The way this company left my ceiling made it so I have to pay extra out of pocket for repairs. The manager claims they do not have to cut “clean” they just remove it. Well now I have companies who do not want to repair my ceiling because of how jacked up it is and this company doesn’t care. They also refuse to help me because their plumber was “unable to find the source of the leak” when another company found it in 10 minutes. Also out of my pocket. Don’t use this company for water damage/leaks unless you want to have to deal with Tons of additional issues.

Do not use Roto-Rooter if you are unable to double check their work. Avoid if you are disabled, elderly, etc. They will take advantage of you! Avoid if you are military, they don’t want to honor the military discount they quoted me. After a “two hour job” turned into a two day nightmare (leaving us without a toilet in our 1-bathroom house) dealing with inexperienced technicians with improper tools, they finally finished. Before I would pay, I double checked their work in the crawlspace and found that they damaged a section of my HVAC ducts. They were going to leave without saying anything! Luckily, I was in the process of selling and just had a home inspection, so I had proof that it wasn’t already damaged. They tried to deny responsibility! After Roto-rooter agreed to reimburse me, I spent over $1,000 to repair the hvac ducts. I was then told that they would only reimburse me the difference of what I owed them. Then weeks later I was told I wouldn’t be reimbursed as much as they quoted because I “waived” my military discount when I refused to pay. If they don’t at least send me the difference between what they quoted me and the cost of the HVAC repair then they are thieves. But, after all of my lost time and money, a company that cares would be compensating me the full cost of the damage and waiving their cost. I’ve given them well over a month to make this right before leaving a review and they haven’t. They’ve told me a check should be coming soon, but It’s been weeks and I have not received any reimbursement, nor do they consistently respond when I ask for updates. I’ll continue to update this review if things change.

Work was done expeditiously from the roof vent line. $425 for 1/2 hour work seemed a tad excessive.

Technician was friendly, professional, honest, quick, and cleaned up after himself. The price was quite high ($369 but I had a $40 coupon making it $329). I was quoted much lower ($225 range) from other companies but went with Roto Rooter because they were the first to arrive, charged a flat rate (not by the hour), and were so professional. I would easily use them again, just expect to pay more.

The repairman was nice and explained what could happen if the pipes had to be taken apart. However he did a simple snake in the sink drain which took a very short time. I thought the $350 price he quoted me was IF the pipes had to be taken apart which they did not. So I had to pay $350 less a $40 coupon from Angie's List. Roto-Rooter local manager did call when I complained about the price and offered a $35 credit which of course, I never received. There is a six month warrenty on the work but $350 is still a very high "flat" rate for a simple drain snake.

Our shower was leaking so I contacted Roto-Rooter to set up an appointment. The plumber arrived on schedule, checked out the problem and gave me an estimate for a couple possible options to repair it. I agreed to try the cheaper option first and see if it worked so he proceeded to do the work, but it was still leaking so I agreed to try the more expensive option, which was to replace the diverter. Again, he proceeded to do the work and it seemed to fix the problem, the shower wasn't leaking anymore. Apparently he never actually tried running the shower to be sure everything was still working as when my wife tried taking a shower later that evening the water started pouring through the ceiling into the bathroom on the floor below. Fortunately we caught it in time and turned off the water before any serious damage was done. We called Roto-Rooter and asked them to send someone the next morning, which they did. The second person was able to fix the problems that the first person failed to fix and after that everything worked fine.

I am amending a review that I submitted for the work of Ernie on June 18, 2018. Turns out, the leak wasn't fixed. The closet and utility/laundry area again are wet. He put silicone on piping for the shower, the shower has not been used since the date of the repair. The water is/was coming from elsewhere. I am disappointed. We are going to have them come back out in the morning.

The technician replaced my top of the line shower head with a funky, ghetto shower head. It took him less than ten minutes. He charged me 260.00 for ten minutes of labor and a poor, cheap quality shower head. The charge was absolutely unreasonable and I now have a shower head with low pressure - the problem that I was trying to fix. Without telling me he replaced the shower head with a water saver shower head - one of the cheapest around. I fixed the shower head because I am selling my house and the buyer noticed the low pressure on the shower head during the final walk through and asked to have it fixed prior to closing. If the shower head was of high quality, I would have had an easier time accepting the outrageous charge. The service technician wore his boots into my shower and turned on the shower. I had to get a towel for him to clean off his boots. His actions showed that he had little regard for my home or my possessions. He should have worn protective booties before he entered my home. This transaction was highway robbery.

It went well - roots were cleaned out to the street. Serviceman recommended a deluxe service, but performed a more basic one, as I requested. He offered some suggestions about how to avoid or limit similar problems in the future.

well. Roots were removed. While there was another clog about a week later, this appeared more a function of a toilet with inadequate flow to pass along the sewage, I could clear out the blockage with a snake and a plunger and correct the flow problem with the toilet. Serviceman offered a more extensive (and expensive) plan that was declined. He still had suggestions for preventive maintenance that I could do myself.

On time as promised and corrected problem

Mike (703) was our technician for the job and he was very professional and efficient. We called at about 2PM and the coordinator told us that a technician would arrive between the hours of 4PM and 8PM. Mike showed up around 6PM and finished close to 7PM. We had this blockage issue before and snaked it ourselves but since it happened again, we decided to let a professional take care of it. The price was about average but the Angie's List coupon saved us $40. Mike cleared up the clog and told us that his work was guaranteed for up to 6 months. Overall, it went great.

I can't say enough good things about Joe (#2181), the technician who came to our house, but I'll start with friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Before I called Roto-Rooter, I received a couple of other estimates from companies that inaccurately diagnosed the problem. Sewage was backing up into a first-floor shower, and I assumed that bathroom's sewer line needed to be snaked. The other companies said that must be the problem. But Joe determined that the blockage was a long-time buildup of sludge in the main sewer line. The other companies said they would have charged me much more than I paid -- between $500 and $600 -- and I now know their efforts wouldn't have solved the problem.

First tech came out on time but couldn't get the trap seal open in order to snake line. He said he would have to go through vent pipe on roof. But that would require two men. total cost, $610.00 instead of $455.00. Three hours later second tech arrived. Turns out first tech didn't have correct tools. They buy own tools. Second man got ground trap open but said they had to go through vent pipe anyway. long story short, they pulled little clump from line but didn't clean line just unclogged for $610.00. Told me camera man would be out soon to check line. His report after he ran camera through line was cast iron rotten/broken/collapsing throughout with back grading. Cost $12,610. paid $225.00 for second camera inspection, the first seemed unreal since we hadn't any problem before. The report, which I viewed while camera was running was complete line was in good shape, years of life left. but needed cleaning. A couple areas showed bellying but was told that's normal. One thing camera did show was last tech appears to have dropped plug from trap into sewer line which will cause clog sooner so I need to get line cleaned ASAP. Three inch plug in a four inch line!

Very good issue is resolved.
