The crew arrived early - at 7:30 am & was done by noon.  It was just about 2 weeks between the time I sent them the contract & deposit and the day the work was complete.  The builders seemed very knowledgeable and gave some good suggestions (like putting the mesh wire on the inside of the fence so that the dogs can't knock it off as easily).  I got 2 other estimates & despite the "amazing promotions" they said they were offering, Builders Fence came in $500 below the next lowest bid.  I feel like they are a solid, hardworking small business & I would recommend them to anyone.

The entire experience was great. Dave contacted us immediately to set up an appointment to come to our property. He recommended a great solution to fix an issue in our side yard that resulted from a recent construction project. He was able to give us a quote before departing our house. Within a week, Ted's team arrived with materials in hand. They worked quickly and professionally. Our new fence looks great. We have already received compliments from the neighbors.

You can see my original comment below, but I wanted to provide an update.  The company president, David, called me to discuss my first experience and offered to personally come out and talk with us about what we wanted.  We just finished the second consultation and I must say it was much improved.  David listened to what we wanted and provided good ideas and feedback. 


Original Comments:  We were scheduled for a two hour window for a deck and fence estimate.  The sales representative showed up past the two hour window (although did call to say he was running late).   When he arrived, he did not bring any examples of work that his company did, he did not sit down with us and talk about what we wanted or provide any insight into what would meet our needs.  Best of all, he did not even have a tape measure and did not appear to be able to read our property survey correctly.  When he left he said he might be able to get us an estimate that evening or Saturday at the latest.  A week later, we still have not received an estimate.

Dave came to our home to inspect the job site, and he promptly provided a quote via email.  We decided to go ahead with the job, and provided a down payment (50% of the cost).  Dave came to the house again before the work started to ensure that the job-site was ready for the crew (e.g., the property boundary was properly marked).  The crew arrived on time and efficiently completed all of the work.  The fence looks great, and the crew did a very good job cleaning up the work site.  We're very happy that we chose Builders Fence Co.

Initially Jack, the employee who was to come and provide an estimate for fencing our backyard, called and said he would not likely make it by the end of the two hour time frame they had given me for the appointment. Then he called back and said he would make it if I could wait 25 minutes. I waited, he arrived, and after surveying the yard, said he would have an estimate sent to me by the evening. He did not send it that night. I emailed the next day requesting the quote, but I have never had any response or received any quote. I would not recommend wasting your time with this company.

I had another fence company give me the run around and I called Builders Fence. They had a sales guy come over the next day and he provided me the written quote at the end of his visit. He knew we were in a rush and the guy that scheduled the install called to say they had an opening a few days earlier than scheduled to see if that was okay, which it was. The crew called an hour ahead as promised and they completed the installation in about 4 hours. They were neat and left everything around the fence looking good.

It was a pretty smooth experience. Scott was responsive and helped consult us on the materials and style. He was also flexible with a last minute change before we signed out contract. The new fence was installed on time with no leave-behind mess and really beyond our expectations in terms of looks/finished product.

Fast work, diligent & competent team, and did a walk through afterwards to make sure I was happy. Came back when I requested a board be replaced and a gate latch to be adjusted, 30 days after completion.

We had a fantastic experience with this company. From the time of measurements to the last deck inspection, they took care of us! We had seen the amazing work they do on other fences and decks so it was a no brainer for us. We have received so many compliments from neighbors and visitors on how beautiful the fence and the deck look.

They went over all of our options and even when my husband changed his mind last minute on the exact layout of the fence they were completely accommodating. We plan to have them install a large patio with fire pit in the Spring and we look forward to calling on them again!

This company is fantastic.  I got 5 estimates all but one was from Angies List and Builders gave me a great deal and their reputation is impeccable and I checked them out on BBB site and also I verified their license with the state and ensured they didn't have any claims against them.  It all came down to 2 bids, Builders and a competitor.  Both were the same price but the competitor could not match the outstanding reputation that Builders Fence has.  And that is why we went with Builders and I'm so glad we did.
The crew showed up on time (actually a touch early), they immediately went to work and continued working until the job was complete.  It was a large job and we were unsure if they could finish in a day but they did and they did it without sacrificing quality.  The crew was amazing, they hand dug all of the post holes and there were a lot of post holes.  I was very impressed.  The crew was very nice and personable.  I could not be happier with the job they did.  The estimator Jeff was VERY professional and very nice.  Many of the other bids that I got, the estimator was not nearly as professional.  One of the other bidders wouldn't even put the bid in writing, needless to say he was immediately eliminated.  Builders gave me a complete written estimate with a drawing, all material types were listed including the type of nails to be used.  The complete dimensions of the fence and gates were listed on th estimate.  Outstanding.
I strongly suggest that if you are looking for fencing, you call Builders Fence.  I am very picky and I try to check any contractor I hire and I could not be happier with this company, they lived up to their reputation and then some.

They installed some stockade fencing around our backyard and double gates plus a steel cable fence on our retaining wall. The final product was perfect. Some minor adjustments were made after the installation. Dave Swisher was very helpful.

Fence was installed within 2 weeks of our signed contract.  Everything looks great and we could not be happier!  We will most definitely use Builders Fence Co again in the future when we fence in the rest of our backyard.

Dave S. (owner) came out and provided the initial estimate personally. Very friendly, and was a referral from a neighbor who used his company. Price of the quote was much more competitive than the other quotes I received, and I proceeded to sign a contract for the service installation. Day-of came around and his team came onsite to install the fence. I had accidentally sent in the wrong quote when I signed the contract, and that quote was for one gate. He accommodated a last-minute change to the quote and sent another vehicle out with additional materials to install a second gate. Installation was probably around six hours, and the final result looks fantastic.
Would absolutely recommend contacting Builders Fence for an estimate on similar work.

Very prompt, professional, and neat.  Work was completed in a little over a half day and they hauled off all the debris.  The only glitch is gate hardware, which they had to come out and adjust a bit, but otherwise it was an excellent experience.  Highly recommended. 

Great experience start to finish.  Timely and cost effective.  Would/Will use them again.
