We are extremely satisfied with the John Nugent's service from estimate to installation. Prior to selecting John Nugent, we received 4 other estimates. Their pricing was competitive and we valued their recommendations based on our needs and the area. Too many options suggested by other service providers were very confusing. While some may appreciate a la carte menu, this was not what we were looking for. There were no high pressure sales tactics, rather pleasant follow ups to see where we were in the decision process. The installation team were very respectful, clean and diligent. For working in such tight areas, they were always pleasant and worked efficiently. They worked hard and long hours to complete the project in two days. They City inspected and approved their work and identified no issues. In fact, the inspector took a picture of the storage box for the furnace's paperwork; they thought it was very clever and I agree! One thermostat was acting up recently and we were able to schedule an appointment for the following day. The technician was timely, identified the issue and ordered a replacement. In the meantime, he determined what the temperature should be set at to prevent constant running of the AC which was greatly appreciated from both a cost and comfort perspective. Within a few days our new thermostat was installed by the same technician which was nice since he was familiar with the repair. Replacing your HVAC systems is a costly expense and a decision we did not make without a lot of time and thought. I would strongly recommend you include John Nugent when obtaining estimates.

Todd was great! He was friendly, and took plenty of time to describe what he was doing. I also appreciated his tips to avoid problems with the unit in the future.

The employees were professional, punctual. and responsive. The scheduler at the office was very helpful given the 90 degree weather and the lack of air conditioning. Insofar as I know the work was properly done light turns on ,ac cools , and fan runs. However my experience in talking with the service technician at the home was not the best. While I understand R-22 coolant is prohibitively expensive a charge of $500.00 for 3lbs or less seems above the market rate. Rather than attempt to provide any explanation the technician adopted a take it or leave it attitude. In addition I found the technician's comments regarding the age of our air conditioning unit troubling and potentially indicative of a lack of effort. He stated the system at 13 years old was at the end of its life expectancy and he would not do more than fill it with coolant. I believe there are companies that pride themselves on being able to make repairs and there are those that simply want to make more service visits without making time consuming repairs. With that being said the technician was certainly competent and thorough but as this was my first dealing with this company I am not sure I would return as they appear inclined to push new product- but we certainly appreciate the promptness of their response

The guys were great! They were a little late, but it wasn't a big inconvenience. They were very knowledgable and friendly. I really appreciated that they were able to come to my house the same day I called. I'll definitely use them again.

The technician took the time needed to find the problem. The issue was repaired during the initial visit and we haven't have any additional problems.

The experience was good and they came really fast. They figured out what was wrong.

The plumber came within a day of calling for service. He was neat and professional. The old cutoff valve was in a location that was difficult to get to. He was able to remove it and relocate the new cutoff valve to a better placement. He worked efficiently, kept us informed as the work progressed, and cleaned up well. There is a one year warranty on the work as well. We had used Nugent to repair and re-seat a leaking toilet several years before, and were pleased with their work. That is why we called them for this job.

They came quickly, and knew what the problem was right away. They were able to take care of it within the time frame they said, and tried to be careful not to leave a mess.

The installation went well and the system worked perfect initially. I was happy with the quality for the price. We received first year service through Nugent and Sons, so I wanted to make sure they came out before our service contract was out. I took the day off work and waited and after the 4 hour window was up I called and they said it would be another 2 hours minimum. I said I couldn't take off any more time from work and would need to reschedule. When my wife called to reschedule she was told (rudely) that it was past the year of agreed service (even though it was due to the technician not showing up for the appointment that was within the 1 year). We just moved and the day after we moved the AC isn't working. Going to call another service company to troubleshoot.

very thorough, very happy with their A/C check

I purchased the $79 seasonal inspection from Angie's List for my AC unit. The technicians arrived at the designated time and promptly did their inspection. The unit is only a few years old, so I mainly just wanted to make sure the coolant levels were where they needed to be. Everything checked out OK, so it was a fairly quick and painless process. Overall, I was happy with service, and plan to use John Nugent & Sons again in the future.

On the hottest day of the year thus far, the elderly heat pump at my workplace stopped working. Because of its extreme age, I was afraid that I would have to buy a new unit, but on the recommendation of a friend familiar with Nugent's work, that evening I phoned and left a voice mail message outlining my problem. The next morning I received a return call from a very efficient young lady who took the details, and told me that someone would arrive between 12 and 4 pm. Joel showed up at ten past 12, assessed the problem (dead motor) and gave me a price for doing the work on the spot. He had the necessary part with him, and was able to have the air conditioning up and running again within half an hour. He was helpful and efficient, and gave me some tips about keeping the system running at its best.

The service and attention to detail from John Nugent & Sons is outstanding. These guys are the best. I enthusiastically recommend them.

Ben called first and then showed up early (I always like punctuality). He reviewed the situation, advised me of costs, repaired the toilet, left the area spotless. Ben was very friendly and let me know everything that was needed. All in all, a great job, very satisfied and I would use them again. I could have done this job but we sold our home and the home inspection report required it to be done by a licensed contractor. Nugent & Sons shows up and gets the job done.

.It seemed to go as planned. No drama, no hassle. They usually clean my gutters and recommended the roof cleaning at a price that seems to be standard.

repaired the AC unit. I paid the reduced price for the assessment and the minimum charge for the repair (loose wire). A great relief he didn't gouge me! Nice young fellow.

Very poor experience...beware the cheap diagnostic fee. We paid on line through Angie's for the diagnostic and then had a technician come by the next da to diagnose our air conditioning problem. After 5 minutes he said it was frozen and we needed to turn it off before he could start any work. He said it wouldn't be time efficient for him to unfreeze it with heat...fair enough and probably not uncommon, but he then told us we would get a call that afternoon from the office to schedule the work in the next two days. No call. After two days of hearing nothing I called them (and they weren't familiar with the issue and called me later that day after checking with the technician), only to be told they wouldn't be able to come out for roughly a week from the time of the diagnostic call. So the diagnostic "fee" was pretty worthless. I had to pay another company a diagnostic fee and they did the work 5 days before John Nugent would have shown up. Not impressed and can't recommend.

The servicing went well, and the provider was able to return my unit to provide heat in a timely manner.

It was a pretty straight-forward experience. Our technician was efficient and professional.

We live in a condo where the unit is located on the roof; where the work was performed. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem and repair.

I called on Saturday, and they were able to make a same day appointment. They arrived on time, and didn't take long for them to find and resolve the problem. It was quick and easy, and I liked that.

He was very professional and informative. He explained what we needed to know. He cleaned up after himself.

The technician was Ben Sauls and he did a fantastic job. He was very nice, professional and got the job completed in a very short time. He left my kitchen cleaner than it was.
