Needed to have a fence installed. Estimator came out much earlier than our appointment - no apologies or explanations were offered. The price I was quoted was excellent. I tried for several weeks to call and schedule the installation, pay the deposit, move forward in any way - with no response. At one point I learned that our estimator had been on vacation. He eventually contacted me and disclosed additional fees for the fence. I felt like I had worked too hard to try to pay this company. I eventually started the process all over again, and went with another company.

Based on conversations with my neighbors and co-workers, Fence contractors around DC are notorious for their non-responsiveness. Not the case here. Chuck was great. I had a clear idea of everything I wanted so the team was great about letting me spec my exact fence. Additionally, I had work I wanted to do when the fence was down. The crew accommodated me without hesitation. All-in-all, a great experience.

An absolute nightmare -- that is still ongoing. We contracted Builder's Fence Company to install our fence on 8/24/17. We were given an estimate of 4-5 weeks to project completion. It has now been 7 weeks and our fence is still not complete. From the very first sales appointment, which was missed, I should have seen the writing on the wall: communications and follow-through are sub-par, at best here. The second sales appointment, on a Saturday, was attended by the sales person Jarrod Dorozynski. He assured us that the fence company would handle all of the fine details, such as establishing our property borders by comparing our property vs. the plat and finding buried metal clips that mark the property boundaries. We were told that they have installed many ActiveYards aluminum fences and that this job would be a straightforward, one day visit, start to finish. Nothing could be further from the truth. Let's start with the first scheduled visit. Builder's Fence Company did not pull a permit with Arlington County and was readying a crew to dispatch to our site. When I called in they claimed that a permit was pulled, but after assuring them I spoke with Arlington Zoning about the matter, they finally relented and canceled the job -- even though they were about to send a crew to our house to build a fence w/o a permit. A fault *WE* as home owners would be 100% responsible for reconciling with Arlington county. On the second scheduled visit Builder's Fence pulled the permit, but they build an incomplete fence, missing important hardware (such as latches to close and secure gates, drop polls to hold the driveway gate properly, caps for the front gate posts). Further, the fence was installed poorly. One section is uneven (where a post is deviating from the posts it adjoins), there are many scuffs and scratches and dirt and rocks that were dug up to sink the posts was haphazardly dumped all over our property -- on top of less visible mulch beds as if a poor attempt to conceal the problem. During the dumping of this waste, one of the worker's knocked on our door, apparently realizing that dumping all over client property may not be the best decision. We asked them to take as much dirt with them as they could, as they offered to do so, and to fill our modest wheelbarrow with a modest amount of dirt that we could use for our landscaping. Our wheelbarrow was left with a flat tire, and dirt was left all over our yard. One of the sections of fence that divides our property from our neighbor's property appears to be crooked. In bringing this up to the company the sales person Jarrod assured me over text messaging that the fence was in fact following our property and promised that he and his production manager, Ted, would visit our property on a Monday (Columbus Day) at 12:00 pm. I confirmed the visit. Unsurprisingly no one showed up. No one called. When I reached out to Jarrod there was no response. The only way I was able to get this company to even address my concerns was to escalate the issue directly to the attention of the owner of Builder's Fence Company (Dave Swisher), Home Depot and Active Yards. Now I am receiving a measured response, though the Builder's Fence Company is disclaiming all liability about the fence placement, despite their salesman promising the fence would follow our property boundary and the contract having a stipulation stating that the plat would be used as a guideline for the property boundary. Now, as a home owner, I have to spend many more hours escalating this issue to the appropriate personnel at Home Depot and quite possibly even litigate to achieve an ideal resolution. So this is my experience with Builder's Fence Company as of yet. I will update this review should the experience change or improve one way or the other. For now consider me an extremely dissatisfied and disappointed customer who feels both betrayed and swindled. All of these issues could have been avoided with better communication up and down the chain. I sincerely hope the situation can be made right.

As I was leaving my home my next door neighbor was at my front door as I opened the door. I did not even hear my door bell ring. She begin to tell me how nice the fencing looked and that she wanted to do the same thing for sometime. My new fence really illuminates within my community. I will hire this Contractor again.

