"The original installer that was sent to the jobsite had a family emergency on the 2nd day of the project and had to leave, another crew was sent asap. CTC does not use subcontractors with the exceptions of certified electricians. CTC also does not work sundays unless set up in advance. Typically CTC has different crews that specialize in different aspects of the trade. It is not uncommon for different crews to work on the same job. The work was performed in a timely manner and end result was excellent. The occupant was great to work with. The only hold up was the shower door that was provided by Ms. [Member Name Removed], which the dimensions were given to her at the beginning of the project. We provided her occupant with temporary shower rod and curtain for the couple of weeks it took for the door to arrive. CTC wishes her all the best with her future projects. Richard Gooden"
"[Member Info Removed] contacted my office, needing someone in regards to a shower leaking. At the appt it was explained to [Member Info Removed] the process to repair his shower as economically as possible without complete removal of shower. I told [Member Info Removed] since he had white accent tile on the bath floor we can use white in shower stall floor and if possible find a good match to wall tile. After searching all available resources none was found, only option was to use several rows of white tile around bottom of shower as [Member Info Removed] did not want to do entire shower. Common Sense would prevail with this being a rental property to finish quickly as possible. [Member Info Removed] called and stated that he did not want the white tile upon which I informed him that there wasn't a choice if the existing tile wasn't available, I also told him he was more than welcome to go to a local showroom and select a replacement if he wasn't happy with the white tile. He stated that he did not want to do that. I did not know how to respond. I have never had a situation where my customer did not want to select the tile but got angry because he wasn't happy with the one I selected for his 30-40 yr old rental property. My only concern was to have the shower back in working order for the current occupants as most homeowners would be highly appreciative. As far as drain is concerned we cap off all plumbing before we start any job. I can assure you we do not sweep debris down a drain. I have yet to see pictures and would like to see them. Also, $400.00 would have cleaned all drains in home which I'm sure needed it on a home of that age, That pretty expensive for one shower drain. I would also like to speak to the plumber to see exactly what was found and repaired for $412.94. Chesterfield Tile is a professional and award winning company with 3rd generation employees and will do everything possible to make sure our customers are 100% satisfied. I wish [Member Info Removed] and all future companies that deal with him the best. Thanks, Richard Gooden"
"Chesterfield Tile Co., Inc. 131 Granite Springs Road Richmond, VA 23225 November 26, 2014 Angie’s List To Whom It May Concern: Chesterfield Tile did a bath remodel for [removed member name] in February 2014, invoiced March 6, 2014 in which she promptly paid the bill upon satisfaction of completed project. Chesterfield Tile started and completed project in the agreed time frame between both parties. Mrs. [removed member name]selected all material in advance from local tile distributors; plumbing and hardware fixtures including towel bars and soap dishes were supplied by Mrs. [removed member name]either from online distributors or local home improvement stores. Chesterfield Tile was not asked to make selections, only to pick up material selected and purchased by owner. After 5 months, Mrs. [removed member name]stated that she put on her glasses and noticed cracked and missing marble squares and yellow grout. Chesterfield Tile then sent an employee out to address the situation. Upon inspection the cracks turned out to be veins natural to marble and heavy soap film covering the floor, which is the reason for missing mosaic pieces and yellowish color on grout. Our employee cleaned the floor and advised her on the cleaning products to use in the future. Chesterfield Tile only uses Tec power grout or epoxy’s that do not require sealing and is stain resistant. This does not mean it is maintenance free. Proper maintenance with routine cleaning in accordance with stone specific cleaners will keep her floor bright and new, looking like the day it was installed. Natural stone does require a little more diligence to maintain over ceramic and porcelain, this may have been a poor choice for Mrs. [removed member name]. Chesterfield Tile stands behind our workmanship 100%. If Mrs. [removed member name]has any issues in the future within our scope of work, Chesterfield Tile will be there to assist her. If Mrs. [removed member name]would like to make another selection for her shower floor we will help her out with labor cost. Sincerely, Rick Gooden Chesterfield Tile Co., Inc."
