I would strongly recommend AW Masonry to anyone with a large concrete job. Alan (proprietor) showed close attention to detail. Coordinated smoothly with gravel and concrete deliveries. He and his team produced an excellent surfaced foundation. Very happy.

Alan poured a sidewalk a bit more than a year ago. I submitted a good review after the work was completed. However, the sidewalk began to crack just a year after completion. Alan did not return my several calls made over a period of a week. When I did reach him, he asked me to text him my address. A week after that I still had not heard from him. When I finally reached him, he told me he did not have the time to come by my house to look at what he considered an "insignificant" issue. I do not consider a $2000 + sidewalk cracking after just a year to be "insignificant." I have learned from another contractor that a repair needs to be made before moisture negatively affects the integrity of the sidewalk before a freezing winter. I do not recommend using a mason who does not care to follow up after the work is completed.

Alan's crew laid a sidewalk for me in May 2018. I posted a very good review then, as I was very pleased with the work. However, there are some problems with the sidewalk now. After only a year, one of the control joints has cracked all the way accross and to the ground. In talking with Alan, he tells me this is normal. I do not think he understands what I was describing, as I have since learned it is not normal, and even the 20 year old sidewalks in my neighborhood have control joints that are not cracked. My issue is that he does not return my calls. It took three days to get an answer in person, after leaving several messages. He said it would come by and look at the sidewalk - that was a week ago. I have since left three more messages and he has not returned my call or text message. I do know he lost the employee who did such a good job a year ago. I recommended Alan to a friend who was not satisfied with the work, which was clearly not up to the standards of mine. This was after he lost the worker who did such a good job for me. I notice there has not been a review posted since then. I would not recommend Alan based on his unprofessionalism to even respond to an inquiry about a problem.

They arrived on time and did excellent work.

It did not. I never got a written quote and even though the verbal quote was good I didn't feel I could really on them to actually get there. They must really be busy.

I hired Alan to replace a badly deteriorated garage floor and to install a parking pad next to the garage off an alley. When he came to the site to give the estimate he also pointed out some failed mortar joints and significant stair-step cracking along the rear wall. In all, he and his crew repaired multiple sections of old mortar and replaced a rusty lintel; removed the old concrete garage floor; prepared the garage and exterior parking pad, removing dirt and a tree; formed up the new 18x18 garage floor and 20x20 parking pad, with a 4' apron; and poured the new concrete with appropriate finishes. I am absolutely thrilled with the finished product. Alan and his crew were a delight to work with. He clearly communicated changes in plans to work around weather and set expectations on scheduling and how long it would be before the concrete would be ready to be parked on. The site was left clean and neat at the end of each day, and the substantial, unavoidable disruption of the alley was repaired at the end of each day to make it presentable and drivable. No damage was done to my property or neighboring properties. I expected the initial estimate to be significantly higher, yet Alan committed to it, and the only small changes were due to additional work I requested while they were there. I could not be happier with how this project came together, and Alan was a delight to work with. I have several other smaller projects planned over the next few years and hope I'll be able to use him for those, as well!

I had very prompt response to my initial and subsequent queries. After delaying due to excessive storm and hurricane weather, the job was done neatly, professionally and expertly. He matched the bricks and now the steps are not just repaired, but my railing is more secure than it ever has been!

Very nice work. Great job for a fair price. I would hire again. They came when they said they would. I really appreciate that. I felt Alan was honest with me.

Alan and his team did great work to fix my walkway that had sunk due to a poor installation by the subcontractor who built my home 6 years ago. I had another company attempt to repair by injecting a foam material under the slab to lift it back into place. Much to my disappointment, that company charged a lot of money to inject the foam and it didn't raise the slab back up! Alan removed the sunken concrete and foam material, laid a solid foundation and poured a new slab for the walkway. He had a concrete truck bring in high quality concrete (no bags of concrete mix) and finished with a broom finish. He also put caution tape across the walkway. My only regret is not contacting Alan and his team first so I could have avoided paying money for the foam and went straight to the final solution. I will use AW Masonry & Restoration again for any other projects I have around my home.

After two poor contractors in a row we were skeptical of anyone but decided to take a chance on Alan based on the many excellent reviews. We are very happy to say the reviews were right on target! What a nice guy and very attentive to the details of his chosen work. My sister's in-laws are/were in the concrete business, so she knows a thing or two about concrete, said "he's good!" when I told her of the work they were doing. We have gotten numerous compliments on our new driveway. Would definitely hire again and would definitely recommend!

Extremely professional owner and crew. Excellent quality of work. Did what they were supposed to when they were supposed to. Surprized there was no extraneous damage to my grass. Very detail oriented. Cleaned everything up well. Finished products were beyond my expectations. Friendly, responsive workers. Recommended some "tweaks" that worked out great!

Fantastic job. Removed it completely, without damaging parking space, and cleaned up perfectly.

Alan was professional, courteous and prompt throughout the process and he answered all our questions. Not only did he deliver on a quality result, but he worked in a manner that kept the area so clean that our neighbors even commented on how little he disrupted the area. Plus, it looks great!

Team did a nice job - there were complications that were discovered when they were doing the work that required a different contractor to fix, and they worked around that interruption without issue.

The guy is incredible. The work is impeccable and he's a perfectionist. He charges a fair price too.

The work was done with a high level of craftsmanship and the price was very competitive and reasonable. The owner is a very personable individual that was quick to response to my initial email to setup a time for a quote. We needed to get the steps and the sidewalk installed prior to Christmas; as we have a handicap family member coming and it was difficult for her to get into the house. Although they were very busy, Alan managed to work our project in over an extended weekend and in between their other preexisting projects. I would highly recommend A.W. Masonry & Restoration to anyone, and I would use them again.

Great! A.W. Masonry lifted the heating unit, broke up the old sidewalk, put in a few inches of gravel and poured the new sidewalk.
