"Thank you, [Member Name Removed]! We are happy to be of service to you, and we look forward to working with you in the spring!"
However there was an issue that occurred during installation. The vent installers damaged my gutter with their ladders. (To the point where it could not be repaired.) They sent someone out to see if it could be repaired, but you could see it had to be replaced. Also the gutter's downspout extensions were put on backwards. (Meaning the extension pipe was put inside the existing downspout elbow, instead of over it. So water was leaking at the point of the new connection when exiting the downspout.)
HOWEVER, and in my mind this is what's important, they came RIGHT AWAY and replaced the damaged gutter and downspouts. No questions asked. I didn't have to chase them down. Yes, the job(s) should have been done right the first time, but they corrected these issues. Everyone that I had dealt with there was fantastic. I have no unresolved complaints, and would absolutely use them again and recommend them to others.
"Thank you for your kind words, ]Member Name Removed]! You were a pleasure to have as a customer. We are glad that we were able to both meet your needs and exceed your expectations. Please keep us in mind for any home renovation projects you may wish to complete in the future."
We were told we would have to wait another 4 days (following the visit) just to get our estimate.... this brought the turn-around with All-In-One to almost 3 weeks without even knowing their price!...we became skeptical.
On the day of the "estimate reveal," one of our family members was taken ill and arrangements had to be made for her health care. I called the All-In-One office prior to the appointed meeting time and asked that she simply send us the estimate, but could it be sent to us via an email with pdf file or, a telephone conversation with one of their reps....again, we just wanted to speed the process so we could make a decision without delay and schedule the work. Seems reasonable, right?
The scheduler called us back and said it would not be possible. The rep called us and told us the same thing. We explained we have owned multiple homes and fully understand material selection, workmanship --- all we wanted was a price! The owner Jeremiah finally called at the end of that day and said we would have to reschedule a face-to-face to obtain the price...again, meeting THEIR rules and schedule. We were fed up!
I hopped on Angie's list and saw that others experienced the same All-In-One pressure and guilt tactics like, "You don't want 'Chuck on a Truck' to do you roof, do you?" He was implying that many of the long-standing, reputable providers in Roanoke are not worth the shingles they install...of course this isn't true.
We cannot and will not endorse All-In-One. Consider taking your business elsewhere.
"We at All-In-One are dedicated to 100% Customer Satisfaction. Industry studies and even our own experiences have shown that consumers who focus only on price and don’t take time to meet with their contractor “face to face” to go through the proposal have a significantly higher chance of being unsatisfied with their project. Our only motive in presenting our price in person is to go through exactly what we have proposed and explain what is included by actually presenting the materials and specs we will be using. We do things differently than most of our competitors. Reading something on a proposal versus seeing the components in person are two different experiences. We have found that using this approach with our customers has yielded a very high satisfaction rate. This all comes down to taking the time to meet and go through the proposal and materials. We deeply regret that you had a bad experience with our company and we would have loved to have the chance to meet with you to go review our proposal and pricing. Since you did not get this opportunity, you really don’t know what we are about or how we do things. IF you did have the opportunity to meet with us, you may have changed your review of recommending people to stay away from our company. We do strive for 100% Customer Satisfaction and take pride in providing the highest level of customer service for our clients: we earned Silver in The Roanoker Magazine's "Best Roofing Company 2014" category, we earned the Angie's List Super Service award the past two years, and in 2014 we were nominated for Small Business of the Year by the Roanoke Chamber of Commerce. Just like any compan,y we do not get every job bid on; but to any consumer reading this review, please don’t base your opinion to give us a call on this limited interaction with our company. We have a great publication we can get you called “How to Make A Successful Construction Investment” that we recommend any consumer making a contracting purchase read. It was put together by an independent contractor training organization (Certified Contractors Network) and has great third party information. It points out the importance of spending time with the contractor and asking other questions besides just the price. Although it is regrettable that we cannot assist you with this project, we are eager to prove ourselves to you with any future exterior remodeling projects you may have."
"Thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately it seems like there may have been a bit of a miscommunication between yourself and the estimator in terms of "up-selling". When replacing a roof, it is crucial to evaluate attic ventilation. In your case, attic ventilation was a concern. We suggested that you include adding ventilated soffits and ridge vents when replacing your roof to ensure proper ventilation. When an attic isn't properly ventilated, the shingles and decking can deteriorate prematurely due to heat and moisture buildup. Additionally, when an attic isn't properly ventilated, shingle manufacturer's warranties can become null-in-void. All-In-One Home Solutions takes great pride in knowing that our crew follows manufacturer's guidelines and that no corners have been cut during roof installation. It is of paramount importance to both All-In-One Home Solutions and our customers that the roofs we install are granted a warranty. We deeply regret that you felt as if you were being pushed into signing the proposal; that was most certainly not our intention. The law says that any contract signed away from the place of business requires a Three Day Cancellation Disclosure which protects the consumer from high-pressure sales tactics. After being presented with a proposal, it is not uncommon for the consumer to want to think it over -- which is certainly understandable. The cost of a return call is actually factored in to the initial proposal that we provide; however, if the consumer decides to accept the proposal that day, the cost of the return call is actually deducted from the proposal without any sacrifice in quality or profitability - thus the 10% savings. It seems that there may have been a bit of miscommunication in this regard. We regret that we did not gain you as a customer but we would be more than happy to provide you with any assistance in the future!"
Crews showed up on time. The front steps look great, although the team did not completely fill in a large crack at the bottom of the steps as agreed upon because they ran out of material, then simply left to do another job. (This is why I downgraded on quality). When I called All-in-One, they returned later and finished the job. Unfortunately, the filling has already cracked in several places, though the steps themselves look fine. There were a number of miscommunications the day the fascia was supposed to be completed. I acknowledge one issue (concerning paint) was my error, but it wouldn't have mattered since the crew ran out of fascia material and disappeared. I had to call the office again, and the work was eventually completed two days later.
One thing that concerned me was that I never saw a supervisor show up to check the progress of the work, though it is possible I missed him. I get the sense that this company is trying to cover lots of bases and types of work but is stretched a bit thin on management. Nonetheless, the office staff and Jeremiah, the owner, are very friendly and pleasant. Jeremiah was extremely conscientious about addressing the issues I had, and came to the house on both occasions to resolve the problems.
I found their prices competitive and reasonable. I am not sure I would hire them again, because I feel I'd be better off in the future with a specialist than with a general contractor. But I do appreciate the work ethic of Jeremiah and his office staff.
"Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback. Your project happened to fall in a three-week period of time where we were transitioning from our previous Project Manager to a newly-hired Project Manager. You’re absolutely right – during this transitional period, we were forced to spread ourselves a little thin in order to maintain daily operating procedures. Had our new Project Manager been out of training at the time that we were working on your project, these hiccups would have likely been avoided. Our current Project Manager continues to demonstrate his value in our company and we could not be happier with what he brings to our team. We deeply regret, however, that you had the misfortune of not ever being able to work with him. Rest assured, everyone at All-In-One Home Solutions read this review that you were kind enough to provide for us and we absolutely acknowledge the legitimacy of your critiques. While training our new Project Manager, we went through great pains to ensure that the miscommunications and hiccups that occurred during your project will not happen with future projects. At the end of the day, we’re happy that we were able to right any wrongs for you and that you are indeed pleased with the end result. We look forward to the opportunity to prove ourselves to you in the future should you choose to contact us for any future exterior remodeling projects you may have."
