Henry is a great resource of knowledge and very willing to answer questions. Everyone we dealt with was very patient with our needs and and issues. The work itself was done promptly and efficiently. We've been able to test out the regrading on a couple of occasions now since the work was completed and it has been a night and day difference. We are looking forward to being able to see the effect of the irrigation system this Spring and Summer.

We are repeat customers of Hemax and love their work! This time we needed a stone retaining wall built to match a stone wall that is by the front of our house. I also needed them to work quickly to take advantage of a paving discount I had in place to complete the work in two weeks which they were able to do for us. The wall is absolute perfection...We have a retaining wall by the front of our house and they matched it perfectly. Hemax also regraded our front yard which needed to be smoothed out from transferring a large amount of dirt from our garage build. The yard is smooth and looks really wonderful. (They also planted grass seed which I hope will start growing when we get warm weather). This is a TOP NOTCH company who does quality work at a reasonable price. STRESS FREE job because I know that the job will be done right with integrity, quality and professional in every way. THANK YOU, Hemax!

This project had a very tight building area in an high security/ high tech office building courtyard which required that they (Hemax)move all of heavy equipment and material (bobcats, steel, concrete pipes, excavated soil and concrete) through a finish hallway. The tolerance for accuracy in the pad construction was very small and they had to do it in extremely cold weather. Hemax performed flawlessly and on time. Hemax is not the least expensive option but they are very detail oriented, well organized, specific in their estimates and paperwork, maintain clean worksites do their jobs right and above all are nice people!

I would highly recommend HEMAX - they are extremely professional, reasonably priced and have a reliable, hard working crew. We recently moved and I contracted with HEMAX to build a 40ft long x 18in high dry stack stone wall around an existing backyard patio. I was impressed with HEMAX throughout the entire process - from design and recommendations - to material selection - to project build. The actual project took two days to complete and the stone wall turned out beyond our expectations and it really is a piece of art. I am now in the process of getting additional quotes and would highly recommend HEMAX to anyone seeking similar work.

Went perfectly. Showed up on time. Worked very hard. Soil compacted well -- no settlement at all. Put in layer of top soil, planted grass. drainage system works really well. I have a dry basement for the first time in years.

All went really well. Hemax worked hard. I think it took longer to break up our 1970's era pool than they counted on, but no complaints from them. They did a great job settling the fill dirt too. Its been about a year and the ground hasn't sunk at all in that year. They also installed a drainage system around the low part of the house, and that has been perfect. Basement is finally completely dry, even when with heavy rains for days. Great move hiring them.

I had a very good experience with Hemax. Their level of professionalism was exceptional and it was the highest of any other contractor that I have worked with over the years. In March, I got three bids from three different landscape contractors. Hemax was the only one that did not charge me for the consultation. They were interested in doing a lot more than a consultation and I liked that. Henry was straightforward and took the time to come to my house three times for this project. I had ten thousands questions and requests. He listened to me and he did not miss any details of what I wanted. He made recommendations and walked me through all details and aspects of what to expect and what I would need. Following his recommendations, I made the decision to temporarily move the heat pump unit off of its concrete base so they can demolish a 6x8 concrete slab and replace it with pavers and create a more uniform looking landscape. I was not ready for this in March so I had to postpone the project until November. Not only have I found his recommendations valuable, he took the time to explain the reason behind them so I can make the right decision. He is a diligent engineer and I was impressed by his project management skills. The installation team worked 6 days in my backyard and the quality of execution was impeccable. Their employees take pride in their work, and they take pride in the integrity of their work. The result was beautiful – a great combination of engineering and landscaping. I couldn't be more happy with the results and the high quality of their work.

Provided valuable suggestions for desired extension underdeck patio connecting to existing patio. Although delayed by weather, once work started, hard working crew and completed excavation (by hand! because of location of patio) and paver deck under our deck in 3 days! Also remulched garden areas around the new patio to make the entire area look fresh. Also gave recommendations for maintenance of existing patio (stamped concrete) to enhance appearance of that area. Biggest negative issue was again because of weather the week prior--lawn was quite soggy and heavy wheelbarrow loads damaged patches of lawn which will be a challenge to repair during hot summer sun months.

Hemax is the type of company I wish every contractor could be. Their office staff is very responsive and it doesn't take a year to get a quote. They are flexible with your schedule and give you lots of different options. Once the contract has been signed and the work started, each project was a breeze. Not once did I have a worry about what they were doing. During the paver patio in the backyard, I watched as they installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled the pavers numerous times before they felt they got it right. We previously had a horrible drainage issue where every rain, the patio would flood and rush down to the back door and then flood the house. They were perfectionists in making sure that wouldn't happen again. (Happy to report that they were right!) We were having a screened in porch done at the same time. They even cleaned up the mud mess and installed sod where the previous company was. It wasn't their mess but they made it right. For the tree and stump removal, it was a quick decision and we were thankful that Hemax could do it in such short notice. Not only did they clean up every little bit, they put down sod over the holes! I was beyond thankful that we didn't have a bunch of huge holes in the yard. You can't even tell a tree was ever there. For the front landscaping, again it was amazing. They had to work around window and siding work that was being done around the same time and be done before a large party we were having at the house. Again, they finished it all, worked with our schedule, and it looks amazing. They dealt with me being a pain and wanting to change some of the plants as well. It looks amazing, they even sodded areas that were bare and seeded where they couldn't place down sod. I love driving up to my house now and it's because of Hemax. We will use them over and over and over again and recommend them no matter what. I couldn't ask for better service. They're like the Amazon of the outdoor world!

Apparently there is some turnover in their office staff. While the person scheduling was pleasant, she neglected to inform us that there would be a fee (several hundred dollars) to develop a proposal. When we agreed to move forward with a proposal (after the designers visited the house), the office staff did not know how. I became frustrated and did not pay for a design.

We have used HEMAX two times - once to install a flagstone patio and another to install some swales and catchment basins for an area of our yard that was experiencing heavy water run off. They were great both times and we would use them again. The employees are polite and professional. They proposed good solutions to our problems and sought our input before implementing their work plan (this allowed us to make a minor adjustment to save a tree we liked). They did not disturb us in the home, and cleaned up the work site when they were done so the yard and patio were ready to use right away. We highly recommend their services.

His vision met our needs. The initial proposal was professional and included a scaled drawing. The workers were prompt and neat and respectful. The work was expensive but worth every penny.
