I am a one person operation. Having been in the Green Industry for 39 years, I have come to the conclusion that the best way to take care of a client's needs is strictly hands on work. I will occasionally bring in day help. Payment is upon completion unless it is a large project then partial payment at start. I also install vegetable gardens using our own compost mix .

I can do most any project that deals with a yard or commercial project. I have installed walkways, rock walls, dry creek beds, large boulders. Trees up to 4" caliper with all smaller types of trees and shrubs. I am very qualified to do custom pruning. That is taking overgrown shrubs and bringing them back to their original shape and size. Consulting for insect and disease issues is a regular part of my services. I also have experience removing asphalt drives and installing gravel drives.

I called Mike and explained that I needed some dirt moved and graded. I told him he really needed to see the job because it had some particular specifics involved. Mike came out to my farm to provide me with an estimate. After looking everything over and discussing the project at length, Mike was very honest in letting me know that his equipment was not suited to my requirements. We discussed options and Mike was helpful in referring me to someone that had the appropriate equipment.
Mike was punctual and very generous with his time. He made a thorough assessment of the job, and although he felt he didn't have the appropriate equipment he was willing to consider who might be able to help me. After talking with Mike I'm certain he is more than qualified to undertake my job given the appropriate equipment; and, I would not hesitate to call him again in the future and utilize his services. He was even nice enough to help me with a stuck garage door while he was at my farm !
My feeling is that Mike is experienced, honest and fair.

Mike is a reliable, honest, hard worker. We had a couple off weather set backs, but Mike worked through some very hot and long days. So much so, I was worried about him a couple of times, but he is self sufficient and brings everything he'll need with him. He is a very pleasant, mannerly down to earth kind of guy. Enjoyed having him work for me and will certainly call him in the future as I think my retaining wall (dry stacked) is beginning to give way and railway ties beginning to rot.. I think there isn't anything he can't do.

Garden steps, retaining wall, and back gate to my garden were tumbling down as old railway ties rotted away. Mike rebuilt the steps and retaining wall and repaired the gate, and everything looks lovely. He replied promptly to my calls and texts was very friendly and helpful to deal with. I'm planning to get him back to work on another project next summer.

Mike did an excellent job and was very kind. I was particularly impressed with the care he took when york raking our yard to get out all the ruts and gullies. He worked with us and had simple solutions / suggestions to our needs. He didn't try to sell us on everything possible or the most expensive solutions, he helped us come up with a step by step plan. He also didn't cut corners like other contractors who gave us estimates. For example, we really needed to put down 2 tons (4,000 lbs) on lime on our red clay yard, so that is what he estimated. Other contractors gave us an estimate for 200-400 lbs of lime which would have done almost nothing, but gave us a cheaper estimate. He also chose a very nice brand of seed, not the cheap Kentucky 31 mix with tons of weeds. Mike worked around rain storms, and mud pits, and kept coming back till the job was all finished up. We will hire him again. But, all that said, he is not the cheapest... but you get what you pay for and he was worth the extra cost because we got what we really needed.

We had some setbacks getting the scheduling done, but when all that got ironed out, things went beautifully. Mike was thorough and worked very hard. He was informative and provided helpful tips along the way. My sons were helping with some of the clean up and greatly enjoyed working with him. Yard projects are never ending around here, we hope to work with him again in the future.

We needed to have our long, uphill driveway (that was full of ruts) graded so it was more driveable. Mike went out there to take a look at it and although he couldn't do the job himself (as we needed it done in short time frame and he wasn't available), he gave us lots of good advice about how it should be done, and an approximate cost. He went to see the driveway when he said he would, got back to us right away, and seemed genuinely interested in us having the job done right. Since this is a newly obtained house for us that has a yard that hasn't been maintained, we are looking forward to working with him in the spring with our yard and landscaping. All in all, a very positive experience!

