Roof replacement was the fastest and most efficient job we've ever experienced. The 8-member roof crew completed the work within 4 hours! This was not a small house, approximately 2,000 sq. ft. We personally got up on top of the house and visually inspected the roof. Everything looked A-OK. Additionally, they thoroughly cleaned up all leftover debris both on the roof and around the house. His 3-member gutter crew completed gutter replacement within 2 hours in 96 degree heat and just before a heavy rainstorm. During the storm, there was no sign of dripping or leakage from the new gutters. Bill Augustine, the roofing company owner, did not require any advance payment until job completion. Of the several estimates we received, his was the only one not requiring a down payment or a full payment up front! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Mr. Augustine came soon after I talked to him and gave me an estimate on the roof and explained everything to me. His men did a beautiful job on the roof and cleaned up everything when they were finished. Mr. Augustine was fair and had a laid back approach when dealing with me and did not require a down payment. I highly recommend this young man and his company.

I awoke on Saturday morning to find my foyer covered with water and drips coming from the ceiling. A small branch had landed on the roof in a storm and punctured a small hole. I called a few places, but Augustine Roofing called me back right away and said they would come out that day to take a look at it. Bill Augustine and his wife stopped by a short while later. Despite the rain, Bill went up on the roof and inserted an extra shingle to prevent any more water from coming in. I was so impressed with them that I made arrangements for him to come back and do a permanent repair. Unfortunately, the crew that came to do the repair was not as impressive. While they successfully repaired the hole, I had a difficult time getting them to satisfactorily re-attach a loose soffet and metal flashing in another area. It was better when they left than it had been before, but water still ran off the side of the roof. Because Bill took such great care of us on the day of the storm, I will give him another shot at my business despite the less impressive performance of his crew.

I chose Augustine Roofing (AR) after obtaining bids from 4 other companies, all of which I learned of through Servicemagic company. AR contacted me immediately after I requested an estimate and became the lowest bidder (by $300), which made me a bit skeptical initially but after comparing the details of their proposed scope of work, I became confident that they could perform the task. I was also impressed with AR's communication with me during the period leading up to my final decision as I had many questions that were filed to AR via email or telephone calls. All of my phone calls were answered the same day either by the owner, Bill, or his wife, Erin who also works at the company. I think the two make a great team. Once I made a decision to go with AR, they were efficient in selecting a date of repair. The team showed up the day before actual workday to pre-position all of the materials and then the next day, they were right on schedule early in the morning. I came home that day only to find a brand new roof and no sign of ever having any roofing work done that day. The AR crew had completely cleaned up my driveway and backyard, and it looked as if someone cleaned up the entire house. The roof looked fantastic. It was the easiest contracting job I ever had to deal with. I would recommend AR to absolutely anyone. Bill Augustine was a dependable owner who has effective communication skills and runs a first rate operation in the region.

We solicited bids from three roofing companies. Augustine was (by far) the most efficient in getting back to us with an estimate and provided a very fair price. This is a small company and in our case it was a great fit! The office manager, Erin, is personable, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. The owner, Bill, came out to do the estimate and talked us through various color options and indicated what his team could do for us. When he left our first meeting we had an estimate, a full shingle sample (to use in our HOA approval process) and the shingle manufacturer's materials, as well as a link to its website. We had a slight delay in beginning our project because of rain storms, but not an onerous delay. Erin was great about working with us to find a rescheduled date that would work with our family's needs. The complete job was finished in one day (7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.). The crew was pleasant and considerate. The job site was left clean and neat. We found a few roofing nails in the yard that washed off after the next rain storm, but only five or six. A few days after the job was complete, Bill came back by the house to make sure we were happy with the end result. We would recommend Augustine Roofing. We felt like they cared about getting our business and worked to do a good job from first to last contact.

