Prior to opening Discover in 2004, we have worked on dozens of residential and commercial projects as independent contractors in the D.C. area as well as Southern Virginia and Northern Maryland for the last five years. We have a combined experience of more than 40 years in both the United States and Europe. We went to Discover and were promptly greeted by Jennifer. She was very helpful and knowledgable. She quickly directed us to find the perfect stone. Muhammad came to measure and he was punctual and professional, and very friendly. He took the time to answer our questions. We did place the order during the 4th of July weekend, so it did take longer than what we expected. However, the granite looks beautiful and installed perfectly.

Discover worked with me fabricating a slab of granite I purchased at auction. They helped me determine how many slabs to bid on prior to auctions end, picked up and fabricated our counter tops and island tops. They did a beautiful job.

We searched for a number of countertop providers in the Manassas/Gainesville area, and settled on Discover for both price and the style of granite we liked. Discover worked with us to lay out the counters on the granite slab that we picked, and matched the backsplash to look continuous with the countertop. Their recommendation on where to split the countertop work well,and they threw in a polished cutting board from the extra granite. Installation went well except for damage to the linoleum floor when they moved the refrigerator. This was ok since we had planned to replace the floor anyway, and it made my wife happy to move up that replacement.

We had previously used them for countertops in the kitchen of our previous house. Both times they were vell priced, fast, and an overall good company to work with. Our second installation did have a bit of a hiccup as one piece was not cut correctly. The company fixed it without any problem, but arranging installation was not as smooth as I would have liked. We were told they could install on a Monday afternoon, but as that time rolled around still no word. Not until late afternoon were we told it wouldn't be till 700 or 800 that night as they had a big job that was taking longer than expected. While their desire to do the install as quickly as possible was appreciated, it would have been a lot better to schedule a time when they were confident they could be there at the scheduled time instead of trying to squeeze us in. They did knock some off the price to make up for it. We would use them again.

It was $50 a square yard. It was very good. They measured it and did it in exactly 2 1/2 hours. They stripped it, put it in and it is working perfectly. They didn't make any mistakes on their accuracy. Their price was comparable and maybe better. We would absolutely hire them again.
