They were on time, but the plumber quoted $1,800 to install it, and claimed that it would need to be purged again in 48 hours which would require another visit and labor. The system itself costs less than half of the installation quote, and another reputable plumber was willing to do the work for $525 (and had no mention of a 48 hour purge, nor do the instructions with the system; nor online). So either they did not want to do the work and therefore provided a very inflated quote, or else had no idea what they were doing.

Definitely worthwhile, and John Nugent & Sons seems to be a solid contractor that doesn't try to sell you services you don't really need.

Shawn arrived on time, did the maintenance on the furnace which included changing filters on the furnace and humidifier. We have used John Nugent and sons in the past and will continue to use them for any maintenance or repairs in the future.

I got good information on what I needed to do (install smoke detectors in each bedroom, which I have done) and all my questions were answered. I asked why my recessed lights in the kitchen were flickering and was told it was most likely the wall switch. I asked the electrician if he could change it and install a proper one and he said he could. The cost was crazy expensive. The work took all of 4 minutes to perform and I was charged $187.00 for the switch and the labor. I find this cost to be absolutely ridiculous. After the switch was installed and the electrician had left, I saw the lights were still flickering so I called the office the next day. I don't remember who I spoke with, but was told that if the lights are still flickering, then it is likely the recessed bulbs that are going bad and I should replace them. When I questioned the huge $187 light switch cost, I was told that this is the standard charge for replacing a switch. This is totally not acceptable to me. If this is the cost for something so minor, I can only imagine what a more complicated job would cost. In the future, I will definitely shop around for other electricians, and more moderate pricing.

I was very impressed with this company. They were competitive in their quote, prompt in quoting and doing the work. The man who quoted delivered the quote as promised, was prompt in following up on my queries. The team who did the work were extremely good, thorough. They tidied up the complex wiring from the previous system and made it look immaculate. Their workmanship was very high standard. The team included an electrician and were able to provide the 240V at the panel to drive the new air handler in one system which was previously 120V. They installed Ecobee thermostats and understood what was needed to make them operational with the system. I was also impressed when a woman from John Nugent knocked on my door during the work to let me know she was stopping by to deliver a birthday cupcake to one of the workers. It is clear the business values its workers and this is reflected in the quality and pride they have in the work they do.

Nugent and Sons sent an engineer to measure and spec out the system the next day after the initial diagnosis. They were able to do the entire install within a week of my system breaking. I could not be any happier with my new Heat Pump and Air Handler. I already notice a huge improvement with the heating vs my old system. As far as the install went, everything was perfect. They came in and got all the work done in under a day. A team of three engineers did the install. They also spent plenty of time to train me on using my new system as well as my new Wifi thermostat. As far as price goes, I didn't have the time to get any additional estimates due to a fully broken system however the price seemed very reasonable for a company with such high reviews. They gave me the Angies list discount on the full system. In advance I received the part numbers for the Carrier Heat Pump and Air Handler and Wifi Thermostat that would be used. When I checked the cheapest prices online with no install, it was close to what I paid with Nugent and Sons. I assume they make the bulk of their money from quantity discounts from Carrier which is great for consumers like me. A day after the install was complete, I noticed that the way the Air Handler pipe was run to the side of my new unit, that it was a a very tight squeeze for me to get to the back of my system. Nugent and Sons sent a technician back to correct this minor cosmetic issue for me free of charge. The pipe position was altered to give me a little bit extra space. As a whole, between all the visits, (Initial Investigation of old system, Install of New system and Moving Pipe), I worked with 5 different Nugent and Son's employees. I would rate all 5 of them with the highest scores in every category. Another thing I liked about this company is that a month after the install, they sent me a Holiday Card with some cookies and also inquired how everything was working for me. Not many companies will actually check back with you to make sure you to make sure everything is ok. I can't be an happier with the total experience. I will definitely use Nugent and Sons for future preventative maintenance so I can get the most out of my new system.

The electrician came in on time, quickly identified the problems, and charged a very reasonable price to fix the issue.

Jason was our technician. He very thoroughly went through the furnace and all of the settings. We found that the inducer and the board were having issues. I had those replaced by Nugent last year and they covered the parts and labor under warranty. I had a cycling issue that later appeared. It turned out to be the humidifier. Jason did some troubleshooting and figured out that the humidifier fan was always on power and would cycle on and off with the humidistat. He rewired it so it only came on when the humidistat wanted and the furnace was also running. Nugent did this with no charge as part of the service contract even though they did not install it. I am very happy with Nugent and plan on keeping them in the family.

The experience was great. The person who came out to give us an estimate was very professional and noticed things that other plumbers had not noticed. For instance another plumber had said that we could not drain the washing machine into the pipe that the laundry sink was currently attached to. John Nugent's plumber took a close look and determined that the pipe was a width that could handle the discharge. John Nugent's plumber also pointed out that the gas line going to our dryer had a frozen cut-off valve that needed replacing. On the day of the work, Matt showed up and began the work. He realized that he needed some backup and called in a helper. Both were very courteous and professional and explained what they were doing. They did everything that was on the estimate and the price was exactly as stated on the estimate. They are a little more expensive than other plumbing companies, but in my opinion they are worth it because of their expertise.

Could not use this company. I was emailed and spoke to someone who told me they did not service my county. Requesting refund.
