Everything turned out good. They were professional and on time. They have great customer service such as calling me when the technician was coming, etc.
Description of Work: They snaked one of my drains to clear it out. They also repaired my home humidifier and installed a new sump pump.

I would not recommend this company to anyone.
Description of Work: The technician sent to our home clearly did not understand how a sink is put together, and confused about how to snake one out. He initially did not think that it could be done without disassembling my entire sink. When I pointed out that that was NOT going to happen, he got down and actually LOOKED at the pipes, and then said that he could snake it out and he was pretty sure he could reconnect the pipes. For $250. I thanked him for coming, as this was a free estimate, and called another service provider. They did the job competently for $180, with no problems or hesitation.

He came early! Recommended replacing the toilet. Our townhouse was built in 1972 and the toilet is original. Sediment buildup is causing the low pressure flushes, as well as a continual brown sediment that builds up in the bowl. He replaced the system and works great! We may replace the other two toilets later on as well. Got a 10% discount for being an Angie's List member.
Description of Work: Toilet was having issues flushing fully. We thought one of the kids may have flushed something down and it was blocked in the pipes. Have to use the plunger a lot. The final solution was to replace the toilet due to its very old age and sediment buildup inside the bowl area.

The folks from My Plumber came to our house to inspect our air conditioner and potentially to clean it. However, upon inspection they informed us that it was well over 20 years old and that paying for a cleaning would help but probably wouldn't give us the efficiency we were seeking. We then signed up to have them return to take a thorough assessment of our current HVAC system and recommend a possible new system for us. We purchases our house about 2 years ago and knew the system was old then, and figured it was probably time to think about replacing it. Our electric bills had become ridiculous during the summer and we were afraid of how high they would be again this year. At the same time, the old system hadn't been able to keep up with the temps in 2010 and we heard 2011 would be another hot one. Thanks goodness we did, because we put our new unit to good use this year! They came and looked over our house thoroughly, then advised on several levels of new products. We chose to get the whole darned system replaced: gas furnace, out door a/c unit, thermostat and blower. They came and replaced it all in a few hours, hauled away the old stuff, put covers on their shoes every time they entered the house and were very polite and professional. And no point did we feel that they pushed an up-sell, and they explained every step of the way. They also informed us that they have a policy of responding within 24 hours to repair calls, so we're in good shape if we ever need help with the unit. Our electric bill shrank by over 50%, even on the hottest months of summer. We are very pleased. As an important side note, I am female and took care of most of this although my husband joined for some meetings. I felt respected and not talked down to, even though all of the service people were guys. Much appreciated!
Description of Work: Our old A/C (whole house) was inspected and we opted not to have it cleaned in favor of putting the money toward a new unit. They assessed our home at the next appointment and suggested several products and offered financing. We chose to have our entire HVAC system replaced with them, which they did later that week.

He said there were two breaks in the main sewer line that went underneath the house - under the concrete slab that the house sits on. So he recommended a complete sewer line replacement. Since it would be a big mess to break the concrete slab right below the living room, he suggested putting in a completely new line that wold run along the house. This would involve digging a complete excavation of our yard etc. The total cost would be over $16 thousand dollars. I wanted all of this in writing and I had to chase him for a week (which involved numerous phone calls) afterwards to get a written estimate with detailed description of the work. Finally he sent the written estimate. Afterwards, I had three other companies come (at significant expense of $150/each) and take a look again to confirm what My Plumber said. I just wanted to be on the safe side. But NONE of these guys saw any breaks in the sewer line and ALL three said everything was perfectly fine with our sewers other than the replacement of the flange which cost couple hundred dollars. In short, either the guy who came was completely incompetent or blind or was just trying to drum up business with fake problems. I am hoping it was one of the first two and he was not trying to scam us. Either case, I never called back!!! UPDTE - I called Brooke Honold, Customer Service Manager at the number given after seeing the response to my original comments above. I left two messages and was never called back. No surprises there!!! I am guessing, the response on angie's List feedback is just standard procedure to look like the are "responsive." Alas, the whole company seems to operate wit the same motto...
Description of Work: We were putting our old house on the market and decided to replace one of the toilets. When we pulled it out, we noticed that the flange was damaged. While at it, we decided to do a more complete check since this is a 100+ year old house after all. So, we called My Plumber after seeing their ad for $100/line check with the camera. So, Troy, one of their specialists came right on the appointment. He was a very pleasant and polite young man. And he proceeded to check the sewer lines with the camera and spent around an hour with me.

