Kiln's require special handling, and they treated it like it was their own. I was impressed with the care that they gave. I live on a very steep hill, so it wasn't easy, but they still did a great job.

Everyone we dealt with at Dunmar were great to work with and did an excellent job.  Moving a household to another state is a daunting experience and everyone at Dunmar did their best to put us as ease.  Everything arrived intact and undamaged.  The men doing the move were professional and considerate of our needs and accomplished their task in relatively good time.  We felt Dumar's price for moving the household and car were great - I'd use them and recommend them again.  Donna our sales person and Amy the move coordinator were the best.

The move did not go as well as I anticipated (I previously had a company and pack and move us from NJ to VA without any damaged items, so that was my baseline.) I would not recommend Dunmar to my friends or family.  The guys that moved us were good guys - courteous, kind, etc., and they showed up on time. But, in my opinion, they were not as quick as my previous company and not well-equipped to do the job, e.g. they did not have an appliance dolly, appliance straps, or inexpensive sliders to move heavy furniture across a carpeted floor.  This made the job a lot harder for them, had me in fear that my furniture/house would be damaged, and made the job take longer than quoted.  They also made some poor decisions in moving/packing some of the pieces. This resulted in the denting and scratching of my stainless steel refrigerator doors, a broken leg on a bookshelf that cannot be replaced, a few other smaller items being broken, various dings around the house (they knocked into the chandelier going up the steps with large furniture pieces a couple of times), and, as mentioned, increased time to complete the job.  The job took 2x as long as what was quoted, which can be a shocker depending upon what you budget for your move.  We submitted a claim for the damage, which went fairly smoothly.  However, the money we got back is not enough to repair/replace everything (we had a $500 deductible, which brings the actual total cost to move and fix things to $2300, and we were quoted $00-$1000for this move.) This was the first time I bought a deal from Angie?s List, and blindly at that! I was committed to Dunmar before getting a quote or really investigating the company beyond Angie's list - which I would not do again.  As a result of this experience, I?m now more skeptical of companies on this list, and not sure you really get the value that is touted (for every kind of deal).

The damages claimed were inspected by a 3rd party professional source and who determined they were related to transit damage. Dunmar settled the claim with Ms. [member name removed] based on the Full Value Coverage Plan she selected. A check for the claim was mailed to Ms. [member name removed] within 45 days of the completion of her move. Once again we regret receiving notice that Ms. [member name removed]’s shipment was not handled to her total satisfaction"

As stressful as moving is they were very good and quick. They have a minimum of 4 hours and it took 2 hours They got
lost coming to the property, but then they rang and my husband directed them. They made up time though because they started at 9:30 and were done at 11:30. Very professional all 3 guys worked good together. No problems with nothing. I would use again and also recommend. The only thing I would say is because we didn't have that much to move the price i thought was a bit steep. I use the $125 deal off of angie's list and it was $419 with the coupon.

Very well.  I packed a lot of my own stuff, but I had them pack the fragile things, as well as the wall hangings (I have good bit of art).  I also have some very old pieces, which the treated very gently - and protected them within an inch of their lives :)  The estimating process went very well - and I chose Dunmar because of the estimator - he was great and worked with me constantly - kept in touch and was flexible even when I made a few changes.  
The guys had some challenges with location in both Virginia and Texas, but handled them well.  I moved from a townhouse with limited parking to an apartment where they had to park on a very busy street and block traffic.  No worries - they didn't skip a beat.  I ended up changing my destination the day the moving truck arrived in Houston, so I needed to delay them for a couple of days.  No problem - he had another job he could do and came the day I was ready.  They also had no issue (and no charge) with the change in location - but it was only a few blocks away from the original location.  It even rained they day they moved me in - but they took care to make sure nothing got damaged.
Everything made it to Texas undamaged - the only thing that broke was a bowl I packed.  I would definitely use these guys again - especially the driver - he was lovely.

Went great! Duane is an awesome crew leader and all 3 guys did a fabulous job.  They arrived on time at 830am, ensured that ALL my floors were covered (at both the old house and new house with new hardwood floors) and ensured all furniture (no matter how big or cumbersome!) was moved to the appropriate room on either floor. I couldn't ask for a better company to move my house.  As a side note, this is the 3rd time I have used their services for my personal residence move.

Do try to arrange things so like things are packed together. Do make sure there is correct description on each box. The packe does not always know more than room name. Do remain available for packing and delivery so things get into the right place. This company was very good, but still needed direction. No bad experience.

Overall, very, very well.  This was a very stressful time as I moved from Virginia to Ohio.  Of course everything was not perfect.  However, Dunmar did what they said they would do, did it for the price that was quoted and 98% of my belongings arrived safe and sound.  If a difficult situation and in today's world - I just don't see how you could ask for more.  I would recommend Dunmar Moving to family and friends.

I hired this team to move my large items 4.5 miles from Foxfire in Chesterfield VA to Brandermill.  There were 2 hrs late. They indicated they would be done by 4pm.  They finished at 1am the next day.  Then they charged my credit card double for the overtime without my authorization.  After 4 weeks of back and forth, I got my money back.

"After reviewing the customer’s file and documentation that includes the customer’s signatures. The crew arrived at 8:30am to start the move (normal start time is between 8:00am and 9am). The job was completed at 11pm. The customer’s credit card was only charged for the authorized amount for which he signed for. The crew did however collect a check at the time of completing the move for the additional time the move took. Upon further discussion with the customer, Dunmar returned his check, as it was never deposited. Dunmar Moving took responsible for the overage of the estimated cost to the move and the customer was only charged $1436.00."

