We had a complete kitchen remodel and LOVE the results! The entire team at Nicely Done Kitchens were so easy to work with and their professional demeanor helped to make the whole renovation process go smoothly. Our designer, Kate Couchman, created the kitchen of our dreams! She took the time to meet with us and designed a kitchen that is not only functional but also truly beautiful. We are forever grateful for her creative talents and expertise. We were also very pleased with Steve Endress, from E&S Renovations, who served as the contractor for our job. He did great work and communicated well with us throughout the project. He made time to met with us when we had questions or needed to make minor changes. His crew were polite and respectful and each day made sure they cleaned up before they went home. Our project manager, Olivia Kwan, helped to keep the project on track. She emailed frequently and notified us of any changes regarding the schedule. She personally inspected the cabinets and appliances prior to installation. We would gladly recommend Nicely Done Kitchens to anyone who is considering remodeling their kitchen.

We were referred to Jackie Lluy at Nicely Done Kitchens by numerous people who were very happy with the results of their newly redesigned kitchens. We had a dated kitchen and connecting space that was underutilized. Our goal was to increase the usability of the space and create an inviting environment for everyday life as well as entertaining family and friends. Jackie spent time working with us to think through what we did and did not want and then turned those discussions into 3D schematics we used to help visualize what was possible. Once we finalized the design Jackie brought in Steve Endress from E&S Renovations. Steve and his team were absolutely professional and great to work with throughout demolition and construction. They rerouted the gas line; added plumbing to support a new sink; rewired much of the electrical wiring; installed new windows, hardwood floors, kitchen cabinets, appliances, sinks, lighting, and countertops; built a new opening between two rooms with sliding barn doors; and painted all of the rooms. All of the specialists who worked on our project were incredibly easy to work with. When you have people in your home for 5 weeks, it matters who they are and how they interact with each other and you. Everyone who walked in our home was kind, mindful of our time, and most importantly did top notch work. Our unique countertops deserve special mention. Jackie's design of incorporating a table area into our island was carried out with amazing detail. Juan was extremely detailed, made suggestions on the table shape to enhance our sitting space, and created a truly one of a kind island that leaves our guests awed. Jackie and her team at Nicely Done Kitchens worked closely with us and Steve throughout construction to make the necessary changes that come with any remodeling project. Additionally they managed the timeline and logistics of all elements of the project. We always knew where the project was in terms of time and scope and Jackie and Steve made sure that the timeframe, scope, and price expectations set up front remained in place throughout the project. We have had many friends and neighbors ask who remodeled our kitchen and we have referred them to Nicely Done Kitchens. We recommend you reach out to them as well.

An excellent job overall; we worked with Jackie and Steve, who were entirely professional the entire time. Jackie's design was fantastic and fit our needs beautifully, there was very little that needed modification. Steve's crew very ably put it all together with outstanding results. Little imperfections noted along the way were fixed entirely to our satisfaction and without any fuss. We would happily hire NDK again, and can easily recommend Jackie and Steve to anyone.

They wanted to chage 32,000 for half the work of what Globe Kitchen did. It was a woman, and she didn't really listen to me. She said something about moving appliances and didn't really put it into context and what she sent back to me for a plan was not at all what I wanted. With Globe I got a complete run down of everything that they would do. With her I had the cabinet, labor, and total, that was it. It was the same price. She had a computer and she showed me the plan for our kitchen. I didn't get any read out or anything, I just saw it on the computer and she took it back to the office. I didn't like the plan she had at all. She said it will be in the office once I get ready to do it. It was just such a different experience from the nicely done kitchen. It really was not a good experience. My daughter used them a few years ago and she worked out fine. She didn't have a problem with them. I went to them because of that. I had a neighbor that live in the same area and they actually had a bad experience with them. They do respond very quickly.

