NOVA Spray Foam provided a very detailed estimate.  They sprayed  under our house in the crawl space. They were prompt and courteous and did a great clean up job.

First step for us required removal of old fiberglass, which is very messy. Contractor covered and protected the space fairly well.
The actual spray foam process went very smoothly. They provided fans that ran all night, but be prepared for some fumes that will last a couple of days, even with thorough venting. It is just part of the deal with foam.
The spray foam insulation is far superior to fiberglass and solved some trouble spots we had that needed much better sealing.
The contractor was very flexible in accommodating what we were trying to accomplish.
Recommendations:
Remove stuff from the attic. Some foam pieces will fly around.
Provide the contractor with a clear path into and out of spaces, especially your attic. Be prepared for fiberglass dust.
Cover anything near the path fiberglass will be carried out near. Cover and seal as much as you can.
Be prepared to clean fiberglass dust up after.

I  met Kenneth Thacker at a Home Show.  I called him up and he came out quickly to give me an estimate for my new construction.  I had already gotten 2 other estimates and NOVA Insulation was the best value.  Kenny educated me on the benefits of foaming and explained everything that would happen step by step.  I moved in my new home recently, and am very happy with how "tight" the house is.  The house is very cool, even with the recent heat wave.  I had to go up in the attic and was surprised how cool it was up there, too.  Nova insulation did an outstanding job from start to finish.  I have not regretted my decision to spend a little more for spray foaming over the conventional fiberglass insulation.  I'm glad I picked the right company.

I first had mold remediation and pest control done (by another contractor) to make sure the foam won't cover up something that will fester. My issue was slight mold due to improper grading and bad gutters (also fixed by someone else). The insulation was terribly deteriorated fiberglass and I figured replacing it with more fiberglass would eventually yield the same in this humid climate. I had seen the spray foam in home improvement shows so that seemed like the way to go.
NOVA spray foam was able to do this within a week of me contacting them. They were always responsive to all my questions. They began the process around 8 or 9 in the morning and were finished before noon. They told me to go to the second floor and keep the windows closed. There is minimal off-gassing and it dissipates quickly, but it adds up depending on the square footage. They used a ventilation exhaust system to make sure the crawlspace air was circulated. After they left I opened the windows and did not smell anything.
As a result - and this is subjective - I feel that the humidity level in the house is much lower since there is nothing coming up from the crawl space anymore. The very slight moldy odor I sometimes smelled downstairs is also completely gone. I have a wooden floor and it feels a bit more solid and quieter.
All in all I feel that the cost was worth it and I have peace of mind that I will have no more crawl space issues. The application took care of the moisture barrier, too, since they covered the vents.
As an allergy sufferer I don't trust fiberglass and if I have to deal with insulation again in any part of the house I will choose this every time. NOVA has been great and they absolutely know what they are doing. I would use them again any time.

They've apologized profusely for missing the original appointment, and have been pleasant to work with.

We hired NOVA Insulation to help insulate the crawl space between the ground and floor of our first floor row house (i.e. we don?t have a basement).  Understandably, due to an emergency, the representative had missed our initial appointment ? but
contacted us later to reschedule and aplogized profusely.  From that point on, they were eager to help us address the insulation problems we had, and they were pleasant to work with.  The first level, and especially the floors, prior to the service, were noticeably colder than the rest of the house. In fact, the house was not only freezing, but the heating bill was shocking.

Despite our crawl space under our house being very difficult to access, Nova insulation went above and beyond to find a solution and get access to the space.  These guys clearly have to work in difficult conditions, given that they were crawling around in very little space to complete the project.

Upon initally inspecting under the house, they noted that there was a considerable breeze from the back to the front of the house ? and much of the old insulation was falling down.

Within days of the initial inspection, they set up an appointment to come out to do the work, which included removing the old insulation and spraying 4 inches of foam onto the subfloor. From what we can tell so far, it has made a difference and our house
retains heat much better ? of course the weather warmed up just as we had the work done so it is hard to say how much warmer the house is ? but we are optimistic.  The representative we worked with, Shawn, was very professional, prompt, and clearly knowledgeable and experienced with regards to their work and the process.  It was obvious that the company endeavors to
maintain a positive and professional reputation, and that they value that reputation, which we respect.

