Contract signed in August, no communication since. It's now 11/15/16 and I had to reach out to the company myself for a status update. The office is rarely open so I must call before stopping by to not waste a trip and no one ever answers the phone! To top it off the voicemail box is completely full. Salesman that sold me the windows is no longer with the company and the supplier has confirmed my windows were not ordered although the company states that they were, so what was my $2700 deposit for??!! I'm highly disappointed!! No installation date or delivery date for the windows has been provided to date.

Presently ongoing....waiting for 5 months now. Extremely poor communications. Have been promised two approximate installation dates....neither of which have materialized. Very slow in returning calls and continue to promise but do not deliver. Presently regretting fooling with this company.

Initial salesman, Mr Seoane from Sae-Thru came out and provided me an estimate...the walk-thru and subsequent estimate went as expected and was without incident.  Mr Seoane made us feel comfortable with our decision to go with Sea-Thru Windows. When the 2-man team came out to install, there were a few red flags that I was going to have issues, but I ignored the signs. The two men had difficulty installing my big picture window in the foyer and had to call in a 3rd person to assist.  The men worked very quickly, perhaps too quick because they did not take the time to clean their dirty handprints off the walls around the windows.  Additionally, aproximately 2 years post install, the windows started leaking - makes me wonder if they even wrapped the windows....I contacted Sea-Thru, since they have a "Lifetime guarantee" on their windows to inform them on the leaks (and damage to the walls around the windows).  A repair tech came and was on time to inspect the issue. I was informed by the technician that "due to the cold winter" the caulking appeared to have deteriorated. I asked if he would be removing the current caulk and replace and he said there is no need that he just needed to caulk over it...I then asked about the repairs to the walls and was informed that is NOT covered and I would have to repair that myself. That does not seem right to me - so buyer beware! I wish I could upload pictures of the damage, but that option isn't here.  The price may seem good, but keep someone else in mind in you want it done right the first time.
If the company repairs the damaged area, I will update this review accordingly.

The first person who showed up for an estimate was very professional. He counted 22 windows - we made and agreement and he gave me a copy of rough estimate.
After that the professionalism dwindled rapidly.
Once I decided to move forward, they sent a guy out who couldn't articulate very well. He counted 21 windows. These are all major windows - not obscure or questionable windows. He also didn't have calculator with him to redo all the math. This is my rental house so we had to drive to my residence about 1 mile away.
BTW, he was convinced he counted correctly.
The installers showed up week of 2 Feb 2014. Again - not professional. They brought mud in throughout out the home during the installation.
It was freezing cold days - takes two days. Sea Thru person on the phone stated, they worked efficiently and would work in one room at a time and not open the entire house at one time. She lied. The installaters said 'she does this often' - its not true and we shouldn't have listened to her. The house was about 32 degrees the entire second day.
Then low and behold - the installers were short one window. First SeaThru guy counted correctly, the second did not.
Installers said they'd take care of all of this.
Then couple days later I get a call from Heather the reception person. She basically told me the mis-count was my-fault!!, I should have checked this out more carefully before signing a contract. After some very rude and accusationary discourse - it was all my-fault of-course - we didn't get very far.
I'd shop around first - be careful with the count - insist on professional installers, make sure install only on a decent day - they'll open your home up all day long!!! - and make them wear those clean covers on their shoes when they are in and out - they are in and out a lot. Make sure you realize - with SeaThru windows - your at fault for any mistakes they make once you sign that contract.

The whole experience went off without issues. Sales rep was able to come out, display product, and give in depth explanation of product and install. Placed order, and product arrived at estimated time given. Only set back was due to weather. Not able to get installed first scheduled date. But was surprised with the early notification of cancellation, which helped knowing rather than sit around waiting. Received call that day for reschedule which was alot sooner than we thought it would be. Install went well. Install teams were profesional and answered all questions that we had. Overall very happy with purchase, and experience with this company.

The pricing was awesome. They showed up at the right time. They took care of everything. I didn't have one issue with them. They called me to confirm appointments. The crew was good to go, they took care of some stuff. I used one of the guys that worked for them to do some other work for me. They were really good.

