I served 22 years in the military. As a result, my family and I had our share of local, domestic, and overseas moves. We truly understand the anxiety, coupled with the stress, associated to moving: are the movers professional, meticulous, and experienced; will they treat your property and valuables with commensurate care as if they own them. I wanted to share my experience with Fortis Moving Company. I went on Angie's List then decided to call Fortis and spoke with Tracie. Almost immediately, I felt Tracie had my best interest. She was very accommodating, well-spoken, and kept in touch. When the day of our move finally came, I have to say it was a very pleasant experience. They were superbly professional, knowledgeable, and demonstrated noteworthy customer-service! From beginning to end, our expectations were exceeded! I highly recommend Fortis Moving Company!

I had a great experience with Fortis for a local move from a house to an apartment. First of all, the cost was meaningfully below other quotes I got from 3 more top-rated local movers. The movers were on time and gave me a 40-minute heads up via phone before the arrival. They wrapped, loaded, and then unloaded content of a 3-bedroom house in about 4.5 hours. The original estimate was very accurate at 5 hours. Nothing was damaged in the process in a noticeable way. The 3-person crew led by Erik was very friendly and helpful. We ended up asking them to move a few pieces at the end into different rooms and they did it without any complaints. Highly recommended

Good company . Smooth move

I needed help unloading items from a moving truck into my apartment on a Sunday morning. They were on time and FAST! I booked them for 3 hours. They were finished unloading in a little over an hour! They didn’t leave because they finished quickly. They asked what else I needed done since I had them for longer. They put together my dog’s furniture crate and 2 bar stools. I will definitely use this company again.

The overall experience to setting up the move to finish was excellent. Tracie coordinated by doing a video inventory and suggesting how many workers and trucks we need. Two days before the move she checked in to make sure we are ready and let me know the owner suggested adding one extra person to the crew (good suggestion as it saved time and money). The crew arrived on time, conducted a walk thru and discussed what we should expect. They took things apart and reassembled them at the new house and were very careful to not scratch or damage floors and walls, etc. At the new house, the crew even made great suggestions on placement of furniture in certain rooms. The move took less time than we thought it would and saved us money. I would definitely recommend Fortis to anyone who wants an honest and professional team!

The office management was super responsive, professional and excellent. The owner is knowledgeable and his estimates for moving, materials and storage were reliable. The workers were efficient, polite and hard working. They did a very good job on a complicated move for a fair price. We would hire them again.

The crew that helped us move was on time. They were efficient and finished packing all the items in less time than expected. All items were packed very carefully, with no damage until delivery. They did not waste time during the process and charged appropriately for the service. Great team and we would hire them again in a heartbeat.

I had a positive experience with Fortis Moving Company based in Reston, VA. I hired them to help me load my moving truck for a one-way, long-distance move. The two guys, Berka and Levon (sp?) were great and very professional. They were in communication with me the day of my move to inform me when they would arrive and hit the ground running as soon as they did. Most importantly, they were careful with my belongings and worked hard to get the job done within the time frame we agreed upon prior to my move. If youâ  re looking for a professional and reliable mover in the DMV, I would highly recommend Fortis.

They were able to get on a military base! Not a lot of movers can. They worked me every step of the way, this is especially helpful as a military spouse. Overall, highly recommend!

Efficient, careful work moving a large, delicate China cabinet and dining room table set. They were able to work us in on a Sunday evening when most movers weren't willing to. Very competitive price too! Highly recommend.

Erik and his colleague at Fortis Moving were extremely efficient, friendly, and accommodating. All of my furniture arrived undamaged. I even had a rickety bookshelf that they improved by adding supports to make it more stable.