Noticed cold water Saturday night. Called Sunday for service. Plumbers were to show up between noon and 9pm on Monday. At 8:45pm on Monday I called and they said they were just going to call me to reschedule for the morning. Obviously I wasn't happy since I had to take time off of work for a no show appointment. They said they come around 7am the next day. I didn't see them until about 10:30am on Tuesday. They compensated for the no show by waiving the service call fee. And in the end, the parts were free since the water heater was under warranty. Therefore, I paid nothing - but I'd rather have paid for them to show up on the first day I took off work. I'll only call them again if I have to service that warrantied by them, for anything else I'll try somebody new. Since they followed through with the free service call and no hassle with the warranty, I'll give them an overall B

Never use My Plumber due to their outrageous prices for little work. Their management does not bear any responsibility although they set the prices and try to blame it on the workers in the field. They are only out to get the consumer, every penny you have. Don't use them!
Description of Work: High prices for a simple job: charging a bathroom water faucet. The worker was very good, polite, professional and informative. However, I was charged for replacing a bathroom water facet, I supplied the faucet to be replaced, $406.11 for the labor (1.5 hours of labor max). This is outrageous! When calling My Plumber, I got the “company line”, “… the worker sets the price from the pricing book for the work…” They obviated any responsibilities for this outrageous price! Never, never use MNever, never use My Plumber…they will steal you blind!

Technician arrived within time parameter. Prices quoted were three times our other two quotes. We were stunned at the labor charges. Technician did not know the breakdown of the total cost we were given (parts vs. labor); only offered one option for purchase (toilet). Said the faucet we wanted to replace (widespread) was 'much more difficult' to install than a mini-spread faucet but his reason was vague.

Where do I start. The appointment was set for sat sept 10 between the hours of 8 and 6. No problem, Rafeal arrived at10 am. I wasn't home until he was finishing up but Rafeal explained that our filter was dirty and caused the freezing but we were in need of a compressor hose to be blown out because we were going to be flooded if we didn't do so. So, thinking this was problem we did the repairs heals placed tabletsin our pan for 200 buck for 2 of this things. I found 200 tablets cost 63 bucks. So we pay the bill and he leaves. We continue to run the ac and at 1230 the house has not cooled any. So I place a call to my plumber and ask if this is odd and I was told yes they would schedulea return visit. Well the tech calls me and says it hasn't been long enough to cool my house from 73 to 71 in that time. So I agree to wait an hour. As God would have it my plumber calls me 55 mins wanting a satisfaction report I explain the issues and was told yes we will send another tech out ASAP. Well at 445 I am tired of waiting and call them back as I am talking to dispatch the tech is calling my cell then my home and back and forth until he leaves a message as dispatch is listening oh I got caught up I can't come out until Sunday am. What the heck you run me around all day why? So I cancel the service call and stop payment on my check ASAP. I then turn to Angies list to fi d Commonwealth Heating and cooling. The owner reduced his service call price for me came out and what was wrong. Freon was low. 30 min later my house was70 degrees. Someone suggest my p,umber move on. You will regret working with them.

I was able to easily make an appointment to have Trent come out. (I've used My Plumber several times in the past. Trent had previously given me an estimate for the work.) Trent went through the work he'd be doing and the cost. The whole job took about 5 hours, including waiting for the parts to be delivered. Because all discounts weren't initially included, the cost was less than the estimate. Trent did a great job not only installing the new water heater, but also explaining any maintenance that would need to be done. I'd definitely call My Plumber for future jobs!