Discovered this company at a recent Home Show at the Dulles Expo Center.  We were looking for a company to install insullation and after talking to the rep (Alisa) we were very interested.   Made an appointment with Ken and he didn't show or call.  Made a second appointment with Ken and again he did not show or call.  I called Ken after both missed appointments.  Both times he said he was sorry but was verybusy.  After the second missed appointment Ken asked me to call Alisa and work with her.  I am standing by for a call back. Although the product sounds great and am still interested, I wonder if the front end customer service reflects the business as a whole.

UPDATE:  Ken called, stopped by and will provide a proposal in a day or two.

Update 2:  October 25, 2012:  Decided to go with this company even though we had a rocky start.  Guys are here removing old insulation.  All are polite, professional and working hard.  Ken stopped by to check on the progress.  Plan is to do the spray in tomorrow.  Originally gave an "F" for punctuality but upgraded to "C". Guys showed up today on time and ready to work.

Update 3:  October 26 2012:  Guys again showed up on time and ready to work.  Finished and cleaned up.  Happy with the work they did.  They do leave an exhaust fan in the attic to remove any fumes from the foam as it is being sprayed in.  They will pick up the fan early next week.  Kept punctuality a "C" because I can't get past two missed appointments and no call.  However, overall an "A".

I called for the estimate and they came out a few days later. They did a great job explaining the steps and the costs associated with each step. The following week they came and applied about 5 in of spray foam to the deck of the roof. I had the (cheaper) option of spraying the top of the drywall ceiling but opted against it because if I ever wanted any electrical work done (lighting, venting etc.) they would have to cut through the spay foam to complete the electrical work and re-spray the cut areas.I have a small house but the attic is very low so the job took the better part of the day to complete. They lay tarp in the areas of the house there was foot traffic on their part and taped up the walls throughout. They cleaned up everything afterwards. The most important part however is what happened to our house with this insulation. Before the treatment we used to feel the extremes in temperature in both summer and winter. Now half way through the summer I definitely feel the difference. The house is cooler and the AC is working far less to keep us comfortable. The attic is a steady 60-70 degrees where as in years prior it shot up past 100.I cannot say enough about the effectiveness of this type of insulation. I used to have fiberglass mats which were worthless for shileding attic spaces. Now I can go through the house without feeing I am in a sauna. I used to have the thermostat set to around and sometimes lower to stay cool. I now have it set at 77 and my wife sometimes complains it is too cold! I am loving it.
Superb work,
Thank you.

A Nova Spray rep visited the job site, gave a rough verbal estimate of the cost and stayed close to it. The insulation crew failed to notice a hole in the wall and some of the foam splattered into an adjacent room. When I called attention to the mess that resulted, the crew came back immediately and thoroughly and cheerfully cleaned up. In all, a professional job.

I called Nova Spray Foam 2/16, left a message with Ken. I provided my phone, stated I was interested in getting an estimate and the city where my home is located. The next day, I received a call from Bonnie, who left me another number to call to set up an estimate. I returned Bonnie's call that same day. It's been almost a week now and no return call to me by either Ken or Bonnie to set up an estimate.I can't comment on the quality of the service since I've been unable to get a hold of either Ken or Bonnie, but so far the responsiveness has been lousy and poor. This is not a good indicator of how they perform their work.

I have to say that I am very impressed with how things turned out.  Our house was always very cold come wintertime and the temperature would frequently have trouble staying above 65 degrees with our heat pump running all night.  I have always heard that spray foam was a great way to insulate, but was always turned off by the cost.  I didn't want to put 5-6k into insulation and have little or no results.  I decided to take a leap of faith and contact this company.  Bonnie came out and evaluated the situation and came up with a plan for the best way to tackle the job.  She was prompt and I was given a quote with a day or so.  Appointment was scheduled and job was completed within two weeks.  The crew was great and the prep work was meticulous so that nothing would get dirty.  It was an all day job.

