Mr. Electric (Bruce Shiflitt) was on time and pleasant and knowledgeable about what needed to be done.  He spent a couple of hours the first day replacing the overhead sink light.  However, the replacement (which I had bought to be used) turned out to be defective, so he and his helper had to go to Lowe's to get a new one.  He didn't charge me for the new one, and proceeded to successfully replace the old light.  On  the next day, he came alone and put in the new hall socket and replaced the outlets.  I would hire him again to do any further work that needs to be done at my home.

They arrived on time and installed each item in an excellent fashion.  It's been over a year since everything was installed and they are working great.

We are very pleased!  James W. was the person who handled both providing the initial estimate and the installation of all components.  He was very professional and pleasant.  We have roughly 30 feet of steps that come down a steep hill in our front yard, leading to the front entrance of our house.  As I have an 88 year old mother, we just installed a strong railing that she can hang on to when coming down the steps.  But at night, the steps are almost impossible to see, even with our porch light on.  So, we wanted good, strong lanscape lighting that would light those steps enough so my mother could see them in the dark.  James listened to what our goal was, and then he personally chose just the right product that not only accomplished the goal, but also look great and actually complement the railing.  Most importantly, we now have a safe stairway that is entirely visible at night.  And, since Mr. Electric is associated with Home Depot, I was able to put the entire cost of the lights and the installation on my Home Depot credit card.  When my tax return gets in, it'll be paid off by the end of April.  So the Home Depot connection, in my experience, makes Mr. Electric much more convenient when it comes to financing.  Great job, Mr. Electric!  I also must mention, I had quotes from 3 companies.  Mr. Electric was the most affordable and fair, I think.

We first had Mr. Electric come and give us an estimate on a variety of Electrical work that we need to get done around our house. The guy who came kept mentioning that if we use them we get a discount because of Angie's list- he brought it up, not me, which immediately caught my attention. Two weeks after that visit we had him come back to move a lightswitch for us and he did an amazing job. He didn't let the fact our dog barked at him the entire time bother him, he was on time, completed the job quickly and then vacuumed up the mess from having to cut into the drywall. We were very impressed and when we get the rest of the work done we are going to use Mr. Electric again!

First, I purchased two hours of electrical service at a discounted price from another website. Their original price is 100 dollars per hour which I think is relatively high. So, I called to set up an appointment for the end of June; however, I guess the appointment was not recorded and no one showed up; so I called that day to reschedule which was a day in August; I wanted some routine work done. First, I wanted them to add an outlet to a wall upstairs, then replace an existing outlet that was worn out, then install a baseboard heater with a thermostat, and then look at the lighting fixtures underneath the cabinets in the kitchen since the transformer had to be replaced. James, the manager was very knowledgeable and understanding by explaining the situation with the Company; they have two offices (Richmond and Charlottesville) in which the Richmond electricians (2 of them were terminated within a month of each other) and James did not have a staff to perform more labor-intensive tasks. As a result, James could not install the baseboard heater with a thermostat (two person job). James did perform the outlet work and did look at the lighting fixtures underneath the cabinets; was surprised to see a transformer (I own an old house) but he did not have a transformer inside his truck or at the shop. However, James did look at my breaker box (I already paid for the time) and fixed breaker switches and re-routed some lines to lighten the load from an individual breaker switch. James was very polite, professional, and knowledgeable; however, if their staff is not in order then major jobs will be difficult to complete.

All wall outlets were checked for current. The face of the circuit breaker box was removed and all breakers were checked to see if any were defective. He then discovered in a subpanel box (used for power generated by a portable generator) a circuit that had been tripped and that turned out to be the problem.

Mr. Brad Shifflett showed up for the appointment at the scheduled time.  He was very personable and efficient at peforming his job. He explained to me the entire process and he suggested other electrical jobs I might want to have completed but it was never an issue of him trying to persuade me to get anything else done. If I decided to get any other electrical work done I will contact this company and ask for Mr. Shifflett.

The company took care of (2) GFCI, Replaced motion sensor on outside driveway lights, replaced old smoke dectector, found dangerous wiring methods in a heator/exhaust fan in bathroom.  He corrected all the problems.  Yes and Yes I would use this company again and try and request their technician James.

The Bad--Did not show up and received no phone call. To the employee of Mr. Electric- If you can't or don't want the work then say so.
The Ugly--I then called the company back and talked to a girl who didn't seem to really know. Took down name and address and would have James call. Did not even apologize(A simple sorry would of helped). Customer Service Sucks along with a no show equals an F grade.

Update: He didn't show up at all, and he should of called(I shouldn't of had to call) if he was confused.  Price was an F due to his no show and not calling...Thanks but no Thanks.
Response from Seven Hills Electric
"Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We appreciate it when our customers make us aware of their perception of the manner in which they were treated while in our business. We apologize for the confusion on our part. We had two customers calling for the same estimates with the name of member in both parties. James spoke with you both and gave phone estimates. James remember you were fine with the pricing so we are unsure why you gave us an F grade on that. We had scheduled the other party for Monday 8:00 am and received a message early Monday morning from our answering service that they would have to reschedule there appointment to after 4:00 pm. April our CSR rescheduled their appointment and notified James. When you spoke to James Monday he recalls mentioning to you about your wife calling in earlier to our answering service requesting to reschedule your appointment from today. When James arrived to the rescheduled appointment on Tuesday afternoon that is when James first realized he had the two names mixed up. James and you spoke Tuesday evening and you were upset and asked him why he missed your appointment. James remembers apologizing to you for the mix up and asked when could he come to your residence at your convenience and you told him to forget it. Again we apologize for this mix up and would never turn away any job opportunity given to our company. We value our customers and our chance to service their electrical needs."

The installation was great and my husband is very happy overall. My main issue was that the price went up more than $600 between the quote and the actual bill. He told me it might go up if it took him longer than he anticipated. I thought maybe $200.. I was shocked. But at that point the work was done. I won't use them again due to this issue.

Came  out and gave me a prompt estimate. Really knew what he was doing. Came out when scheduled and performed all the work that needed to be done. Did an excellent job. Was very pleased with his work and advice he gave to me as a follow up. Went beyond the call of duty and made me a cable to convert my 3 prong generator to a 4 prong which was needed for the hook up.
