"Naturally, this is not the kind of report that any company likes to see and it's certainly not the way that we like to do business. We are a small company and, on a rare occasion, we just get overloaded and someone may not get an estimate. For the past 7 weeks or so, it's been due to the overwhelming amount of storm damage related work that we have been asked to deal with. As most everyone in this area knows, we got hit pretty hard by Hurricane Irene back at the very end of August and, since that date, it seems like all we have done is prepare insurance estimates, deal with insurance adjusters and repair homes that were badly damaged by falling trees. As Member says in her report, I did meet with her back in September and I did tell her that I would get her an estimate in just a few weeks. As much as I hate it when this happens, I just never seemed to get the time to get the estimate finished and out to her in a timely manner before I found that there was a negative report here on Angie's List. She is certainly right when she says that I didn't respond in a timely manner and this is definitely NOT the way that we like to do business. In retrospect, I probably should have just told her right up front that we were overwhelmed at that point with storm damage related calls and that I probably couldn't get her an estimate in a timely manner......but, that's hindsight. I figured I could handle it all, but I couldn't. I called her back after I saw the negative report and left a message on her voicemail telling her that the estimate was almost finished and that I could probably get it finished, typed up and out to her in just a few days if she was still interested........but I got no further response from her. We are now in the latter half of October and things are finally starting to slow down a little bit and, hopefully, this kind of thing won't happen again. When I called Member, I sincerely apologized. This is actually the first negative report of any kind that we have gotten in more than 20 years in business and it bothers me a lot.......but, at this point, there doesn't seem to be much that I can do about it. I will say one thing though, this negative report was about not getting an estimate. It was not about work that was poorly done. We will certainly try not to let this kind of thing happen again in the future."
"THANKS, WE APPRECIATE YOUR KIND WORDS. AS THE CUSTOMER INDICATED, THIS WAS THE SECOND MAJOR REMODELING PROJECT THAT WE HAD DONE FOR THEM. THEY ARE GREAT FOLKS TO WORK FOR AND I HOPE WE GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO MORE WORK FOR THEM IN THE FUTURE. BOTH JOBS THAT WE HAVE DONE FOR THESE FOLKS WENT VERY SMOOTHLY AND, I THINK, THEY WERE AS HAPPY WITH THE FINAL OUTCOME AS I WAS. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE GREAT REPORT."