Superb in all respects! Our designer, Maria Ida Davis, was fantastic. The first thing she did was visit us in our home to learn how we used our kitchen and what we liked, needed and wanted. At all times, she went the extra mile to ensure our new kitchen design provided maximum utility and functionality within the space available. It took creativity, unique problem solving and customized cabinetry to design the kitchen that fits us perfectly. The Nicely Done Kitchens showroom has a broad array of cabinets from which to choose, as well as a large selection of flooring, counters and fixtures. It also works closely with several suppliers of granite and marble, tile and flooring, fixtures, appliances and specialty items. Maria accompanied us when we visited suppliers and provided valuable knowledge and insight. She was always helpful but never pushy; gave us the time we needed to make our decisions. There is an outstanding team at Nicely Done Kitchens that makes the project go smoothly. The Project Coordinator was always available and responsive. The Operations Manager coordinated a well-planned schedule of work and deliveries and was on site when deliveries were made. Before work began, she arranged a meeting at our home, which included the Designer, Construction Coordinator, Electrician, Plumber and Installer. She provided a detailed schedule of when everything would be done, everyone’s role was understood and all questions were answered. Throughout the project, everyone on the team always was available to help solve a problem or make a decision. Nicely Done Kitchens delivered a kitchen we love. We are extremely happy with both the project and the way it was done.

One of the things that put me off a little about them was that any fixture that was in the bathroom could not be re used. Since they like a large medicine cabinet, we put one in not to long ago. They said no, that we had to replace that because they could damage it when they moved it. So essentially they were going to give me the identical cabinet back and charge me another $400. We did not feel that they were going to provide us with the best value. I think they would have done good work, but I don't think they would have been a great value for me. I think they did all they could do. I guess I would say that they should be able to consider reusing serviceable fixtures like the commode or the medicine cabinet. I understand why they are reluctant to do that because they just never know what they going to get into. It was thorough. They would renderings unless you give them money.

Nicely Done Kitchens did a wonderful job remodeling our kitchen. Jackie is amazing designer. She listened to our needs and preferences, gave us great recommendations and options, and then worked with us to keep the project within our budget. Very importantly, Nicely Done was about the only contractor we got a bid from who would commit to completing the project before Christmas. They finished on time, as promised! The end result is spectacular--both visually and functionally. Steve and his team who did the actual construction work were very professional and did high quality work. And the rest of the Nicely Done team (Rachel, Tom, Olivia) were there for major deliveries, answered our questions along the way, and kept us informed about the next steps throughout the project. We couldn't be happier about the outcome!

Our house had not been remodeled nor redesigned in over 30 years. It was awful. Thank goodness for Nicely Done Kitchens (NDK) and designer Cathy Goss. We have a small kitchen and it we feared we there was not much we could do with it but what a transformation! Cathy and the entire group and NDK were professional throughout the entire project. Cathy listened to what we were hoping to achieve, things we wanted to have in our new kitchen and came up with great design. We had appointments at our house with Cathy and Keith from A&L Construction (also fabulous to work with!) Cathy, Keith and his crew worked through the plans at our house and we knew we were in good hands. When the cabinets were delivered NDK’s Project Manager was at our home to take delivery. And when the counter measuring took place Cathy was in our house overseeing the process. We really felt everything was being taken care in a most professional way. Anytime a question arose Cathy was available by phone or email and questions were resolved. I was so worried about having this work done… until we hired Nicely Done Kitchens! Cathy’s experience, knowledge, and ability to work with all of the crew really made this a successful project. Our kitchen is amazing. As they say, “A picture is worth a thousand words.”

