"Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to hear that you had a less than desirable experience. Our records do not indicate that you filed a claim for damages after your move, so we are not able to address that issue. It is our policy that we do not move items until the threat of insects and rodents is removed for the protection of your items and your home. It is also an industry standard for movers to lift heavy items on their backs to reduce the risk of physical injury. Dollies are not used in residential moves because they can easily damage a customer’s property. Thank you again for taking the time to provide us with your feedback."

"Thank you for noting your concerns. We are very sorry about your experience. We estimated your two shipments at 25,300 lbs. total. As is customary with movers, we sometimes combine long distance shipments for efficiency. We planned to place your two shipments and a third one on the same truck. Based on the estimated weight, all three shipments should have easily fit in the same trailer. When your shipments were loaded, the weight and space requirements had increased by 4,150 lbs., or 16% more than estimated. The result was not all of your belongings fit and they were sent on a second truck. While we work diligently to perform accurate estimates, at times the weight and space can be more or less, based on the items being moved and their density. To address this, we will work with our Move Consultants to improve estimating accuracy. We also discussed your packing concerns with your crew members. They will participate in re-training of how to mark cartons so it is easier for customers to know what’s in each box. Once we realized everything was not going to fit on one truck, we should have contacted you. We are reviewing our Operations and Customer Service procedures to prevent this from happening again. "Thank you for taking the time out and giving us your feedback. We take complaints very seriously here at JK Moving Services, and we make sure we review every situation very carefully. It is to our knowledge that we sent a packing crew, as requested, to help you pack some of your belongings but were sent home, before the job was completed, for unknown reasons. When we pack, we use packing paper (non-newsprint), bubble wrap, special boxes, and quilted pads (respectively) on our customers’ belongings. We are sorry that despite this, some of your items were damaged during your move. We have never required that a customer pay in cash; we accept cashier’s/certified checks, credit cards, and cash – whichever the customer prefers. Again, we are sorry that some of your items were damaged, and thank you again for your feedback."

We recommend that customers be present at delivery into self-storage so they can tell us exactly how they wish to have their items arranged in the unit.
