Mclean Tile And Marble

The tile job looks good. Sean was pretty easy to work with. When I called later with little repairs, they were remedied. 
There are three things I don't like: floor heat and messiness. The installed floor heat is totally inadequate for the square footage . It means that there are cold spots- esp where I like to stand. It does drive me crazy whenever I step on one- which is pretty much every time I brush my teeth. It doesn't make me happy cause the heat was expensive. And I still don't have the warranty registration info for it. 
The other negative is that  it was dirty. Way too filthy and I don't have high expectations. There was always a mess left at the end of the day. It wasn't even cleaned up for the weekend. 
And there were extra charges. The floor that was installed wasn't level so more mud had to be applied. I was charged for it. It is unacceptable. The house's basic construction didn't change and Sean had supposedly worked on houses in the neighborhood. The problem was self-evident before work started. There were some extra charges that I don't think were really warranted. It added up to a lot of money.

They did an excellent job, the owner sean ghavami, came out and got perfect measurements than they came out and installed it.

Overall the services were superb. Sean Ghavami who runs the store checked on the work everyday. They were easy to work with, and the price was excellent.

Estimate provided for replacement of marble floor. During removal of existing floor it was determined that the liner of the shower had been leaking and the contractor was authorized to replace the liner and shower tile floor. No additional estimate was given. Work proceeded to accomplish both tasks. Workmen appeared to be efficient and pleasant. Work was completed and while the marble was not a perfect match with the floor in the other part of the bathroom, I was advised that such a match was difficult if not as tile groupings coming from the same quarrying operation in the same general area would be required to improve the match. As the original floor was nearly 20 years old I did not complain and accepted that there would be some differential. The installation was completed in a workmanlike manner and the workmen, who had used much effort not to track in dirt, dust, etc. cleaned up the area and replaced the items which had been removed to complete construction. While I was satisfied with the quality of the work I was somewhat surprised that the original estimate was exceeded by $2,300 even after application of $636 discount for Angies List. It seemed improbable that the additional work in the shower could have increased the estimate by nearly $3,000. A review of the final billing reflected a number of charges exceeding the estimate for the floor including prepartation, material costs for the marble and preparation work (ie: removal of toilet estimated at $150, charged $180, removal of marble floor estamated at $150 charged at $400, marble tile cost, estimated 30 squares for $405, charged for 50 squares for $675). It might be worth noting that I did not advise the owner of the company that I was entitled to an Angies List discount prior to receiving the estimate but only on acceptance of the estimate. The owner said that he would honor the discount. As best I can determine, the increased charges relating to the margble flooring seem to exceed the discount which is shown on the final bill. I blame myself for not inquiring as to the additional cost for the shower work which, in hindsight, I should have done.
I do feel that the provider took advantage of the situation and charged me more than he might have had if I had received an estimate for the additional work requested but since the initial marble work was well underway and couldn't be completed without the additional work I didn't feel that I could look elsewhere to have it performed.

I liked that they came out and did a free estimate. Everyone was very friendly. There were easy to communicate with. They were nice and they did a good job. It was a good experience.

I didn't dislike anything. They were very helpful and accommodating in selecting the right tiles for the job. I would use them again in the future.

Sean gave a helpful estimate with good advice on the insulation needed. Tolerated our delay caused by another contractor. Did excellent work - the floor looks beautiful.

Two workers along with the owner showed up within 10 minutes of promised time to begin. Workers put down protective covering, cleaned up work area each day, and took all trash and old material away. We wanted to use the same heating element to save money, so removal had to be very careful, which they did successfully. Job completed in 2 & 1/2 days as promised---the 1/2 day on Saturday. Workers spoke English which was a help, and were very courteous and careful. They left excess tile and other large pieces that had been cut without our asking for it. Floor looks beautiful.

I was extremely impressed with my overall experience and would definitely use them again (we may redo our kitchen). They were excellent about scheduling and came on-time (one day they even came a bit early), which is VERY unusual for contractors. The quality of the workmanship was excellent.