We had an excellent experience with Sea Thru in Virginia Beach. The manager who did the initial call and estimate was on time and very professional. He asked us a series of relevant questions and matched the product to our needs without a hard core sales pitch. There was none of the typical jargon or scare tactics that you often find in the home improvement business. He claimed that we would see a big difference in the sound and feel of our house - less drafty, better efficiency and less jet noise - which I found hard to believe given our proximity to the jet zone. But he was right. Our HVAC bills have dropped and the jets are more tolerable than before. The installers arrived right on time, worked hard and did a good job cleaning as they went. The experience proved to be minimally disruptive to our daily lives. I was amazed that the job was done in just two days. Additionally, before the installers did extra work on rotted areas around the windows, the office called me first to determine if I wanted the extra service. There were no surprise charges, which we appreciated. Since then we have been nothing less than pleased with our new windows. Once they were installed we immediately hired a power washer company to come and clean up the rest of the house so it looked as new and clean as the windows. I would recommend this company to any of my friends and family and my referrals do not come easily.

The salesman, measuring tech, and workers were all polite and professional. The only problem came when there was a weather delay and the company did not do a good job of contacting me about not being able to do the job. The weather caused them to move the install date back two weeks. This is more the fault of the weather rather than the company, but I wish they had been a little more pro-active with calling me and letting me know about the possible schedule change. The install was completed in a timely fashion and all the windows worked well. I was not able to be home when they finished up, and they did not schedule a post job walk-through. Sea-thru was price competetive with other vinyl window companies, and they were much cheaper than the composite and wood window companies in the area. They were also willing to do the install on the 3rd floor of our townhouse when some of the other companies had reservations about working on the 3rd story.

Iordered windows at the end of Sept. An associate came out and informed me I had 14 windows -something I thought was obvious. I made sure he understood that I wanted to put the house on the market and he told me the windows took 4 to 5 weeks but they worked with people in a rush. I gave him a deposit of over $1,700 and he rushed a measure in the following Tuesday as I was told they only ordered windows on Wednesdays. the installer camevand took the measurements. The next day was the day i had been told windows were ordered (October 3rd). I called both the office and the associate to make sure my windows were ordered. The office told me that they were going to "order my windows first thing". Two weeks later (approx 4 weeks from my deposit). I called again as i had not received a call to schedule the install. I was told that window take 2 1/2 to 3 weeks and that my windows would not be in until November 5th so I could be scheduled on the 7th. 7 weeks from the order. Her math did not add up to me the windows should have been there. In fact the date of the 7th should have been the date if they had not been ordered yet on week 4. I called there home office in va beach. It did not add up to the home office personnel either and I was agin told it takes 2 1/2 to 3 weeks for them to get the windows. She told me shewould get to the bottom of it. I called her back at the end of the day and was told that the windows had just been ordered the previous week ( week 3). As they had been waiting on a call from me regarding measurements and ordered after speaking to me. They never called me or spoke to me after my call to them the first week to make sure my windows were ordered. They took the measurements I gave them absolutely none. I was furious about them making this up and blaming me. I gave them money they took measurements I went above and beyond calling to make sure the window were ordered. To placate me I was told they made a call to the vendor and were going to get the window on week 6 (one week earlier and the week they should have come in if they ordered them on week 3 not the day I was trying to schedule. this is alsotwo weeks after they should have been installed). They rescheduled the day before that instal and I went back to having a week 7 install. The day they came it was overcast with a 20 percent chance of rain in the forcast. The installer told me I was lucky they were not rescheduling again. The first thing the installer asked was did the house have water. I stated of course. They were in the house moving windows and I went into my laundry room which has new laminate flooring and fresh paint and no washing mashing. Someone had turned the washing machine spicket on so water poured down the wall. They did not leave it running but they got the wall wet. The house has 3 sinks a tub and 2 outdoor spickets . Why try the only one that has no sink or can cause damage. I spoke to the lead installer and he denied turning it on. I know I did not do it. I had to touch up the paint. Over all the windows looked great but as a whole they were terrible to work with and loved to point fingers at me the customer when they made mistakes. I would avoid them at all cost.