Nicely Done Kitchens and Baths (NDKB) recently renovated our kitchen, powder, dining and living rooms; we wanted to provide some feedback. From our initial meeting we had with our designer Jackie Lluy to the last meeting we had with her to make sure the final punch list was indeed final there is only one word that comes to mind: FLAWLESS! We have owned homes in the DC metro area for over 25 years, and have had a number of contractors performing renovations, services, and home-related repairs during that time. When many of these contractors return our calls, we feel as if we are just another work order and have not seen pride in their work. They were consistently late with deliverables, over budget, and full of excuses. In stark contrast, this was certainly NOT the case with NDKB. We have been envisioning our dream kitchen for over a decade so you can imagine the forethought we had been considering for every detail. We had a very good friend that did extensive research and decided to use NDKB for her renovations. We were so impressed by the job they did for her, that we decided we didn't need to look any further! We have a town home that was built in the early 80's; very segregated room concept, bad "flow" and severely outdated kitchen, living room, dining room, and powder room. Our designer Jackie was absolutely amazing. She spent several hours with us to get a "feel" for our home, and asked very detailed questions to find out our specific expectations for the renovation. She listened very carefully to our desires and drafted the plans accordingly. We did not have any significant changes to any of her recommendations, coming from a very detail-oriented CPA that says quite a lot! She was with us every step of the way to guide us, make recommendations, and work together to achieve our desired results. We did extensive renovations on over 1,000 square feet of our town home - the entire "middle" level was gutted and replaced. NDK came in ON TIME AND WITHIN BUDGET. Quality work, on schedule with stellar communication is priceless. There is no way to fully express the pride in craftsmanship that Steve Endress and his crew put into every detail of our renovation. He was extra careful to ensure that every detail was absolutely perfect from the very beginning to the end of the process. The communication with the entire team was amazing. Everyone was so responsive; as soon as I would send an email or a text any time, day or night, week day or weekend I would always get a quick response. Cheers to you NDKB, you greatly exceeded our every expectation. We strongly encourage anyone considering having your kitchen remodeled to STOP LOOKING and go to NDKB. You will be amazed what their team can do to make your dream a reality!

As disruptive as a renovation can be, there are no words to express how wonderful NDK's team--Carpenter Brian, Plumber Donny, Electrician Dave and Tile Expert Leo were the hardest working, professional team I've known. They used a lock box to enter the home and we trusted them implicitly. I can not say enough about their finished work. The quality of the work, the quality of the products used were top notch. Outstanding.  But we expected this because of prior experience with Nicely Done.  It's not easy to have workers demolish important parts of your house while you are living there, but Nicely Done not only understands this but goes to great lengths to limit the impact on the home owner.  Their sub contractors are punctual, friendly, and very efficient.  They are also clean and respectful of our home and take great care to lessen the impact of their work on the occupants.  In our case, they did one bathroom at a time.  They gave us time to rotate to the other bath as they completed each one.  They were neat and clean, and they cleaned up after themselves.  We had personal attention from a Project Manager and two others, one of whom was the designer.  We were never left "hanging" with either questions or actions.  Materials were delivered just in time so we weren't buried in boxes.  In one telling case, a wall was found to be so badly out of plumb that the shower door couldn't be hung.  Also, the selected toilet would interfere with the door.  That might have flummoxed another company, but not Nicely Done.  They were on it immediately and presented us with several options.We chose to tear down and rebuild the wall and selected another toilet.  This solved the problem, but my point is that this was accomplished well within the original time constraints.  In other words, their responsiveness didn't impact the completion.  With a less professional company it very well could have.  Yes, this cost a little more than the estimate, but Nicely Done was very fair and open and gave us options. 
Bottom line: we couldn't be happier with the results, the experience, and the professionalism of Nicely Done Kitchens.  Their team is great.

We enjoyed working with designer Jackie and construction manager Steve.  Both were exceptionally pleasant and completed their portions of the job in a timely and professional manner.  During the design process, Jackie worked with us to ensure that our custom kitchen design suited our needs perfectly.  She offered numerous ideas in an effort to meet our needs, style and budget. I also appreciated the varied expertise NDK provides.  For example, when we could not determine the best solution for replacing 80s era railings, Jackie called on the resources of the architect at the firm.  The construction phase was primarily managed by Steve.  He worked to ensure the construction was completed on time and met our shared standards for high quality.  The subcontractors he had on the job were appropriately supervised and I felt comfortable having the workers in our home.  Overall, our kitchen remodel went smoothly and I would recommend NDK to friends and family, just as it was recommended to me by a friend.

We had the best experience with Nicely Done Kitchens. We met with our wonderful designer, Cathy Goss, who showed us three different designs. I loved that! We chose one and tweaked it from there. Cathy was so easy to work with and had lots of great ideas about how to turn our small, problematic kitchen into a spacious, beautiful one! We bought our house when there were only two of us and three kids later, we needed a bigger, more functional kitchen. The design process was painless and fun and the implementation process went smoothly as well. None of the fears you hear about remodeling applied here--we had a very pleasant experience. Our price tag didn't change and the project was completed within the time frame given up front. We love our new kitchen and highly recommend Cathy and NDK to anyone!

