He completed the job immediately and professionally and was promptly paid. He refuses to supply a professional written receipt. I am required to submit this invoice to the homeowners association and to the settlement company but now he refuses to communicate or supply the paid invoice I am entitled to by law. He would have received a very high rating but due to this completely unprofessional handling I would tell everone in the Real Estate Industry to NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR! You will not receive proof of work or payment from them!!!!

I am completely unsatisfied with the work completed and the damages to my home that require me to pay another repairman to re-do a portion of the work. Most of the projects they were hired to do were not fixed and were actually made worse from their efforts. On the phone when I scheduled the services, company said the charge per hour was $65. They did not state anything about a second person, or any additional charge per hour. When they arrived at my apartment, they brought a second person, however did not tell me anything at that time about a different hourly rate. After the work was completed, they said the charge per hour was $100, citing that they accomplished ?twice as much work as one person,? however that is not true and much time was spent together discussing how to complete projects and the two employees went to the hardware store together (and tried to charge me $100 an hour for doing so, and an ?upcharge? on the cost of supplies). For the charges pertaining to supplies, I requested a copy of the itemized receipt from Ace Hardware, which the company was unable to provide. The provider showed up over an hour late. The whole situation became a billing dispute and required a large amount of time to come to an agreement with the provider. I could go into great detail about the poor service provided, but I will simply say to my fellow neighbors, do not use this company.
Description of Work: A short list of handyman projects such as trying to repair a running toilet and a loose handle, change a stuck filter in a refrigerator, hang pictures, repair a closet door track, etc.

I'm so disappointed to have to write this review, but I think it's important to share my experience since I have previously recommended Jaron's work. Unfortunately, based on his most recent work with us, he exhibited a lack of accountability and integrity- I will never work with him again. As detailed below, he didn't complete the project as promised and then tried to charge us to finish it. We began working with Jaron about nine months ago, and he performed a number of jobs for us - repairing a broken TV and running cable cords through a wall so it could be wall mounted, fixing a toliet and assembling an IKEA piece. We were generally pleased with the work and so we proceeded with a larger project - installing recessed lighting in our large dining room. We agreed on a price for the electrical work, which included patching up and painting the ceiling. We have an open floor plan that gets a lot of light from several windows, and the ceiling in dining room, the next room and foyer is contiguous. We told him that the paint left by the original owners was in the basement and that we'd give it to him but wasn't sure if the paint would still be viable as I was sure it hadn't been used and didn't think the ceiling had ever been repainted. Jaron never asked any questions about the paint. He completed the electrical work on the lights, but things went awry when it came to patching up the paint. Long story short, his attempt with both the original paint and the subsequent paints he brought over didn't match, and our ceiling looked like it had water stains. We finally brought in a Sherwin Williams rep who agreed that patching was not the answer given our setup with the open floor plan and all the light coming in that shows everything- the ceiling in the two rooms and the foyer would all have to painted in order for it to be uniform. He came to this conclusion in minutes - which led me to question why Jaron, a supposed professional contractor, hadn't spotted this as an issue when he accepted the project and discussed it with us so we could make an informed decision. Instead of painting the ceiling in the foyer and two rooms, Jaron then announced that he was going to charge us for painting the ceiling - thus increasing the cost of this project by 55%! Worse still, he was bold enough to suggest that he was doing us a favor as the price he offered was actually a "discounted: one - totally failing to recognize that all we were asking him to do was follow through on the job he'd promised to complete. We relied on his expertise regarding this project, and we had absolutely NO notice that matching the ceiling paint could be an issue that could potentially require painting the entire ceiling in that section of the house. When we stated our position, that we shouldn't have to pay anything additional, he implied that he "usually" discusses potential issues with patching and said that he would have to charge us since it would be a day's work. This is distinct from a situation where one might not anticipate a problem ( i.e., he opened up a wall and discovered a wiring issue.) It's very clear that the room gets a lot of light. As an experienced contractor, we would have expected that he would be aware of the potential of a paint matching problem and given us the opportunity to evaluate the consequences of that possibility before moving forward with the work. We should not have to pay over 50% more for the job after it turned out that he was unable to match the paint. Our position was that we shouldn't have had to pay anything and that Jaron, who clearly misjudged his ability to patch the ceiling, should have eaten the cost. However, in an effort to reach an acceptable compromise, we offered to pay something - an amount more than a 30% increase over the original project cost. To our shock, he didn't immediately accept this generous offer and proceeded to try to continue to haggle with us. After a few emails back and forth, he told us he would charge X price for one coat of paint but 2X for two coats, and he couldn't guarantee how many coats would be needed. At this point, I just didn't feel comfortable proceeding with Jaron. I got the sense that he was just going to do whatever he had to do to check this off his list since he wasn't getting the full price he'd demanded, and I wasn't confident that he would complete this work in a careful, professional manner as he characterized the time he would be spending at our house as "lost money." We have a huge, heirloom china cabinet in the room- he'd said he didn't need to move it to paint the whole ceiling but I just didn't trust that he would be able to paint the ceiling around it without damaging it. Ultimately, we paid more to get a professional painter to paint the two rooms and the foyer because I just didn't feel we could trust Jaron. The strangest part of all this was that we'd worked with him before AND had discussed a number of future projects (installing crown molding, etc.) which we fully intended to pursue. By conducting business this way, he got out of a day's work but lost a lot of money in future projects at our house.

Ok, but did not exactly fix everything we wanted. We had a loose stair nose, which was our main reason for calling. While the provider tried to fix this, he could not because it was too worn (understandable). He said that he would look up a replacement part (matching laminate flooring), but never got back to us.

He did a great job. He is nice, responsive, and reasonably priced.
Description of Work: He fixed our cabinet doors, disassembled our son’s bed, built a loft in that room, added two fans in two rooms, replaced some drywall in a bathroom, rehung some doors, rescreened some stuff, and installed lighting outside.