They were very nice.  They did a good job.  The only thing is that their billing department was kind of flaky.  They refunded money to my son and then a couple of months later; they discovered that he owed them more.  They sent him a letter, he received the letter and it said that he should have paid the money two weeks before the letter was even sent to him.  The price was very good.  The punctuality was quite good.

I've been absolutely amazed at Dunmar's service. I first came in contact with them professionally for office moves that I contracted them for, and thru those moves, I learned that Dunmar does residential services. The team that I have worked with both for my business moves and personal residential move has been outstanding. They are extremely professional, curteousy, timely, and go above and beyond. I highly recommend crew leader Duane and his team. When you first schedule the move, the move cooridnator (Sylvia) actually came to my house to work on the estimate. She specifically asked what needed to be moved, taken apart or left in place. (Make sure your VERY specific in what you will move yourself as opposed to them). Since I moved a lot of the little items previous to the move, I just needed the large stuff moved (piano, couches, dresses, etc). Once all rooms are documented, they will present you with an estimate of service. She prints off everything for you at your house and leaves you with her contact info. No high pressure sales! Once you decide on their services, you contact Sylvia and then they work on your move dates. If you have specific times you need to start - MAKE sure to ask. They are very accomodating and will work with YOUR schedule. The mover coordiantor (Sylvia) then made a trip out to my new house to determine what type of truck could be used (box vs trailer). This was a great help as some houses cannot accomodate 18 wheelers! On the day of the move, the crew showed up on time, all dressed in Dunmar shirts and with identification. All crew members worked until the house was loaded on the truck and arrived at the new location. Once all items were moved in, Duane (crew leader) ensured I did a full walkthru to inspect everything. Final charges are done over the phone after they call back to the office to report in the crew's stop time. Any issues need to be addressed at this point for price compensation. Tips must be done separately (cash or check to crew leader). They moved all furniture, boxes, and even took apart my computer desk AND put it back together for me at the destination location. The crew didnt just lump all the furniture and boxes in one location at the new house, but actually placed each item where I requested it. They removed all trash, packing material and any items that I did not want (or wouldn't) fit at the new house.

They were pretty dang terrific, aside from the cost, which was really high. They were on time and gave an accurate estimate. They were very accommodating to what we wanted, especially as far as furniture placement goes. The crews were big enough, and they didn't mess around. You get what you pay for, and I don't resent paying what I paid.

NOTE - we interviewed 3 companies and got quotes. The quotes were very close, but one difference was Dunmar/Allied said their quote including supplying us with boxes - see below 1. Their quote included supplying us with boxes. They did say that they would supply them 'as available' but implied that that boxes were readily available. We were never told (until after the move was done) that the boxes would not be available. Had we known what an enormous hassle it would be, we would happily have paid the 75$ to have new boxes delivered all at once. Instead, we had to repeatedly call, and some boxes were delivered on several occasions, but completely inadequate and no help was offered. (we were on a very fast track = we had to be out 26 days after signing a contract). we ended up going to UHAUL and buying boxes. I have communicated we felt we were misled. 2. The guy who packed the art and lamps did a great job. 3. The moving crew was on time, etc and did a really good job (except for the damage, see below) 4. Our schedule changed after the move-out date for delivery in NC, and they were very responsive and accommodating. the Extra charges for this seemed a little high, but we had no options. 5. Move in was fine, and we were feverishly unpacking so they could remove as many empty boxes as possible. We happily slowed down on unpacking after the crew told us we could just call and a local Allied company would come pick up the empties. 6. Several costly items had significant damage; the crew did not try to hide anything; they made sure we saw everything they were aware of. Not insignificant stuff here. 7. Then the problems began in earnest. when we called to follow up on the boxes, we were told we would have to pay another 150 (est_)to have that done - this is on top of THOUSANDs we have paid. In spite of what the crew said. I asked to speak to the president who never bothered to return my call. No one ever attempted to resolve this. 8. To try to get the damage dealt with, we had to make many, many phone calls and waste many, many hours dealing with two local companies ALLIED (DUNMAR) sent to do estimates. At the end of the day, I was stunned to get a check for $100 - for very significant damage to very costly items. Not to mention hours of my wasted time. I would certainly never use either Dunmar or Allied again; there are many moving companies out there. We had to make so many phone calls and waste so much time dealing with getting boxes, box removal, damage, etc.

"The member left out many facts regarding this shipment. claim was filed and paid, but they had opted for a $500 deductible to reduce premium cost so when a $600 claim was filed they only received $100. We supplied free cartons on more than one occassion but when they were told we didn't have the right quantity in free cartons but we could sell them new materials they declined. They then went and spent $100 on cartons somewhere else. After delivery they called to get the cartons picked up and we advised there would be a pick up fee. They wanted us to do this for free. They spoke to our Move Manager and our General Sales Manager and were politely refused. Our President was out of town when this occurred and since by the time he had returned the claim was settled and the company policy was followed he thought the matter was closed. We have a total of 15 emails between shipper and company, over a 60 day period, substantiating everything I have stated above. We feel that we have lived up to every portion of our agreement and contract with this customer and no further adjustment is deemed appropriate."

They did a very good job. They were only off by $35 on the estimate. There was nothing broken. They were professional, on time and courteous. They didn't take breaks, hussled and got the job done.