The bathrooms look good, and I believe that the subcontractors on the job were thoughtful and careful doing the work. The subcontractors were quick to correct any problems. Nicely Done's project management team under-delivered and at several times during the project, left me with the impression that they had no idea what was going on at our house. The designer who helped pick out products was helpful, and she did the right thing in having on-site measurements and bringing in people to the job site. She was thoughtful in reviewing contract details. Once we signed, a team showed up for our first meeting at the house and demolition was able to start right away. I felt pretty good at this point. Our designer then turns the project over to a project management team (2 people) who did come to the house periodically to check on the subcontractor. This is where the communication problems started and when I realized that I'd really overpaid for the project. My take-away lessons that you may want to know: 1. Don't pay ahead of time for installation. I was really, really worried when we had paid 73% of the total project with less than 25% of the promised work done and no reliable information on schedule from the project management team was provided. And they asked for another check at the same time that I pointed this out. I realized that I paid way too much for the project. I started holding future checks until work was actually completed, and they did not complain. Undoubtedly my original payment probably covered all their costs so it was pretty low risk for them. 2. Understand that you're working with a firm that primarily subcontracts and that you'll need to pay a lot more attention to every detail than you think. Keep your own lists. 3. Know that your project will probably take longer than you think or that is in the schedule. The schedule was for completion over ~8 weeks and it actually took ~12 weeks, but it did get completed.

Designer Jackie Luly was great!  She took our desires and also elicited the things we did not want ( like not wanting an overly sterile or all white design) to come up with an inviting contemporary design with state of the art features that matched our 'transitional' style--with LOTS of storage!!!.  Jackie helped us select and coordinate the materials  and appliances, making suggestions, but not trying to drive us toward her preferences, and instead ensuring our choices worked within the concept she created for us.  Jackie also stayed involved throughout the project and even arranged for us to donate the old cabinets, appliances and counter tops to a local organization specializing in affordable housing for low income families.

General Contractor Steve Endress and his crew were exceptional.  Polite, punctual, skilled, responsive and flexible--these guys made the difference between a construction project and a transformative and positive remodel experience.  In any major project things come up, whether it be late cabinet deliveries, roads closed by snow, or finding a no-kidding abandoned wasp nest among the ceiling joists. His guys took it in stride, kept the work site clean and the project moving forward with great craftsmanship. Despite being a townhouse, this was not an easy remodel.  To get our open concept we had to take out a load bearing wall and insert a manufactured beam. Steve always gave us a sense that everything was in competent and experienced hands as he coordinated the structural engineer's consultation, installation of the new load bearing beam, pulling of county permits and ensuring everything passed inspection the first time. His guys even repositioned a couple of outlets they had already installed when we came up with the idea of including a flat screen TV on a swivel mount. This really added to our enjoyment of this fabulous addition to our living space and now we can either watch TV while preparing meals in the kitchen or while lounging at the dine-in counter after a meal.

This has been our second kitchen remodeling job done by Nicely Done Kitchens.  We were so impressed with the work that they did on the home that we sold, that we chose to use them again to remodel the kitchen and two bathrooms in our newly purchased home.  The designer whom we worked with understood what we were trying to achieve and made recommendations on tile and granite that worked well giving our rooms a totally new look and feel.  We are extremely pleased with the professionalism and attention to detail that was shown by all who worked on the project.  The craftsman who did all of the ceramic tile work in the 2 baths and the kitchen backsplash was very talented and consulted with us on various small design features for the tile placement.
The project proceeded on schedule and budget.  We were kept informed throughout the project on any schedule updates. The work areas were left in good order at the end of each day, debris was cleared, and all old materials and fixtures removed and taken away promptly.  
This company is easy to work with, and works to address any concerns that may arise. When we found that the microwave we had chosen was larger than what we anticipated, they worked with the vendor to return and replace the item.  When we had a concern about one section of granite that had been installed, the owner of the company visited to evaluate the situation, and agreed to have the one section removed and replaced with granite matching the flow of the veining as we had requested.  