My experience with Jarrod and his team from builders fence was incredible from start to finish. They gave me the price (and I got 4 estimates from different companies). I wanted a fence that was higher than the existing fence but did not obstruct my view. Jarrod spent so much time coming up with solutions for my yard that would meet my individual needs (there are some challenges with my yard layout), and meet my price range. He patiently waited while I mulled my options over. He and his crew are amazing. They work so quickly, my fence was built in 1 day! It is gorgeous! My only regret is that i didn't do this sooner! Fantastic. Scott and his team were professional, friendly, and talented from start to finish of the project. They arrived promptly in the morning and finished a beautiful dog ear picket fence in our back yard by the end of the day. These guys are fair, through, and honest. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Jarrod was quite possibly the best sales related experience I have ever had, he was honest, to the point, and helped me even when I changed my mind a few times-HE NEEDS A RAISE. The crew came in and were very respectful of my property, and when they started, the fence went up beautifully and faster than I had even seen done before, and I have been involved in several over the years. I would give Jarrod and his crew were awesome from start to finish, not a single issue or concern. Would hire them again for myself, friends and family.

Jarrod came out for the initial estimation. With Angie's List discount, their price beat two other local companies by a few hundred dollars. The quality of the fence is great and we are pleased with the entire process.

Start to finish the experience was excellent. Jarrod was very prompt with responding to questions and making sure everything was the way we wanted it even up until a few days before installation started. The demo/installation team showed up and finished a two day job in one day and cleaned up after themselves as to not leave a mess afterwards. Fence itself is made of what looks like quality materials that will withstand elements for years to come with proper treatments of course. Gate hardware is smooth and all the gates open easily. The actual gate latch took me a few minutes to figure out how to lock so my kids won't escape but afterwards I like the style, the little kids won't be strong enough to open for a while. Overall, excellent experience and if/when I need a new fence I will call them again. Thanks again Jarrod and your team!!

Great experience from start to finish. Jarrod was a pleasure to work with, was up front, courteous, and very responsive. Price beat the competition (and included thicker gage metal for wire mesh) and Jarrod gave us great advice on where to put the fence line and how to keep length of existing fence.

They were very good. It was a great price and great service. They were very prompt. There was a very low wait time. I was very happy. They had great customer service and attention to detail. They were the best price around. We shopped around at three different fencing companies, and they were the most affordable. They gave a good warranty on their product. It was not just the price, it was the warranty on the work.

Overall great fence for the price. I guess not everything that I discussed with the guy who gave me the quote ended up in the contract, so I didn't get exactly what I wanted, but it was good enough for the price. The people who came to do the fence didn't know exactly what was in the contract either, so I'm happy I was at home. Was picking cigarette butts up all over the yard for a few days after which wasn't very nice. Overall still happy with the fence because no one else could beat the price. I just wish that the company would send someone to 'oversee' while the fence is being built, preferably the person who talked about the design/ quote in the first place.

They were very prompt, the price was excellent, they were very easy to work with. It took them about two days to install the fence. They cleaned up after themselves. We are in the country, and they drove their truck out into my drain field. They should maybe ask about that when servicing people in the country.

Jarrod reached out a land set up an appointment to survey the area and discuss options. He came ready with materials to show different options and was candid with his opinion on the best fit for our budget, yard, desires, etc. On install day his crew was prompt and swift yet thorough. Would use again in a heartbeat if needed and would recommend to all who are interested. The company is also very military-friendly.

Fantastic! Builders sales representative, Jared, was knowledgeable, responsive, engaged and patient with all my many questions. Even though we were happy with a previous supplier's fence replacement we chose Builders based on our interaction with Jared. Selling is only one element though. Now onto execution. All we can say is WOW! Melvin (pronounced Melbin) is a fantastic ambassador for Builders. His crew included two other guys and all three of them worked so hard. The finished product could not be better. They cleaned up everything! You would never know work was done here - except for our gorgeous new fence. Highly recommend Jared, Melvin/team and Builders.

Scott stuck with me every step of the way. He guided me through the entire process including dealing with my Homeowners Association. I can't say enough about the incredible service I received. During installation, I needed my grill put back on my deck. It had nothing at all to do with the fence installation. The installers were more than willing to put it up. It was nothing for them but meant so much to me. They went above and beyond in every aspect of the transaction. Thanks again Scott Ruete!!!! I will recommend you over and over again!!!

Outstanding service from my salesperson Jarrod Dorozynski and his hardworking crew. He responded quickly to my request for a quote, was pleasant & professional and answered all of my questions. I asked him to quote it multiple ways and he did. He explained the different grades of fencing and did not try to talk me up to the higher priced options. I'm very pleased with the product I chose with his help. It looks substantial and was exactly what I wanted. The crew put in a 12 hour day taking down my old fence and installing the new one. I had expected them to take 2 days and they did it in one. They left the site clean of debris. The fence is level and looks amazing. I would highly recommend Builders Fence as a very good value. I had another quote that was considerably higher.

Very well! The men came at about 8:15 am as promised and worked very hard in hot weather to finish by 6:30pm. They were very nice and professional and answered questions my husband had during the process. The fence looks great and we are getting compliments from the neighborhood!
