They were great in explaining the different factors that may contribute to uneven heating in our home. The technician was thorough in crawling through our basement/crawl space trying to follow our maze of ducts. They recommended several options to improve the situation, and were frank about which options weren't worthwhile. Very helpful!

The initial service call was good. In addition to performing the initial servicing, which included replacing the filter in the handler, they spent a good bit of time helping us better understand the system, as we had just moved into our home a couple of months earlier.

It is always great.  Their staff are always very courteous, professional and thorough.  Each time they clean my heat pump, they put in new filters so I don't even have to worry about doing that.  The folks who do the scheduling have great follow through to be sure they connect with you and get you scheduled.

They showed up and figured out what the problem was really quickly. He cut the PVC, vacuumed out the line, added an access port and left quietly only costing me $79. Amazing company!

I had an old distributor pump that was leaking.  Big noisy thing.  The guys from Mack Morris came and replaced it with a much smaller, much quieter unit.  Everything went just the way they said it would.  Replacing the pump was a cinch.  Bleeding all the radiators in the house and then repressurizing the system after the pump was installed was more of a job and required skill and experience.  They did a great job.  I'm glad I didn't try this one myself!

My AC was not working. They came within a day or two and found that the compressor was not working. They also found out by looking at the serial number that it was still under warranty :) ! The ordered the parts and came back about a week later. They had done some work for me last year on a second unit where another company had told me to replace the entire unit- Mack Morris replaced that compressor and it was less than $4K- it is working great and so glad that I did not have to spend another $10k!

Our heat pump was working terribly in the winter and not at all in the summer so they diagnosed the reason and we decided to replace it rather than repair it.  They installed a high efficiency American standard unit.  They were busy so we had to wait a little for the installation.  They were always prompt in coming to the appointments.  The unit actually did not work after they first installed it and they said it was a factory defect, ordered the correct part and installed it a few days later.  New unit works very well and they even do a complimentary follow up cleaning/tune up.  There was a rebate associated with the unit and they got all the paperwork ready and provided it in a folder with all the other manuals and such.  Very organized and professional.  I called around to try to price out similar units and found most of the competitors to lack professionalism or follow through and all their quotes were higher anyway.  Glad we used Mack Morris.

Great!  We were very pleased.  The problem was diagnosed on May 15.  The next week we were contacted for someone to come and assess what needed to be done.  The new system was designed and a proposal given to us by early in the week of of May 25.  The system was ordered once we gave the final approval, and the installation took place as planned on June 2 and part of June 3.  Everyone who came to our home was very courteous and respectful of our home.  We had envisioned somewhat of a mess to get the old attic unit out, but that was not the case.  Our hardwood floors and stairway were protected.  Everything was cleaned up.  The guys were all very nice and pleasant to have in our home.  We thought the price was very fair.  There was a rebate on the system, so Mack Morris just lowered the price accordingly and did not make us pay up front and wait for the rebate.  They filled out the paperwork for the Dominion Virginia Power rebate and mailed that in for us the day following the installation.
We were very pleased wtih the installation and also the quality of the equipment that we were sold.  We highly recommend this company and look forward to dealing with them in the future on our other heat pump.

I live at the top of Walker Mountain, not an easy climb on a dirt road. He arrived the same day as I requested and as a courtesy called earlier to let me know he was running behind because of an earlier job. He located the source of the problem within minutes, and then offered some very cost efficient suggestions to fix the problem. Honest services are hard to find, stick with Mack Morris!

They call us and remind us and we schedule it then. Their service is always prompt and appropriate. One time on New Years Eve, something happened and we found ourselves freezing our butts off. We called them and they had a guy here in 45 minutes. There was something that he needed and didn't have, but he rigged it up so it would work, and there was no massive upcharge. They are highly professional and thorough in what they do, but they are also friendly and chat with you so you're comfortable. They are on time, and the work is done as quickly as appropriate.

I have used Mack Morris before (a couple years) and I had a service contract with them for $169 a year, but the day before the service person was to show up I was informed by phone that the annual service contract had gone up $30 to $199. This was an increase of 18%. True they hadn't raised the price of the contract in 5 years, but his represents an increase of 3.6% per year which is about double the rate of inflation. I was annoyed that they didn't tell me this until less than 24 hours before the tech was to show up. I thought this was unfair and I should have been informed earlier. As a result I cancelled the contract and the appointment and will shop around for someone else. It would cost me $139 to have them come out once a year to service our heat pump compared to $199 to come out twice a year which I decided was not a good use of money. If I do use Mack Morris again it might be once a year. The service contract does have certain benefits such as no charge for overtime and weekend, evening service, but our heat pump isn't very old. It the long run it will probably be less expensive to not have the service contract.

I guess my last experience with the heating and AC services was good and for HVAC I used Mack Morris Heating & Air. Everything has been working pretty well since they came out. It took them about 4 hours I think or maybe 5 to complete the job. I would use this provider again in the future.