We wish to thank Nicely Done Kitchens for the excellent work that was done on this second remodeling project.  Top to bottom, we are pleased with the results!  Our new granite kitchen and bath countertops are beautiful, and the new tilework  in our master and guest baths  - showers included -- looks fantastic.  We highly recommend Nicely Done Kitchens.

newly renovated kitchen done by Nicely Done Kitchen and Bath (NDKB).  I?ve had a number of folks tell me the
kitchen looks like something out of a magazine.  This was due in large part to my designer, Jackie Lluy.
This was no small kitchen renovation.  Rather the entire space was transformed,
literally from floor to ceiling and everything in between.  From start to finish the project took a mere 8
weeks which I thought was incredible.
Steve Endress and his folks that performed the work were true professionals,
and the workmanship was top notch.
This company is truly interested in providing outstanding
customer service.  Any small issue that
cropped up was addressed promptly and thoroughly.
As for my willingness to refer others to NDKB, I?ve already
provided the company?s contact information to one friend who is contemplating a
kitchen renovation.
I?ll be considering a bathroom renovation in
about a year, and there is no question as to who I will call upon to do the
work.

I've only contacted one company since I've joined Angie's List for a bathroom remodel and the woman who came out was very nice but they wanted to do a complete high end redo which I was not interested in and they weren't willing to do the smaller amount but I kind of figured that's the kind of company they are so it didn't work out.  She came to do the quote October 30th.  There was no charge for her to come do the quote.  I would want others to know that I explained on the phone what I wanted and they came and the woman was very nice and encouraging about it and then called back and it must have been when she talked to her bosses or something and the quote was, to me, exorbitant so I think they should say high end remodels only if they're not willing to do like just tiling the floor or updates or things like that.  Not everyone wants, see I have a Historic house and I don't want it to look like Donald Trumps' bathroom.  She was definitely knowledgeable and she appreciated the house and I think she was embarrassed when she called me back.  I don't think it was her fault but the quote she gave me, the bathroom is basically about 9 by 5, not a large one.  I did not want it expanded.  The quote was $50,000 and my brother who does this kind of work in Minnesota and he does very high end and he said that was insulting.  They did not want the job here is what it meant to me.

"It is sad for us to receive an overall grade of "D" for simply providing a quote and not being contracted for any remodeling. We take great pride in our staff, our designs, and our finished product. We are a full-service remodeling company, and we are not set-up to do partial tile-changes in bathrooms, etc. Those types of jobs are typically handled by a "handyman" service. We don't have any record of a written quote for this project, since the Designer (no longer active with our firm) was not asked by this client to move forward to the second phase of our process, which is providing a written and detailed budget, along with preliminary designs, proposed materials, and scope of work at the appointment in our showroom (also complimentary, as is the first appointment at a client's home). Our pricing is very competitive for our level of work and service, as exemplified by our very high grades for many years from numerous rating services. We regret if there was any misunderstanding from the client on our process."

,I have been thinking about a new kitchen for about 10 years and after retiring, I did it. After doing lots of homework, I had Nicely Done kitchens remodel my kitchen. Everyone that I had contact with was very professional and nice. My designer, Jackie, was very responsive to my needs and was patient with my million questions. The project manager, Rich, came to my home several times and answered my questions and more very patiently. The contractor, Steve, gets an A+ for sure. I was home for the remodel, and he explained what was happening everyday, why some days no one came, and called me daily to tell me when a person or persons would be here. Every person who came here to work was very professional, courteous, and efficient.   Now, this next part is for people like me who have never done a remodel!!!  When your project starts, you get a schedule about when everything is suppose to happen which was great. I have always just worked 8 to 5 and thought contractors did too; however, this is not the case because there are lots of other things happening too. Steve did explain to me that there are other projects happening and the workers have to be moved around in order to keep the labor costs down. This makes good sense, but I did not know. There were days when no one was here, but the kitchen was completed when the schedule stated. Again, this was all new for me.
My kitchen is beautiful; the cabinets, the hardwood floors, the hardware, the recessed lighting, etc.etc. Nicely Done Kitchens will be doing my bathrooms in 2016, and I will ask for the exact same people to work with me, and the same workers who come into the house if that is possible.