We were thrilled! When we decided to replace the kitchen sink we also decided that we wanted My Plumber to do the installation. Specifically, Joe, who we had had the pleasure of meeting from a previous service call on our water heater. We called Joe directly and even though his day off was the next day, he told us to call the office and make the appointment. He said he would do the installation of the kitchen sink for us, ON HIS DAY OFF! We have used Mr. Plumber twice and both times were pretty much an "emergency" situation. They have been totally accommodating, extremely professional, very quick to respond, were neat, intelligent and did their work as if it were in their own home.
Description of Work: We bought a new kitchen sink and disposal and needed to have them installed. The store we bought the items from said they would install them, however we were not prepared to pay their price especially when we did not know how good the installation would be. The original installation had been a disaster and had caused us many problems. We had started the process by removing the old sink and disposal and cleaning out the cabinet underneath. The plumber, Joe, went to work immediately, changing out the old, incorrectly installed (PVC) pipes, and adjusting their position to accommodate the new sink. He inserted the new sink into the countertop after taking precise measurements to make sure that there would not be any "pinching", ran the appropriate type of sealant under the sink edges, clamped the sink in and attached the new disposal. He put all new pipes in to attach the drain to the disposal. When he was finished, he thoroughly cleaned everything and you wouldn't even know he had been there. To top it off, he had called his manager to let them know that we had already removed the old materials and wanted to make sure they adjusted the bill accordingly.

I have used My Plumber three times because my realtor recommended them and the previous owner of my house had used them. Two out of those three times they have introduced new problems. Their biggest pro is that they have convenient hours and I would call them again if I could not take time off from work and needed them to come out on an evening or weekend. I called My Plumber on a Saturday morning about my leaking kitchen faucet as well as a few minor plumbing issues including loosening two fixtures that a previous plumber from My Plumber had overly tightened. A plumber was not available Saturday, which they did not inform me about until I called them back late Saturday afternoon. They sent a plumber out on Sunday morning. I showed him the leaky faucet and we went around the house to see the other issues. He was overly chatty and gave me way too much information about many things; for example, a detailed, step-by-step explanation about how to drain my hot water heater, which is something I did not ask about and is not a task I would undertake myself. In general, he was too familiar and overly talkative. He gave me several prices for the faucet to repair or replace - starting with $225 to repair, which seemed high to me considering he had only eyeballed it and didn't even turn it on or inspect it. I chose to replace it since the least expensive replacement option was only a little over repair at $275. The other options he gave me were $750, $580, and $610. He also talked me into replacing my garbage disposal for $560 although it was working fine. When he took it out, he showed me rusting areas that were presumably spots where it could have begun leaking - I don't have the background to know whether or not he was telling me the truth. He tried to sell me an expensive drain cleaner and a new bathtub faucet, which I turned down. He cleaned up after he was done replacing the faucet and disposal and everything seemed to be working. However, after he left, I did some dishes in the kitchen sink, and noticed that there was a huge puddle of water under my sink. I went downstairs, and the water had gone through the floor causing a large stain and water damage. I called My Plumber immediately and they were not able to get someone back out that day. Meanwhile, I had gone from having a minor issue with a dripping faucet to having an unusable kitchen sink. The same plumber who had replaced the faucet came out on Monday and admitted the leak was his fault - he had failed to reattach a hose. It seemed to be a minor thing that he definitely should have caught when he installed the faucet. According to him, the water damage to the floor is very minimal, but I do not agree and it would not be there had he properly finished up the job. When My Plumber came to my house in December 2010 to look at my water heater, a different plumber scratched off sealant on a crack in a toilet tank that I hadn't even noticed was there and pointed out to me that my toilet probably needed replacing. It had not been leaking and was working fine, but of course, after he scratched off the sealant, the very next day, it began to leak through the crack. I did not call My Plumber to repair/replace the toilet, as he probably expected me to because I thought it was an underhanded way to get work. He also charged me $175 to do very minor things - putting tape on my shower head pipe threads, removing sediment from a faucet strainer, and decreasing the temperature of my water heater. In addition, he put my shower head and faucet strainer back on so tightly that I could not remove them myself. I am giving My Plumber a grade of D based on these two negative experiences.

