Bartlett Tree Experts has been providing scientific tree care since 1907. A 3rd generation, family owned business, our mission is the maintenance and care of the health and beauty of trees and shrubs. We are an international organization, with offices in Canada, England and Ireland. Our Research Laboratories advises us about the latest technological advances in arboriculture and assists our arborists with training updates. Bartlett Tree Experts were contacted for me by my insurance company after a tree fell on my house during a storm. They were able to come out within a day or so (I didn't have any major damage). Every person I dealt with was incredibly polite, professional and just plain nice. They did an amazing job with the cleanup and recommended that I have another tree taken down at the same time since it was dead and they were already on scene.
I don't know what the price was because it was all taken care of through my insurance company.

Bartlett Tree Service sent a certified arborist to my home to assess my situation and provide a quote. Their arborist, Greg Crews was punctual, professional and gave me a detailed tutorial on the health of a tree we were trying to save, how to best protect the tree when we paved over some of the tree roots and gave a very competitive bid to treat a diseased portion of the tree. While I did not end up contracting Bartlett to do the work, I was very impressed with the their service and I would not hesitate to use them in the future.

Called a day early and stated they were available to come and perform work. Were at the house most of day and did a great job. Cleaned up after the job was completed. They were responsive to our calls and questions-professional, knowledgeable and courteous.

Ethan Crockett came out and spent over an hour with me going over all the work I wanted to have done. There were several old, big trees to be taken down and some large pines that needed to be cut back. There were several smaller trees to be removed and ivy growing up several trees that needed to be taken out so the trees wouldn't die. That was the last I heard from him or Bartlett Tree. I have called twice and still have not heard from then regarding an estimate. Maybe the job was too big for them.

Over the years we have used Bartlett and they have always provided exceptional services. The last job that they did was to remove an enormous white oak that that was increasingly leaning over the house as the years progressed. Heavy equipment could not be positioned properly so they tree was brought down in small sections. Since the work was done over and around the house, an error could have caused structural damage.
They have also provided disease-control services mainly in the area of bag worm control.

Bartlett came out to meet with us and provide a quote for the work. Since we were leaving for vacation, they performed the work in our absence, but apparently sent someone else who had not been to our house before. The results of the pruning were not at all what we had discussed: the top of the tree had been completely chopped off, there were many ragged cuts, and lots of small dead branches were still attached.
While we were disappointed with the work they performed, we've been impressed with how their local office has handled our complaint. Not only did they send someone out quickly to take a look, but also offered us a full refund and multiple sincere apologies. They have agreed to work with us over the next year or so to help our tree recover, including additional fertilization and pruning if needed (at no charge).
Due to their solid customer service, we would think about using Bartlett again, as long as the person coming out for the quote is also the one who actually performs the work.

Very happy with Bartlett Tree service from beginning to end of job. The trees we had removed were Hugh old trees that were very close to structures on property. They did great job, we're very professional , showed on time, finished in timely manner and cleaned up everything, they are returning in June & August to spray for beetle protection.

They are good. They have certified arborsits. They are very through and they give you a free written report before you decide if you want the work done. They are professional as well.

They were very friendly and accommodating by checking in with us to make sure it looked like we wanted. They also educated us along with it. I would use them again without a doubt! It is difficult to write this report. Greg arrived at the house as scheduled, on time and spoke with my husband about our trees June 13th. My husband said he was very enthusiastic about his job and very knowledgeable. Greg left saying that he would send use a statement recommending work to be done and a price quote so we could make our decision. My husband was very pleased with the meeting. The problem arouse afterwards. We never received the quote. I emailed Greg on July 29th re-iterating some specific areas and requesting the quote and never received a response.

Person from the company came out at the agreed to time, was very professional, asked questions about the job. Submitted an estimate via e-mail later that day, followed-up with a hardcopy in the mail.
I did not hire the company because their bid was higher than others I received for the same work.

Normally I perform all the pruning on the trees & shrubs in our yard. Because of illness, I was not able to do my early spring pruning this year so I sought commercial pruners. While Bartlett was not cheap, I felt they would do good work. I needed severe pruning this year and they understood exactly what I was looking for and I had confidence in their ability to do the job to my satisfaction. I was not disappointed. In fact, I was very satisfied - they came on time, performed the work promptly and safely, and cleaned up. This was a residential job, but I felt they treated me with the same care and respect they would a more lucrative commercial job.

They gave me a work date and called before coming. They were very prompt. Sam and Bradford were the two tree experts that did all the work. They were polite, friendly and very professional. They were hard workers and worked perfectly together as a team. They asked me specifically which branches I wanted trimmed and did exactly what I asked them to do. They worked quickly and consistently. They cleaned up the yard before they left. In fact, the yard looked better after they left than when they arrived.

They were not cheap but they did a very god job. They are very competent, they really know trees, and they prefer to save a tree over cutting it down. They are very good people and I would absolutely use them again.

Estimator and office did a good job of follow up. The crew only did half of the job and then came back over a week later to finish up. I am not sure if they intended to do this or if they did a poor job and had to be asked to re-do it.

Team arrived on time, climbed like squirrels, worked fast, and cleaned up the site nicely. NEw spring limb growth now covers all cut branches, trees look much healthier.

Their process is slow and laborious & not very responsive. The original estimate did not set a price for each tree, so I only had the pest treatment done, having decided that the $600+ estimate for the tree work was more than I wanted to spend. From the time that I faxed the signed contract to the date the work was performed was about a month. I did not have to be there, but then they never told me when they would come out. Also, the original contract promised to have that work done by a certain date, which was already past by the date of the preparation of the contract. I assume the work was done because they left a card on the day they came out, but I wasn't there, and I can't tell by looking whether the treatment has made a difference. I then left a message for Mr. Poad requesting a new estimate for less work; it was several days before we actually spoke. Then the estimate he mailed me specified the wrong tree on his diagram. I corrected this on the signed contract, and faxed it on Oct. 1. As of Oct. 23, I am still waiting for this work to be done. They do not update you in any way, nor even acknowledge they received the fax. I called today to ask when the work would be done, but Mr. Poad is out, and he's the only one who knows if it has been scheduled. So I believe these guys are knowledgeable, but I find their contract process annoyingly slow & unresponsive.

Initially called contractor to trim a dying tree and obtain advice for saving it. Contractor advised that tree was not salvageable and needed to be removed. Contractor needed to remove a portion of fencing to access yard. All work was on time and turn key. Contractor arranged for all subs on the job for the fencing and stump removal. Contractor even brought in new topsoil. Tree was removed safely.

An ISA certified arborist came out to look at our two trees. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant and gave us recommendations on how to maintain those trees in a safe manner. He was not aggressive or pushy, which I much appreciated. Not too much later, he e-mailed me his quote. I do everything by e-mail, so this was great. The crew that he brought out was incredible. One man climbed the red oak (without putting spikes in the tree!) and connected the two main trunks with a cable. The other climbed the beech with a chainsaw dangling off his side, higher and higher up into the tree. He managed to turn on the chainsaw while in the top of the tree with only one pull! He very systematically started cutting all the dead wood out of that tree. Although they brought a chipper, I had requested to keep some of the bigger branches for some landscaping, and they even trimmed those for me! They left my yard without leaving a trace. PS: They are very safety conscious.
