not before trying to sell me a service contract with his company. I knew something just didn't sit right with it all, and now i know the job was not done properly. I will have to get someone out here to fix the system, but I will not be using this company again.

We noticed that our water heater was leaking and called to set up an appointment for evaluation. They were able to come the same day actually, but we deferred to the following day. The technician was prompt, thorough, and did not try to oversell us (key for us). He quickly explained what we needed, what we didn't (but might hear from other providers that we needed), and how long it would take. The Nugent price was significantly less than any competitor we contacted and they were able to return quickly to install the new water heater. We couldn't have been more pleased, given how painless the process is (especially with the value).

Technicians came out in within 1 day to give us estimates to fix plumbing, replace water heater, and furnace. they were professional, knowledgeable and not too expensive. They offered valuable advice on all fronts. I would feel confident in turning to them again.

I called this company after getting some less than stellar service from the air conditioning/heating service I normally use. My first impression of this company was a good one. The person who came to give us a quote was prompt and friendly, and only sold us what we needed (the previous company told us we needed more than we did). The estimate was reasonable, and the service ultimately performed was great... we've used our air conditioner a few times already and it's working great. We'll definitely use this company again and will also recommend it to all our neighbors.

Great! They were punctual & generous with explanations of the services I was inquiring about. I had used Nugent over a decade ago & really have not had issues for the past 10 years as I installed a new system in 2001 . . . so it was good to see the company still has great service.

He came the same day called, was courteous and friendly and answered all of our questions. He worked quickly and was very clean. We were up and running in a very short length of time.

The overall experience was very good. the installers came out and were very punctual. They installed both units in about 5 hours. They cleaned up and removed the old units. They were very proffesional and showed us how everything worked before leaving. I would use them again and recommend them to friends and family.

Company arrived on time. Workers were clean and spoke English. Work was done well. I had stated that I would provide the pan the water heater is placed in. The pan I provided was too small. Company provided their own larger pan at no extra charge in exchange for the pan I purchased that was too small. They could have nicke and dimed me on this, but didn't. I obtained six bids. Company was not the lowest bidder, but not hte highest either. It was expensive, but I am pleased with the work.

This was emergency service. I called their company # and left a message, and got a return call back in less than 5 minutes. The technician was very responsive letting me know he was currently working on a job and would come immediately after that. He came right when he told me to expect him. He was very friendly, understanding (considering the furnace was working again), and informative, giving me a lot of good information about possible reasons for the failure, what to do (and not to do) if it happens again. I especially appreciated the fact that he was very conscientious about the fact that I was paying for the emergency service call, and so he wanted to be sure that the money was not spent just for a few minutes of "well, it's working, so there's nothing to fix." I was very happy with the attention he gave my furnace, the time he took to explain things, and his overall response.

John Nugent & Sons Company was great. They found the problem and fixed it. The quality of their work was good. They charged us a good price. We also got to use the Angie?s list discount coupon with them.

The fan works fine now. They haven't had to come back. They are prompt and they got here and fixed it. The technician was polite and there were little things in his shoes. He didn't mind my dog.

We got them off the list. We thought that they did an excellent job and there was no mess and it was done quickly. We were quite happy with them.

The price was hideously expensive and the job did not go brilliantly. They took 6 hours for them to find out that it was actually just a lain plug that was causing all the problems. We would other members to make sure that they get a price upfront.

The new electric box seems to be working as it should be. After the work was completed, I had to call several times over a period of a month to get N&S to finally schedule the county inspection of the completed work. The inspection failed (not due to N&S work but a design flaw on the inside of my house near the electric box). After we fixed the problem that caused the inspection to fail (which took about a week to fix) I again called for N&S to schedule the inspector to come back and N&S stopped returning my phone calls. They do this passive/resistance thing where they are very polite at taking messages and say they will return your call but they don't. When I said I was physcially going to their office they called me back immediately and said they could schedule the inspection for the next day. WHY DID IT TAKE OVER A MONTH TO GET THE FIRST INSPECTION SCHEDULED????

The guys were very thorough and they definitely knew their stuff. They were really concerned about making sure they found the real source of the problem and that the electric system was safe, which was a big concern of ours too. The troubleshooting was a little more than we thought it was going to cost but it wasn't really high. It was a little more that we thought.

No one ever returned my call.... I was home all day and, when I go out, I forward my home # to my cell phone; however, my home phone has caller ID and voice message service. Nothing... and it's 1 week as of today - February 4, 2011. Did not call them back and would not recommend them to anyone, since they cannot even be bothered to return a call. I also planned to replace my shower tracks and doors. It is not February 22, 2011 and still have never received a return call. Got someone else to repair the bathroom faucet and purchased a new one from them.
