Patriot Painting

Patriot Painting has completed three jobs for us. One in 2004, one in 2005 and one in 2011. We have had positive experiences each time, and wouldn't go anywhere else for our painting needs.

While Scott is the owner, he personally oversees each job. He discusses what you want/need in detail, and provides an estimate based on that. He is a straight-forward and pleasant business man that takes pride in the final product. 

His workers have been with him for 10-20 years. While most are skilled in many areas, he knows their individual talents, and maximizes them. To my knowledge, he has not let anyone go during the recent hard times (we recognized his staff in 2011 from 2004). Most, if not all, of his workers speak English well, and all understand what is expected of them. In our experience, their days start early (8:00am), and they usually leave for the day at 4:00pm. Scott often popped by during or after the work day, to check out the work being carried out. If there were any issues, Scott would review, and they were corrected promptly - on occasion, by Scott himself!.

Note: We were torn between an A or B rating regarding price. We believe that Patriot Painting prices are extremeley good value. Not the cheapest quote you'll get, but then, you get what you pay for.

Patriot Painting is a detailed-conscious company. It has continued to survive/thrive through word-of-mouth/recommendations. We are very pleased to submit our recommendation via Angie's List.

Overall, the company did an awesome job!  I just happen to run into Scott, the owner of Patriot, while I was shopping for paint in a local paint store.  It turned out to be my good fortune.  I mentioned that I was looking for estimates, bought some paint and went home.  Within a couple of hours, Scott showed up to give me an estimate.  After doing some due diligence, we scheduled the job within two weeks.  His crew was very prompt each morning for the three days it took to complete the job.  They did an outstanding job painting the trim, repairing some workwork, caulking where necessary, pressure washing and painting the deck, and painting the cement basement walk-out.  And, they cleaned up each evening before leaving.  Scott was on-site several times a day to elevaluate his crew's progess and checked with me to see how things were going.  One of the aspects I most appreciated was Scott's business philosophy.   He still believes in doing business with a handshake.  His word is his bond.  Still, he provided a detailed proposal so there would be no misunderstanding of the effort involved.  As a convenience, the company allows clients the option of cash or charge.  Usually, independent contractors only accept cash.  This winter, my wife and I plan to do some renovations inside our home.  Patriot Painting will be on our speed dial!!

My experience with Scott was very good, we corresponded via email and he was very prompt. Javier came out and did the work. He came out to pressure wash the deck on Friday, then to finished up on Saturday morning. He returned on Monday to seal the deck.

I was originally quoted $960 for the job but in the end that total came out to $1,090 - $130 over the original estimate. Scott said it took more sealer than he thought because Javier put 2 coats on the deck to make it look really good. He gave me a small discount on the 2nd coat ($30), but I would have preferred that he called me to consult, prior to applying the 2nd coat. But the overall experience was very good and my deck looks good.

I'd recommend their work. Scott was very professional.  Returned my query within 24 hrs, then turned around a quote after an initial walkthrough the same day. He was able to get his work crew on site within a week. As promised and on time, plus they did the entire job - all within one day with a crew of  five painters.  The quote estimate was spot on, and even came under when finalized. The over all workmanship was very good. Our home was left in nice shape when they left, cleaned up all their materials.

The owner Scott is quick to respond, he is very flexable in meeting your scheduling needs for estimate.  Did mine on a Sunday evening after I was unable to meet him on Saturday.  Got the estimate that night and was offered a discount if I could start work Monday.  I accepted the discount and his crew showed up promptly at 8:30 as I requested.  Four workers all very polite and professionsal, began taking down wall paper. 

The crew worked non-stop until lunch, by which time they had finished taking down drywall and were four hours ahead of schedule (Scott reduced my invoice for the four hours without my having to notify him). 

Scott showed up several times each day to monitor the crew, although they never needed attention. 

This was a two day job and one of the rooms being worked on was the master bedroom, as expected the master BR was in disarray (all furniture moved away from walls in the middle of the room, personal effects and furniture and covered with plastic)  the crew was expecting to put the Master back into normal condition so I could use the room that first night.   I thought this was above and beyond with a 4 br house we were more than happy to sleep in the guest room so they didn't have to move everything two more times!!!

Everything was great and I will be using Scott and his crew in the future.

Everything has gone great, for example Patriot painting did a large family room, kitchen, hallway up the stairs and the hallway coverring the top level.  Started with 2 guys and finished the second day with a third worker.  They put two coats of paint on.  The rooms were gorgeous, not a drop of paint to be scene.

Scott runs an extremely professional company.  His painters are prompt, courteous, and very neat.  The owner, Scott,  is a well mannered, well educated buisinessman with integrity. He does all of the estimates and spends as much of his time as you need to help plan your job.  Scott is also very good with color and helped me to choose my colors and shades.  This job included very high walls and ceilings with skylights and the finished product turned out beautiful.   I would hire this company again in a heartbeat.  In fact Patriot Painting painted the exterior of our house ten years ago and they were just as professional then.  That is because they are an established reliable company with reasonable prices and an excellent work ethic. 

In short - Pretty Good.

I was very impressed with their services right from start to finish. Their workmanship and quality of work blew my expectations. I didn't realize how much of caulking and painting had to be done on the exterior surfaces. The workers are very thorough in their work and they kept the area around very very clean, I didn't find a single drop of paint anywhere on the floor or the ground. The workers seemed were very reliable and trustworthy. They even cleaned the outer surfaces of our gutter at no extra charge.

At the end of day, our house looks like it is brand new once again after 6+ years.

I have used Patriot Painting for years with nothing but GREAT results. The owner, Scott, is easy to reach and very flexible in scheduling estimates. His estimates are always fair and, because his crews are so efficient, are often much less than competitors. I've been burned by other painters before that only price out one coat knowing that you need three. Patriot painting is always honest with their estimates and show me everything up front. The quality of their work is second to none. They use very high quality paint and all of his painters are very skilled. I've used them for a variety of jobs inside and outside the house and would recommend them for any of these services I listed above.

They came when they agreed to. They did the work in a professional manner, and cleaned up after they finished.
