After researching your move, the original Allied driver scheduled to haul your items was in a severe car accident right before your move dates and broke his arm. As this unforeseen event occurred so close to your move dates, Allied was unable to secure another driver in such a short amount of time. This is the reason that your items were not loaded onto the same truck as the one that delivered to you. In looking through our files i do see where we spoke to you about this and you were aware prior to loading. Unfortunately, this was completely out of our hands and we did everything possible to make your move go well. Despite this unforeseen event, Dunmar and Allied were still able to get your items loaded out of your home on time and delivery occurred during your original delivery spread. Additionally, we apologize for the items that were damaged in transit but are glad that we could repair/replace your suitcase. We do cover items that are packed by the owner (PBO) but only when they are packed properly into cartons, this is listed on your signed Customer Agreement. We will certainly pass on your comments regarding the driver to his Operations team so that they can use this as a coaching opportunity. "We regret the experience that [Member Name Removed] and his wife [Member Name Removed] had with Dunmar, As [Member Name Removed] mentioned this a very busy time for moving but feel we need to share some additional facts about this situation. In terms of Valuation “Insurance” it is a Federal Government mandate that we advise all customers of their options, ultimately it is the customer’s choice of what option they choose. In terms of the dates the customer was provided a written estimate on June 25th when we completed the in home estimate however the customer did not sign the initial agreement until after 5:00pm on July 2. Dunmar was closed on July 3rd in observation of July 4th and was unable to register the shipment with Allied Van Lines. Upon our return on Monday we communicated to the customer that Allied Van Lines had closed the original dates offered to the customer and offered alternative dates for loading and packing. The customer agreed to those terms but did express their displeasure with the sudden change. Upper management was made aware and did call and leave a message for the customer to elaborate on the reason why the dates had to change and to try to resolve the issue but our call was not returned. The customer eventually requested to cancel their move on 7/9 and we confirmed the cancellation. Once again we regret the experience the customer had and wish them the best of luck on the upcoming move."
