ceiling started cracking after 2 days. He came back to repair but has not returned to sand and paint. have not heard from him in many weeks. no return calls. coming to do the work was hit or miss on when he could make it. Too many jobs going at once. Not happy with paint work in house. Too rush to finish, not enough time to do good work.
Description of Work: installed new flooring, pergo and tile, repair sheet rock in ceiling kitchen and paint, as well as paint other rooms.

Don't hire this contractor. He says he has a license for plumbing and electrical but he does not. He does have a general contractors license and he passes off his insurance, which we never got a correct number for as his proof, however you must have separate licenses to perform anything other than minor repairs in plumbing and electrical. Everything he did has had to be repaired. He put down a new tile floor and we realized later that he did not glue the tile boards down and barely screwed them in so the tiles are shifting and cracking all over our very huge kitchen. Needless to say the removal and re-installation of our floor will be in the thousands of dollars. He put in molding on the sides of the cabinets and we had to hammer down the sides of the nails on the inside to keep from scratching ourselves as the nails he used were so large they went through the molding and the side of the cabinet with half the nail still sticking out of the inside. He moved all the electrical and created new boxes without a permit. He did the plumbing without a permit and it's now leaking and will have to be replaced. Our ceiling in the kitchen will have to be torn down to get to the plumbing upstairs in the bathtubs. All the tile had to be ripped out of the bathrooms because we realized he didn't support the structure around our new drop in tubs and they had to be rebuilt to support the weight. He never waterproofed the sides of the walls so all that had to be ripped out and when we brought in the tile person, he just laughed and told me everything that was wrong. He also wanted to know who could do such a sub par job to keep that person from ever coming near one of his jobs. In truth, the only thing I can say is that Chris always answered his phone calls and was the most prompt contractor I have ever met. We've used many contractors before and although they all do things that are annoying, we've never taken anyone to the contractors board or gone as far as to write a review. This guy is dangerous and should be investigated and we plan to do our part in that. Do not hire this guy-he's a one man band-there is no "REAL" company we soon found out.
Description of Work: Mr. Maddox had been contracted to help do a minor remodel the year previous and did a fairly good job and we contracted him the following year for our bathroom remodel since his price was so reasonable. He told us he had a plumbing license and an electrical license. This is a falsehood-although he does have a contractors license we soon found out you must have separate licenses to perform anything more than a minor repair in both plumbing and electrical. As time went on during our remodel the quality of work was getting to be worse and worse (I have pics) to the point where we just told him to get out of our house. The plumbing is wrong, all the tile work had to be ripped out and redone, he did not waterproof the walls and now the plumbing is leaking through the kitchen ceiling and it will take $1k to rip out the ceiling and fix the plumbing on both tubs. Our floor tiles are cracking in the kitchen because we learned he never glued down the boards where the tiles went on and the tiles are shifting. He actually put in the door handle upside down in the door and told me, "the manufacturer must have made it that way" when I pointed out that we could not open the door correctly. That was when we realized he was to the point of ridiculous. The things we thought he did correctly (which is why we kept hiring him) over time have had to be replaced. The wiring is crossed where he put in new outlets and the heat pump he installed leaked a flood and shut itself off a few weeks ago and had to be repaired. In short, if Chris "fixed or remodeled" it, we had to go back and really fix it from plumbing fixtures, to simple things like a door handle, faucet alignment to large things like major leaks. If you saw some of our pictures you would RUN away from this guy! The title of his company is Maddox Restoration and Repair-amazing. He will tell you he has insurance for electrical/plumbing which he passes as a license-don't fall for it like we did-it's been a very expensive nightmare. You can contact me and I will be more than happy to share my pictures. We are currently taking him to the Richmond Contractors Board for investigation. We contacted him several times to come and make restitution and never got a response. He is punctual though! I never met a more punctual contractor!