The scheduled salesman didnt come but another one did. This was disconcerting for me as I was alone for the appt. I had no idea who this man was initially. He told me all about the windows and as we walked the perimeter he told me that if any of the vinyl trim around my windows needed to be replaced it would be. This was not correct. I was told it would be about 3-4 weeks and yet I heard nothing til I called after 4 weeks and was told it would be at least another week, then we made the appt for installation. Both my husband and I took off from work to be there. We were told it would take a day and a half because the windows would take one day and the patio door would take a half day. The first day 2 men arrived on time, one was great, Charles, the other smelled of alcohol and looked dirty and unshaven. I was immediately told that the sashes were not correct but they would install them anyway and then change them out the next day. I was told it would only take a few minutes per window to do this exchange. 3 screens were damaged but I was told they could easily be repaired and would be installed the next day as well. The second day the team was to arrive between 8 and 9 like before but instead didnt show up til after 9:30. I was told they didnt have enough trucks and so my team had to drop off another team to work on a door at a church before coming to my home. Charles came with another older man. Both looked clean and were polite. The older man took over four hours to install the replacement sashes and couldnt get the right ones in the correct windows. Finally Charles was able to do it after installing the patio door (one panel was broken). They would order a new door panel and come back to install it. The screens couldnt be fixed because they didnt have the correct tool to do the job. So when the new patio door came in they would install the screens then. A week and a half later we got the call that the door was in and the screens were ready. We made the appt and a different man came to install the door. He was unshaven but somewhat clean. After he was done we noticed it made a tapping noise as it was moved. The track had been damaged. He said they had a spare at the office and someone would come out to replace it. He fixed the screens...they had not been repaired as I was told so it took him some time to get them installed. We made an appt for 5pm for the door repair. A man arrived early and waited out in his truck. My husband was home by 4:30 and the guy never came to the door. My husband went to the door and waved at him a bit after 5pm. He said it didnt look like anyone was home and he almost left. The man yanked on the door, tried a shortcut of propping the door up instead of taking it out of the frame. It didnt work. He got very frustrated and excused himself for a few minutes while he went outside to cool off. He came back and put in the new track but it wouldnt sit flat and the door was crooked. He said he didnt know why they didnt send out a 2 man team instead and he got the door secured. He stated we'd be getting a new door and someone would call us. Apparently that wasnt correct either. We didnt get a new door but got another appt with another crew. 2 men were sent this time. One was wearing cut off sweatpants and both looked dirty. They took the door out, straightened the bent track and put the door back in. We signed the contract and gave them our credit card to pay the balance. We were so happy to have them gone! We didnt receive any receipts until a few days later in the mail, along with a satisfaction questionaire. I answered it honestly and never received a response. I contacted the better business bureau and got a response stating that things like this happen and clauses were in place to cover them for things like this. The product is great and can be bought elsewhere! The service was awful!

Overall a grade of B. Why? Everything else gets an A, but the professionalism during the install gets a C, and that's being generous. The windows are great. The workmanship putting them is great. The office, sales and scheduling staff are responsive and very professional. They do exactly what they say they are going to do. The install: It was to be a 2 day job. We had 24 windows to put in. We had a very hectic week the time period we were scheduled for install. On day 1, we had not gotten all of the pictures/curtains down when the crew showed up. 2 members of the crew were obviously very irritated. These two members of the crew continued to be unprofessional the rest of the day. The lead guy, I don't remember his name was good to go and professional, but his 2 workers were not. Although they put the windows in, they had to be micro-managed by the lead guy. My wife was trying to avoid them, so she laid down in our spare bedroom that was already installed. They must have thought she left, so she overhead them talking about our house, girls they were going out with, etc. They spent time texting while not installing and chatting about stuff that I am glad my 3 kids weren't around for. Although they got the work done on time, they need to concentrate on getting work done and being professional. The crew the next day was still 3 people, but another guy was there new to the job. He was fine. They finished day 2 by wrapping the vinyl/pvc around the trim. Overall good workmanship during the install, but Sea Thru needs to put their best foot forward and send their best crews for the install. Perception does matter. Grade is a B.