This company is no-nonsense professionalism! Bill Augustine came out to my house and gave his honest opinion about the condition of my roof. There are no flashy sales people with high pressure sales to deal with. Mr. Augustine is honest, straight forward, and takes great pride in his work. If you've ever watched the show "Holmes on Homes" this is the type of guy that Mike Holmes would hire because he does not just replace a roof; he replaces a roof right and with pride in his work. The materials showed up a week before the install. They were hoisted up to the roof and left for Mr. Augustine and his crew. On the day of install the crew showed up at 7AM and got right to work. I do recommend being prepared for the installation day because this type of work is LOUD. Mr. Augustine, and his crew, placed tarps around the entire perimeter of the house to catch falling debris, and they also used a magnet to clean up loose nails after the job was done. They did the entire roof in one day including removing all the old roofing material, replacing rotted wood, new singles/flashing/drip edge/weather guard, and clean up. Several neighbors have commented on how great the roof looks, how professional the crew was, and how quickly they got the job done - and I couldn't agree more!

Bill and his group are great. Bill is a no nonsense type of guy. He gives a good quote (the best we received after looking at about 6 companies) and tells you the advantages and disadvantages of the different products he can provide. He was backed up on his gutter orders, so it took longer than expected, but the work was done right. Just from our extensive shopping around, Augustine Roofing was the best value in the whole Northern Virginia area.

Start of project was delayed twice due to rain, but Bill was ready when the weather broke so there were no further delays. Roofing crew showed up at 8:00a.m., done by 3:30, finished clean-up and gone by 4:00. Good job, good clean-up with no damage, lots of rain since but no leaks. Two things that put Bill ahead of the competition (besides competitive price): He was the only estimator to actually get up on the roof; and his wife and partner, Erin, who makes sure calls are returned and is just a neat person. Also, impressed that after the contract was signed specifying one brand of shingle, when it became apparent that we wouldn't be able to get the color we wanted in that line, Bill switched to a different brand without fuss or extra charge. He was also patient about getting his money until we could actually get up on the roof and look, as it was a couple of weeks before the snow melted so we could see it (it started snowing the evening the job was done!).

After rescheduling the inspection appointment once (at Augustine's request), they did not show up within 30 minutes of rescheduled appointment time. No one from Augustine called to let me know of a delay, and no one answered my voice mail asking where they were. I left a note informing them that I would find someone else to do the work, and have yet to hear a thing back from them.

Augustine Roofing did an incredible job installing a new roof on my recently purchased house. On schedule, they deposited the materials on my property the day before the job was to be initiated. The next day, they showed up on time, completed the installation, and removed all of the remnants of the old roof without any incident. The price they charged was unbeatable. Bill and Erin were great throughout the process. Bill sent me an estimate for the project via email on the day I first called and kept to the price originally provided. He followed up on all of my subsequent phone calls and showed up on time at my house on the day I met with him to sign the contract. On the day the job was being completed, Bill and Erin spoke to me and addressed all of my questions about the project. I am a first-time home-buyer and was a little worried about dealing with the contracting world. I was extremely fortunate to have found Augustine Roofing. Bill and his crew are first-rate and are definitely the best deal in town. I highly recommend them to anyone needing roofing services.

They gave an estimate for the work to be done. They did a good job. They cleaned up after themselves. They left minor amount of stuff to be cleaned up. They were careful not to damage surrounding plants and shrubs. Their price was in line with everyone else. They were punctual.

They did an excellent job. The owner came by for a time during the job to make sure it was progressing properly. They got it done in a day. One of the reasons we selected them over other companies was that they had specific roofers insurance so that they would cover the cost in case of an accident. They had tarps large enough to cover my home in case they couldn't finish due to rain. The warranty was also significantly longer than the other companies.

They were very responsive. They were also much more reasonably priced than other companies. Bill Augustine personally came out the first time and he was very responsive and honest. Nice guy. I would definitely recommend them and already have.

The owner came for the estimate, was very well informed, friendly and helpful. He was slightly higher than my other bid, but was willing to meet the lower price and included an extended guarantee for the work. He scheduled the work to begin within a week. His team (they only do one job at a time) showed up right on time, were professional, friendly, careful (they protected plants and a hot tub I was worried about before I had to ask) and cleaned up without a trace. They encountered and repaired several invisible problems (rotten decking) and removed a useless attic fan without additional cost. They stayed late to finish the job in one day. The crew manager was especially friendly, careful to keep me informed and efficient.
