Kitchen Doctors

The overall job was fantastic.  The owner and crew from Kitchen Doctors were very professional, easy going, and courteous.  I have more projects and most definitely only use Kitchen Doctors.

Our cabinets were wood and very sturdy so we just refaced them and added new doors and hardware.  The job turned out to be beautiful and the workmanship was top-notch.

They did a great job. I would highly recommend them.

This went far better than we expected after hearing others' horror stories about their remodels.  Jim kept us informed all along the way as to how everything was progressing.  He answered all our questions and addressed all our concerns timely and very professionally.  The crew always cleaned up after themselves every day and we were inconvenienced as little as possible for a very short time.  Jim estimated a 3-week timeframe and it was done a little after that due to some issues with subcontractors' schedules.  Jim coordinated every contractor and every part of the job so that there was virtually no downtime on the project.  Somebody was at the house every day working.  The floor is beautiful bamboo hardwood where it had been cracked ceramic tile, the cabinets are gorgeous natural maple where they had been a dark walnut (yuck), the black granite countertops are stunning and the island with all the storage and the ceramic cooktop is the centerpiece of the whole room.  Removing the walls from the formal dining/living rooms and integrating the space as part of the kitchen was the best thing we could have done.  We feel like we have a new house!  It's been a year since the job was done, and we're still loving it.

Was very helpful and spent a lot of time with us talking and helping us plan our kitchen as we suddenly had to remodel it and didn't even know where to start.  Very knowledgable and thought of all the little details none of the other cabinet guys had even mentioned.  We really liked  him and wanted to choose him but we fell in love with a door style from another company that he didn't have so we didn't end up getting to use Kitchen Doctors.

The estimator was very professional and reliable. He was followed by someone to take the measurements and help match the color (it is a perfect match, by the way). All the materials were ordered and when they came in, they were installed with genuine skill. We were concerned at first by the way the drawers were sliding (an unexpected level of resistance), but they made things right, just like Jim said they would. I don't know how we could be happier with the craftsmanship, professionalism and skill of Kitchen Doctors. I would recommend them to anyone. They are also some of the nicest people you will meet.

Plus: Cabinet doors are of good quality, are hung straight and strong. Bathrooms were done well and on time. Jim is responsive, energetic and does his own work (huge plus). Crew was also quite good.
Negatives: Kitchen problems: Work order signed in June, job was supposed to occur over 2 weeks, finished in November. Problems included multiple mismeasurements/ wrong style ordered causing delays. Also drilling of inappropriate holes  (wrong side/ none needed) during initial installation requiring re-ordering of new doors. Sawz-all cuts in cabinet faces went unrepaired. New base cabinet drawer installed without plastic bumpers resulting in deep gouges in new cabinet door.

The estimate was a little over $9000. They were on time, professional and competent, but I just didn’t like their design.

The job went amazingly well! The end result is a beautiful kitchen replacing one that was decades old. I first learned of Kitchen Doctors, and, Jim Sheehan, the owner, through a family friend for whom Kitchen Doctors had done work. From our first meeting through projection completion, Jim, and Kitchen Doctors, were prompt, courteous, and customer focused. Jim provided excellent drawings so I could visualize the scope and scale of the project. He designed my kitchen in such a way that every inch of available space was effectively utilized.  Jim was always available to answer any questions. If I left a voice message, he almost always returned my phone call within a day or so. I can't say enough good things about Kitchen Doctors. If you are considering a kitchen remodel, I would highly recommend considering Kitchen Doctors.

They trimmed out our cabinet s and put molding across the top. We had some wood looking vinyl panels in the in caps and they replaced it with wood. They did a good job. They ordered the cabinets for me and came back out and installed them. They put a new corner trim across all the tops of the old and new cabinets. They installed wood paneling on the back of my island and on the in cap. I would use them in the future. The cabinets that we ordered were not available and he made a substitution and they were being put up on the wall before I saw the difference and asked about it. They did not actually tell me that the ones that exactly match your kitchen cabinets are not available anymore. It is not noticeable but it is different. I would have liked him to discuss that with me. He did do a good job of installing.

They arrived on time, got right to work and had made a sizable dent in the job within a couple of hours. They were very professional and good at their work. The cabinets turned out better than we had imagined---what a difference! Jim and company turned blah into beautiful, and all without breaking the bank. Job well done guys!

Everything went well.

From the evening owner Jim Sheehan met with me for an estimate, to the completion of the project, he was professional and personable. Jim worked around my schedule to complete my job in less than the time projected. The cabinets and countertops were exactly as represented and the price was far better than cabinet replacement. Jim hauled away all the old stuff and swept up after completion, leaving my kitchen perfectly clean. Refacing is a great alternative to replacing for a homeowner on a budget, and I would recommend Kitchen Doctors to anyone interested in giving their kitchen a wonderful face lift. I am extremely happy with my new kitchen.

Jim came out to our house, was on time, and extremely courteous. We described the work we needed done and asked for his ideas. He was very honest and informed us that he could not match the construction and look of our existing cabinets, which was a must for us. That said, he did give us some great ideas and feedback, knowing full well he would likely not get the job.

I loved the results - it came out exactly as promised. The estimate was exact and Jim did an excellent job. I had initial doubts about refacing, but the materials have held up extremely well and I am considering a kitchen refacing. The color of the wood doors matched the laminate cabinet refacing materials exactly and transformed the room's feel.

It went really well. It was a one day job. He came out, measured, showed us cabinets and cabinet styles. He is a very professional and nice guy. We had a complete contract with him and nothing ever strayed from that. He showed up on time with everything he needed and did the job.