We finally started having some cold nights in the 20's and I set my thermostat to 72 degrees for a test.  When I came down in the morning, I couldn't believe my eyes when the thermostat still read 72.  Later that day, I lowered the thermostat to 70 degrees and when I checked it later in the day it was 71 degrees.  I thought it was broken or something.  My heat pump always had to run nonstop just to try and keep up to 68 degrees.  The comfort level in my home is unbelievable now and I suspect I will start to see some energy savings in the near future.  I couldn't be happier!!  Expect some smell from the foam for a week or so.  It's kind of a plastic smell.  I just opened up the windows and let it air out during the days with a fan.  Bonnie left one of her fans in the attic with a pipe leading outside to help air it out.  Not a real big deal.

This is easily one of the best decisions I have ever made with my home and I would highly recommend!!  Nova Foam is the way to go.  Thanks Bonnie!

My experience with Nova Spray Foam Insulation LLC Company was fine.  They responded quickly to give me a quote on the job.  It was a much better price than what I had expected.  However they didn’t prepare me for how bad it was going to smell afterwards.  I was a little uncomfortable with that.  The smell seems to have disappeared now though.

They were very good.  We actually had a time after we had the insulation put in where I could go up in the attic and see daylight coming through.  I called them up, and they came back out to fill that hole.  They were good as far as coming back and making sure it was air-tight the way it was supposed to be.  They covered our floor with plastic so they wouldn't get foam on the floor.  The people who did the spraying were excellent.

Nova Spray Foam Insulation used Demelic Agribalance Open-Cell Foam Insulation in the ceiling of my crawl space. The estimator, Bonnie, was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. She took extra time to answer all my questions completely  because I was changing from fiberglass insulation to the spray foam.  After choosing this company based on the price and professionalism, the appointment was quickly scheduled. The crew came in to remove the old fiberglass insulation and finished within several hours. They were very efficient and friendly. The spray foam crew was scheduled for the next day. The spraying went well and very quickly. I noticed my floors were much warmer and the cold draft disappeared after the insulation crew left. I would definitely hire this company again. Bonnie is excellent at answering any and all questions. The crews did an great job.

My job was actually way too small to be feasible for any contractor.  However, they provided me with the necessary information and resources knowledge to tackle the job myself.  It went well, was cheaper and easier than I expected.  The professionalism and expertise they provided was above and beyond what I would have expected.  I would recommend them to anyone with insulation needs in the future.

The entire process went very well.  The staff was very pleasant, prompt and professional.    Bonnie was the representative that came to assess my home for an estimate.  She also returned after the work was done to make sure that I was satisfied with the work that was done.  The gentlemen that came to do the actual insulation were on time and made sure that my home and the area that they worked in were left clean and in order.

Since having my attic insulated, my home has been warm and toasty during the winter.  I've also noticed that it is a bit cooler on the upper level during the summer.

If needed, I would definitely use them again.  I would also recommend them to other people.

We spent about $7000 on that service. It was a small portion of the house they did. We have a small crawl space underneath the house, so what they did was they put down a vapor barrier and foamed the walls of the crawl space. We thought that they were very professional and they explained everything to us. They did a great job with what they did and cleaned up after themselves. We were expecting a noticeable improvement in the comfort level of the house, but we did not notice that much difference. We don?t if that was because they did not do the entire house and wouldn?t been able to without tearing down walls and it would have been a big project. The workers that came here were very professional.

Because of excessive air infiltration from the basement to the kitchen area on the first floor, I wanted to have the existing fiberglass insulation in the basement replaced with closed-cell foam insulation. Received a price estimate from the Company on Thursday 12/30/2010 and got the work done the next day. Excellent service from everyone that I have interacted with at the Company starting with the person who provided the estimate to the two installers who stopped by to do the job. They were all extremely professional and answered all of my questions throughly. It took them about 3 hours to lay the closed foam insulation around the entire perimeter of the basement around the band-joist. I would not hesitate a bit to recommend them to anyone.
