When I saw that window later, I realized they had put seven gouges in the sill, and that the window frame itself had been broken in one corner. The glass on that side is separated from the sidepiece of the sash.
Old Dominion had cleaned the windows two years ago and had done a terrific job. I wish the workmen had told me they had broken the window frame. Now I'll have to have this repaired and where the gouges are the worst, have someone either sand them over or work in some wood putty.

We called a gutter repair company (thinking the gutter must be in need of repair - they had just been cleaned). The gutter repair company came out and pulled handfuls of debris out that was clogging the "elbows" of the downspouts. He said the horizontal gutters were clean - however, they did not clean the downspouts. Both front downspouts were full which is why the gutters were spilling over the edge.
I called several times and had a game of phone tag with OD. Every time I called back, was either away from her desk, doing payroll or otherwise unavailable. Truth be told, I gave up after a couple of phone calls. I tried again to reach out to them weeks later via phone, email and even their contact page online (I was not looking for a refund or a re-do, just to explain that the work needed to improve). Again, Terry was never available and I got no response from my emails or contact request.
"this is very unusual as Teri is very attentive to our customers, as many others have mentioned in their comments. I believe the time period between cleaning and your calling was much longer than two weeks, we will always come back out if a short period of time has occurred. We have a few customer than think that one gutter cleaning last a very long time. Which unfortunately gutters can refill in as little as two weeks. I don't know all the particulars in this case but if we failed you, I am very sorry. We try our best but can make mistakes. Mike"
The outside lights were hard to disassemble and hard to clean. I don't think they had been cleaned since the house was built in 1984!

"Due to fact that there were multiple sections of gutters and had to use ladder on all, the charge is warranted. There is absolutely no acceptance for a bad attitude. We highly apologize for that and will have a discussion with the employee. Mike"

I was told the crew would arrive Saturday between 8:30 and 9:00, they showed up at 10:00. When the gentlemen arrived, they said they didn't realize how how the ceiling fan was so hadn't brought the right ladder (that was odd since I'd sent pictures) and they said they didn't know anything about the gutter cleaning part of my work order. But - once they started work, they worked hard and diligently, and the windows and mirror just sparkled after they were done. I was trying to stay out of the way so didn't observe what happened regarding ceiling fan, the crew lead said he "pieced together some ladder pieces" to reach and clean the ceiling fan, I didn't realize it was so dirty until I saw how clean it was when they were done.
I was surprised though, when he presented me with a bill that was more than the initial estimate yet didn't appear to include the gutter cleaning. I knew I had asked to have some of the screens washed, not counted in the initial estimate, but it still seemed high. And after the crew left, I noticed some issues: windows unlatched (including one I couldn't reach), some screens were loose, and there were some marks on the wall where the ladder rested against it.
DON"T PANIC AT THIS! Here's where the quality of the company really stands out. When I informed the office of these issues on the Monday following, they were genuinely disappointed to hear of the problems and immediately set out to make it right. They agreed the bill should have been better itemized and said that YES it was supposed to include the gutter cleaning, they sent someone right out to do that. They apologized for the other issues, said they spoke to the crew about what went wrong with this job, and sent someone over with a big ladder to latch & recheck the windows, and clean my walls and apply touch up paint where needed (luckily I had paint.) So even though there were some initial glitches, I can tell the company really stands by their work, cares about their reputation and will work with the customer to make sure things are right in the end. I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again.