We moved into a house with overgrown gardens and unmaintained landscaping. The house also had a small fenced paddock leftover from ponies years ago. Mike came in with knowledge, equipment, and experience to re-claim the garden spots and tame the landscaping. Mike did the bulk of the work, allowing me to assist where I could to increase productivity and increase my familiarity with the plant life surrounding our new house. He identified what was growing around us and made recommendations. Together, we removed dozens of overgrown, ugly bushes from a pool garden, vegetable garden, and from beddings around the house. We cut back overgrown trees and removed stumps. We removed the old paddock fencing, opening up the yard to other uses. He listened to our ideas for future intended goals for the spaces, and then gave great advice on how to achieve those goals. All the while, teaching us what we can do--not what he can do for us (not pushing his services further). He was really personable and friendly, it was like we were working with a lifelong friend who came over to help us out. He was punctual, arriving when he said he would. He stayed late to ensure the job was completed to satisfaction and the worksite was left in a safe state. We will definitely look to Mike for our future landscaping needs. Highly recommend his services.

We have rental property and the house was built sometime in the 50's. Along the way a basement apartment was constructed and two egress window were added. The interiors of the wells were constructed with railroad ties and overtime they had become rotten and were about to cave into the opening. This was a new venture for Mike but he researched the project, materials and time required to complete the job. He gave me the measurements needed to order the wells and he took over from that point. He picked up the wells and brought them to the jobsite. He and a helper carefully removed the old railroad ties and prepared the space for the new wells which are approximately 6' x 3'. The wells were attached to the brick house. When the old ties were removed, the space was larger than the new wells and Mike had to get gravel to fill the space to keep the wells secure. The work was completed in the estimated time he had on his estimate and when he left the jobsite it was left clean and free all debris including the old railroad ties. He and his helper were very courteous and respectful of the tenants living in the apartment.
We are extremely satisfied with the work that Mike completed for us and would definitely recommend him to anyone seeking his type of services. Anyone will find him willing, able and respectful. He promptly returned phone calls and answered all our questions. We give him an A++++.

Mike came in and did a fantastic job removing a bunch of old overgrown blue rug junipers. Removing those things is a chore but Mike brought in his bobcat and tore them out in no time flat. He also noticed a couple other small stumps along the driveway and he removed those without being asked! Rarely do you get someone in who does more than requested just because it is the right thing to do! He cleaned everything up and it looked like he had never been there which is all you can ask from any service provider!
I definitely plan on having Mike come back to remove all of our remaining landscaping so we can start fresh in the spring!

Mike was very knowledgeable about the condition of the trees on our property. He gave advice about how we could care for several of the plantings. He did a great job on the walk and returned to show us how to care for it. He made a great suggestion about where to place my rain barrel and diverted the roof gutter to fill the barrel. He even made a stand for the barrel. We are looking forward to having him return to care for our trees in the fall.

Mike did an incredible job. Not only did he move the fill dirt, but he compacted the mass and tilled the top layer. Additionally, he graded and tilled the pathway (there's always a scarred pathway when moving earth) so that we could easily plant grass seed to cover the scar. There was no obligation for him to do this, but he did it to help. Mike is genial and affable, and he listens. This is helpful when trying to explain the desired end-state. We also appreciated Mike's knowledge about landscaping and gardening, which he is very forthcoming with. We will use Maintained by Mike again in the future when we come across another challenge for which we need help. Great service: punctual, competitive, clean, and efficient.

He has since done work for my parents in 2 different locations and they are very appreciative of his work. He is superb. We will use his expertise for years to come and value his insight. I asked him to plant a few things this fall and he said no, better to wait and see what comes up in spring and invest our money then when we know what yard shares with us and what pops up (bulbs,etc). What other vendor would do that?! Not take my $ and recommend I save it for a better return? Added bonus, he and his wife have a farm and brought us some squash. Great guy! Use him! But, not too much as we are really going to need him come spring.

I brought Mike on full time from Jul 15 until Aug 31st. He was in charge of all exterior work. He also worked with my other contractors and assisted with any painting, carpentry, debris removal, and overall logistics. Mike is a extremely trustworthy, reputable, and anyone who uses his services will not be disappointed. I would not be able to complete my renovation without his help. This is my second time using his services.
