I received a flyer in the mail from The Aeration Corps in mid-late September 2013. The dry summer and the clay soil of Loudoun County had left my yard looking rather sad. Due to the federal government furlough, I was home on Friday, 4 October, doing yard work, and wondering what to do about the grass. I remembered the flyer and rummaged through the pile of mail. I called around 4pm, expecting perhaps to schedule service in the next couple of weeks, if I were lucky. As luck would have it, the team was in my section of Loudoun County that day and able to come to my house within the hour.
A crew of three arrived within the hour, as promised. I explained to the crew leader what I wanted done, and that I especially wanted them to focus on the VDOT easement between the sidewalk and street, but that the whole yard desperately needed a thorough aeration.
The three guys worked steadily for an hour. They clearly knew what they were doing and, most especially, they had the right equipment.
It is now mid-November and the yard and easement look much less distressed. The grass seed sown by the crew came up within a week and is thriving. I will use Aeration Corps again.

"Wham Bam Thank You Ma'am" is how I would descibe Aeration corps overseeding and aeration. The core aeration on my yard is sporadic at best. There are areas where the yard looks torn up and there are parts of the lawn that were not touched. The overseeding was sporadic as well with some empty patches of my lawn that did not have seeding or aeration. This ten minutes worth of work was 150 dollars. The arrived on time, but worked as quickly as they could to get done. There were 3 guys working about ten minutes. They hesitated to even take my job because they dont usually do townhouses. I would not recommend Aeration Corps for price/aeration/ or overseeding. They have a great website, but other than that I was not impressed.
