Description of Work: We have an extended service contract with Mack Morris to inspect and maintain our heat pump twice a year. Price is competitive, especially with the annual service contract which is $219 a year for 3 visits the first year and $169 for 2 visits each year following the first years. This includes no extra charge for overtime, weekends and evenings, and 15% discount on parts and labor perhaps somewhat better than competition. Though there is some variability in the quality of technicians performing service (as it is with most companies) all service has been very good and we have been completely satisfied. I have been told that the technicians have 2 hours allotted to provide service including transportation for each job. In one case the technician, spent roughly 45 minutes, perhaps up to an hour inspecting and maintaining the system, whereas another spent 1.5 to 2 times that long, but was more thorough, for example, using their vacuum to remove the leaves from the inside of the heat pump. Though somewhat initially reluctant to consider a service contract, when I discovered that the heat pump had not been functioning well during 3 months during the winter of 2010 (?) I decided it was worth the twice annual maintenance to be proactive.

Description of Work: I called to ask about my heating and the person I spoke to was so nice and so helpful. She told me what was normal and what wasn't normal and what I could expect in this cold weather. She was extremely knowledgable and helpful and because of this, I feel that our heat is working the way it should be and so I didn't need to use their services at this time. I will definitely use them in the future with confidence!

+ -1 moreThere was a rebate involved through the state and through the federal government. The job went very well. I did my homework through people here in the county and got the information that I needed. Mack Morris was listed highly by everybody that I talked to and I did an extensive study as well. He is a contractor who is here in the county that I live in. I got bids from seven different companies and he came out with the best bid, which I was happy with. I had no problems with it. I saved considerable amount of money with the new units that I put in because the other one was 11 years old. Everything is working fine. In fact, the guy just came yesterday and did the work on it for the air conditioning season. I am going to sign a contract for the next 10 years with them to do the servicing on it.
Description of Work: Mack Morris Heating & Air Conditioning installed a new HVAC unit for us about two to three months ago.

+ -1 moreThis is really a two tailed story, the local is Mack Morris, and the greater issue is with the YORK products. The 2 York units were purchased approx. 3 years ago as energy efficient replacements for 10 year old R 22 units. First year was great, but since then units have developed problems in cold weather which have lead to dramatic energy bills. I have had a service contract with Mack Morris for 5 years and have generally been very happy with their techs and service with one exception when the tech made comments about the units. I spoke with Mack face to face within a 1/2 hour and another tech was at my house within 2 days to go over the units again. Mack has always been prompt, I can set my watch by his people arriving on schedule. I have noticed over the last year that some confusion exists when I speak with the office as several people have apparently moved into new positions. As far as the service contract, I have met Kay who is now in charge of that operation and she has updated the file with my preference for time frames for PM on the units, and she has assigned a tech who has worked on the units in the past to ensure continuity. Mack Morris is currently pulled back from installation of YORK products but is honoring the 10 year Parts & Labor agreement that came with the units. The most recent work involved installing updated circuit boards which apparently have been identified as a problem and enabling my thermostats to display trouble codes. The slight downgrade to marks for quality and responsiveness really reflect more toward the product rather then the installation
