Last year (2015) it was different, perhaps due to the rain. For the first time, we had to call several times for a re-spray.
This year (2016), I did not get an invoice. I usually get it on early March and prepay to be eligible for the 10% discount. Since I did not get an invoice, I emailed them on 03/13/2016 and they never responded. Nonetheless, on Friday 03/18, I got a plain invoice dated 03/08/2016 with a 1-30 Days Past Due notice. No hello again like other years or mention of the prepayment discount. This offended me! There is NO way that I am overdue. I prepaid for their services on the following dates 03/18/2012, 03/11/2013, 03/30/2014 and 03/21/2015--yes, I keep my receipts. So, I am not overdue on 03/08!
Today, I wrote them an email and officially canceled my service. They lost a loyal promoting customer!
Any time we had any mosquito sightings (maybe 2 or 3 times in the 3 years we used their service) they would gladly come out the next day and re-spray for us. The lack of mosquitoes was absolutely noticeable, by us, and any guests. We could actually USE OUR BACKYARD! which is nearly impossible in NOVA in the summertime. Even walking over to our neighbors' homes we could notice a difference. It was also nice because it helped keep away ticks and fleas for our pets. If we had not moved out of state, we would absolutely keep using their service.
I usually contacted them via email, and they were always very responsive. They were also great, if there was a big rain the next day, they were also happy to come re-spray.
(Before using their service, I have to admit that I was pretty skeptical, and honestly didn't think it would work. They had a money-back guarantee, so I thought it would be worth a shot, and I am so glad we did.)
It is my opinion that since they think I'm not home they skimp out on the services I paid for. I would NEVER use them again unless you want to babysit them every single time.
The managers can be nice on the phone but the workers are nasty. Not only did this guy today s***** the phone hard out of my hand and speak down to me, but one time when they were here recently I had to listen to them talk about the drunk, nasty s** they had recently. Clearly the managers have NO real idea what is happening out on the job. Clearly.
"Dear [removed member name], Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our company. We did spray every three weeks on schedule throughout the season as promised and we did perform numerous free resprays at your request. We are always happy to come back out in the event you are having issues in-between sprays and we always came within 24-48 hours of your additional requests. I am sorry you are still not satisfied with the service. When our operations manager met with you the same day you called last week, he indicated that you desired some sort of refund. We are happy to accommodate that request if you will please call our office on Monday. Respectfully, Mike"
On the day that I am writing this, we had our scheduled spray completed. There were 2 technicians, and they sprayed for exactly 3 minutes. I watched the entire time and witnessed the technicians completely skipping half of my backyard and a lot of my front yard. I very nicely confronted the technicians and was told that they can control the amount of pesticide coming out of the sprayer and that it didn't matter how much time was spent, what mattered was how much pesticide was released. Needless to say, I killed 6 mosquitos later this evening while sitting on my porch watching my kids. This is so different than my past 2 years with this company. We are so disappointed in the decline of this company. We have 3 kids and a pool, so mosquito control is very important to us.
UPDATE:
When the owner became aware of our concerns, he contacted us immediately and did more than enough to correct the situation. A re-spray was done immediately with new technicians. The owner assured us that our experience was not the standard that he has set for his employees. He assured us that he would address the issue internally and instructed us to contact him directly with any concerns in the future.. Since the new technicians came to re-spray, we have noticed the results that we were used to seeing with very few mosquitos in our yard.
i would definitely used this company because of the owner Mr. Navarro.
THE GOOD
The spraying worked. It reduced the amount of mosquitos and ticks in my back yard.
THE BAD:
It seemed to wear after about two weeks.
THE UGLY:
I found out that I was charged SIGNIFICANTLY different than my neighbor whom I referred to them. I took the time to put a message on my HOA bulletin board and drum up some business for them. My neighbor was able to negotiate $466 (I saw her contract) and they charged me $699! We have almost identical homes and lot sizes.
When I called, they would not honor the price, and would not return my calls. Very unprofessonal!!!
Be aware, their price is VERY FLEXIBLE!!!!
"[member name removed] called on May 12, 2014 and requested a ONE-TIME event spray and paid a discounted rate of $202.50. The standard price is $225. The pro-rated amount for seasonal barrier spray service (which she did not have or pay for) is currently $499. We also offer military and senior citizen discounts as well. Our rates have been consistent for 7 years now, and I am happy to say have not increased at all during that time. [member name removed] is simply being dishonest to say she paid $699.00 for anything."
