The estimator di not attempt to upsell me on a full encapsulation but when I asked about the option he presented a comparison of costs for both. The scheduling staff worked with me to get scheduled to complete the work despite many days of inclement weather. I was kept informed of the process by both the office staff and the work crew. Very satisfied customer and would highly recommend them to anyone having crawlspace issues.

Bay Crawlspace and Foundation Repair did an amazing crawl space encapsulation job at my house. I’ve been planning to combat the moisture problem in the crawlspace for the last three years. I obtained 6 bids and a lot of diverse recommendations on the best approach that should be used in solving the problem. After counseling with James City County and a structural engineer, I decided to go with Bay Crawlspace because their approach closely aligned with the independent advice I received. Additionally, they also offered financing options that helped us manage the monthly expense budget. They worked with the County on obtaining work permits, came in completed the work within the timeframe they promised and left the area clean of all debris. Since the install last year, I have had the pleasure of meeting their Field Manager Seth Lilienthal who performed the annual preventative maintenance. He checked the entire system, cleaned filters and changed batteries out to ensure that the system continued to run effectively and efficiently. In summary, as a homeowner, I’ve learned that you get what your pay for. The cheapest vendor may actually be the worst. Bay Crawlspace and Foundation Repair is the company I would highly recommend for crawl space encapsulation. Bay crawlspace and foundation were professional and friendly in every phase of our crawlspace repair. I initially called Bay for a quote about the condition of humidity in our crawlspace. They sent out Beau who was great to work with as he walked us through his process. What I especially liked about Beau was that he was open and honest about what could be fixed and what didn't need to be fixed. Beau went into the crawlspace, measured our foundation, and took ample pictures in order to accurately describe the condition We had an initial quote from a competing company come out that quoted us an insane amount without going under the house, doing any measuring or even opening the crawlspace door. Beau outlined his process of potential repairs with a reasonable price through various options that fit our needs. Beau was also patient with us throughout all of our questions. We decided to go with Bay and do not regret it. The office immediately called us and scheduled the first day for repairs. We were scheduled only a short time after our quote and I appreciated the transparency about their availability even during this terrible pandemic. The crew arrived early the morning of our schedule day and discussed with us everything that we agreed on. The crew was incredibly hard working, efficient, and professional. James and D.L. didn't stop until the job was complete and kept me informed about adjustments and how the progress was going. After the work was finished my wife and I checked out the crawlspace and it is flawless. We had problems with sitting water not flowing to the sump pump and now we have no sitting water and the humidity in the crawl space is low. I wanted to take a moment and thank all of the Bay Crawlspace staff for a phenomenal job done under my house to include a French drain and a vapor barrier. From the initial assessment I was well informed and updated regularly about what all would be done and the time frame in which it would be completed. I must say that I am impressed with the four gentlemen that came out today; Marcus, Austin, Troy, and Shannon were on time, professional, very knowledgeable and extremely helpful! While completing my project they found that I had a broken sewage pipe, they took pictures and notified me immediately. They were able to send me the pics through email which allowed me to send to my plumber. I was able to have the problem corrected all in the same day. I appreciate all their hard work and taking the time to make sure the job was done correctly! Thank you for a job well done!

Bay did a great job with communication and timeliness. The team that came to perform the work were professional, kind, considerate and caring. Stefan was the foreman. He had two other guys with him, Adian (I probably spelled his name wrong, I apologize) and Floyd. Stefan kept us informed, was attentive to any concerns, was always on time, and if any concerns arose that he could not immediately address he would contact the office so that we had accurate answers. They cleaned up behind themselves to include sweeping out the crawlspace after completing the job. This company did not try to sell us anything that was not needed and worked with us to ensure the job was done to our satisfaction. We would definitely use this company again should any further foundation issues occur.

Last year, we had settling issues on our house and several issues with our crawl space. We had the house jacked up in a couple places, a french drain put in, as well as a new vapor barrier. The team was on time and professional. I recently had an issue with my sump pump after weeks of heavy rain, and with the issue being under warrenty it was resolved very quickly. Seth L. was the Field Manager that came out, he was on time and very professional. He troubleshot the issue and realized we had a bad pump. To ensure it was fixed today, he picked up a pump on his way home from work and installed it the same day. I would certainly reccommend BAY for your crawlspace issues and needs.

The technicians were prompt and explained all that needed done. Although the job took two sessions, the men worked to correct all the problems. An extra help came in the form of Seth Lilienthal, who had to help round up my skittish foster dog that had broken loose from his tether. Had it not been for Seth, I might still be out there chasing that poor, traumatized dog. Seth also was quite thorough in making sure the job was up to code and would pass inspection.

I called and arranged an inspection for two weeks time. They were well aware of our location at that time- we live about 35-40 miles from their advertised Newport News location. There was a small amount of snow on the scheduled inspection day and I received a call that morning saying they'd have to reschedule. Though inconvenient, it was reasonable and a new inspection was scheduled for three weeks in the future, late in the day. Thirty minutes before the rescheduled time(now five weeks from original contact and having rearranged my schedule twice) I received a call telling me that we are out of their service area, no one was coming, and a cavalier "sorry to have wasted your time". Five minutes later, I received an automated text telling me they were on their way with the assigned mason's cell number. When I called him he expressed surprise that he had been called shortly before and told not to come. I asked to speak to the supervisor at the office and expressed my dissatisfaction at the timing of the cancellation, the fact they had known our location and scheduled us twice, and that we had no way to know we were out of their service area based on their online marketing. I feel that even if the purported reason for canceling was true(not so based on proximity to their advertised Newport News location)and they had just made a mistake, at that point they had an obligation to carry through on the commitment- just good business practice. I was told the general manager would call me the next day. That was a week ago and has never happened. Very disappointed- I feel they did not act in good faith and cannot be recommended to others. I write to let you know how pleased I am with Bay Crawl Space. They recently replaced my foundation vents and crawl space doors. Everything about the experience was exceptional!