They have a large staff of well trained and knowledgeable service people. The only work they have ever done that I didn’t like, was done by a guy that was training and I never saw again, but other than that, they have been flawless. They have replaced a number of plumbing fixtures and recommended fixtures for us as well. They are expensive but they have recommended moderate and realistic solutions to different plumbing issues. We have always had such good results and that’s why we keep going back. I would rather spend more money to have good service

I ordered My Plumber's yearly maintenance plan for my two heat pumps over the phone last year because I was told it would cost approx $240. I felt that was a reasonable price since that was what I had paid another company approximately 1 year prior. They came out and inspected my two units which took the technician about 1/2 hour and told me I owed him $480 when he was done. I explained to him that I was told it was $240 and he said "no" she (the office) must of misunderstood because that is the price for one unit. I paid him and asked for a copy of the maintenance contract. He didn't have it, but the office would send me one. I called the office and asked about the price difference I was quoted and the actual price I was charged. Again I was told that it was a misunderstanding and they would also send me the maintenance contract. Never did get the contract... This April when they came back out for the last part of my maintenance plan check, the tech said one unit needed approx 1 lb of freon and charged me $205.93!!!!!! I felt this was robbery! I believe I had already paid them for the "labor" of the maintenance check in the yearly maintenance fee of $480. It took him approx 3 minutes to put the freon in. He tried to tell us that the freon was high because its being phased out and that it we were going to have to have a new unit soon or continue paying high prices for the freon. I've checked around and I haven't found a HVAC company yet that charges $200 for a lb of freon! I again called the company and asked to speak to a manager. A manager did call me back and explained that the $200 charge wasn't just for the freon, but the technician's time, the storage of the freon and etc........ I reminded him that I had paid $480 for a yearly maintenance contract and the "labor and travel time" was already paid for. The technician did not have to make a special trip out to our house to add the freon, the technician did not have to take any extra steps to determine we needed freon, because all of those checks are part of the regular maintenance contract. All he had to do was attach the bottle for 3 minutes and detach. The manager said "no" the technician's time was not included as part of the contract and he was sorry if we thought that; that's a "misunderstanding". I have had one too many "misunderstandings" with this company. $200 for approx 1 pound of freon in my opinion is extortion! I told him even though I felt they did quality work we would never use them again.
Description of Work: Performed maintenance check on 2 heat pumps and added approx 1 lb of freon in one system.

The service rep was rude and strange and seemed more like a salesman than a repair person. What they wanted to charge me I got another plumber to do without problem. They wanted to make me buy some expensive water softener equipment.
Description of Work: Put in a kitchen disposal unit but wanted a estimate on other services which they wanted to overcharge me and sell me things I did not use.

I didn?t like them at all. They came out right away and they wanted to put in new toilets. That might have been necessary but they were expensive and they didn?t offer me any choices. He just brought in the toilets right away and, with them sitting there, I felt like I had to have them put in. He did quite a bit of work.
Description of Work: My toilet tanks overflowed so I called My Plumber.

It went well. I called and got an estimate first. They came to the house in a timely manner and did the installation. They did an evaluation of how much ampage we need which was helpful. The experience was great and I would recommend them to others
Description of Work: They installed some circuit breakers and two outlets.

We've used them twice and we were not happy with their last visit. We need a plumber again and we are trying to find another one. It cost $80 just to have them come out. They claimed on their site that they have Moen parts available. He said that we would have to wait for them to order it and it would take x amount of time to get here and would cost x amount for the part and markup. Then we would have to wait for them to come back out to install it. This very much frustrated us so we went online and bought the part for $6 and my husband installed it. We basically paid $80 for somebody to come out and not be able to help us that same day. We also did not have confidence in the person's ability to open it up, diagnose it and put it back together to for it to be at least somewhat functional until we got it fixed. He didn't seem very careful with his hands. The company did call and leave a message afterwards to ask about the service but we didn't call them back. The plumber did offer to come back free of charge to install it but my husband took care of it.
Description of Work: We used My Plumber because the faucet in our kitchen would still run even though the handle was all the way down. They found the broken piece which my husband, who has no plumbing experience, found and the guy seemed a little fumbly when he tried to put it back together.
