About us

Marty Engel is the business owner and meets with all his customers for floor covering selection. He brings samples of wood floors, tile and wall to wall carpet to the job site and personally measures/inspects areas for new carpet, floors, steps, railings and refinishing of existing wood floors. He prepares detailed written Proposals and has worked with the same team of installers for almost 20 years. He is also a factory dealer, for almost 30 years with industry leaders such as Shaw Industries, Mohawk Carpet, and others. Floorcraft provides professional service from clear communication to timely installation, clean up and follow through after the sale. Referrals are their best source of business. Experience has taught the team players at Floorcraft that there is always room to grow and learn. Problems are only solutions if approached with a positive attitude. The salesman for this company was excellent.  The installers were timely, professional, and friendly.   They were reasonably priced.  They also did more than I expected, such as reinstalling a new door floor plate after installing the carpet. Overall, I was quite pleased and highly recommend him.

They're terrific. They clean up after themselves and they don't leave a mess. Marty is a pleasure to work with, he gives a quote and he sticks to it. He shows up on time to do the service. He also has a mobile showroom and brings samples of all of his products. If he doesn't have something specific he'll make an arrangement to bring out additional samples to you. He's very honest, honorable, and ethical. He's a man of his word and very responsive with his services. I trust them to do work even if I'm not home. I highly recommend the service and the company.

They were on time and did quality work. It did not take them very long to finish the work because it was a minor repair. The floor was damaged when I had heating and air conditioning equipment installed in my basement. The guy warned me that it might smell bad a little bit because of his work on the tile, but I wished that he had told me ahead of time that there might be a smell and what it was from; anyway, it was actually not that bad. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

Entire experience was excellent. Marty was very responsive, gave us a fair estimate for the work, and was quite accommodating when my spouse and I were indecisive about colors. He sent us several samples. We were finally leaning towards one of the colors, our realtor concurred (we're getting ready to list our home for sale),  so we placed the order, mailed a check for the deposit, and Marty notified us approx. 10 days after the order that the carpet was here, when do we want it installed? The attached photo shows the finished work in the color "Tea Stain" by Shaw. The installer "Max" and co-worker were friendly, professional, did a superb job and quickly, too.   We are completely satisfied with the results, and kind of wished we were hanging around to enjoy it longer!  We'll get a few weeks, anyway.

I was referred to Marty by my carpet cleaning company (Kingstowne Carpet Cleaners) I needed some advice on a troubled area on my hardwood floors.The boards are separating in one area of our dining room. Marty was very prompt to get back to me and was able to schedule a visit very quickly. He determined we had some water damage that needed to be addressed and then Floorcraft would be able to repair the area. While at my house he took the time to answer my many questions about hardwood flooring and care. He also took measurements of my carpeted areas for future replacement. I was very happy overall.

We can't say enough good things about Floorcraft. The work was done on time and at a reasonable price. And more importantly, they laid a beautiful hardwood floor that matched up to the exist floor almost exactly. The only difference is that older floors had slightly wider gaps between the planks but you have get down on your knees to even notice. Per the previous commenter, yes, Marty relies heavily on his foreman, but guess what, his foreman does a great job. And as if this is not enough reason to choose them, we had a refridgerator leak that damaged the new flooring and Marty came through again. They fixed the damaged section PERFECTLY. We absolutely recommend Floorcraft.

The head contractor was only briefly at my home and he relied on his forman and his team to do all of the work. The foreman was responsive to any problems that i had. When a different contractor moved the refrigerator accross the floor and left deep scratches they did an good job of repairing the floor. My dog also got locked into one of the rooms with carpet and tore up a section about 2x2 ft and they repaired it with left over carpet and it isnt noticeable. The overall quality is average to above average. I would use the company again but I would make sure to be very specific with my expectations and check in on all phases of the project. I had three contractors working on my house to repair major water damage. of the handyman, painter and floors, I am most happy with the floors.
